Ovulation is a normal physiological process where a mature ovarian follicle (a fluid-filled cyst containing an egg) ruptures to release the egg, which can cause temporary abdominal pain called mittelschmerz, and is not a pathological condition that affects future reproductive cycles.

Fun fact: ovulation is technically a cyst rupture本站添加:
You actually have a cyst structure every single month. So, the egg grows inside a follicle, follicle gets bigger as the egg gets more mature, and then when the egg is mature, the follicle will rupture. That's ovulation, and the egg is released. The follicle then reforms and becomes the corpus luteum. When that cyst ruptures and the egg is released, the fluid inside is released into your abdomen as well. So, you can have free fluid in your abdomen, and you will see a ruptured cyst. Depending on where on the ovary this happened, you actually can get bleeding as well if a blood vessel was right there. So, it can be extremely painful. Some women feel their ovulation every month, and that's called mittelschmerz or middle of the cycle.
Other times it is just randomly painful based on where the follicle grew in the ovary that month and where the cyst ruptured. But, it shouldn't have any impact on your future cycles because it is part of the normal ovulatory process.
So, that makes me concerned that something else could be going on.
