Potter wasps, aka mason wasps, are beneficial insects in gardens.

[00:00:00]This female potter wasp is building her nest which is made up of several individual cells. Potter wasps fill each cell with paralyzed caterpillars and lay an egg inside. When the egg hatches, the emerging wasp lava has an ample food supply. But this wasp is removing caterpillars from her nest. Maybe the caterpillars were parasetized by another kind of wasp. Or maybe one of the caterpillars was diseased. She flew away with the caterpillars and flicked them into the garden with considerable disdain. After she got rid of those caterpillars, she went back to her nest building. A typical nest where I live has about 12 cells. And if there are six caterpillars per cell, that's over 70 caterpillars per nest. Potter wasps are one of many beneficial insects in gardens and should be encouraged rather than feared.
