Social media disrupts male hormonal balance through constant dopamine stimulation, chronic cortisol elevation, blue light exposure, and social comparison, which collectively impair testosterone production, sleep quality, motivation, and overall mental health by hijacking the brain's natural reward system and creating a sedentary lifestyle that further degrades hormonal function.

Social Media Is Destroying Your HormonesAdded:
Boom.
What's up everyone? Mark Lobo liner tigerfitness.com. When you think about hormones, you think about testosterone, you think about estrogen.
But you don't really think about things like dopamine, serotonin. But we're going to talk today about social media and how it is destroying men's hormones.
And it's not just testosterone, but inadvertently it does lead to testosterone.
So modern social media behavior creates an environment that chronically disrupts the systems that regulate male hormones, motivation, recovery, stress, and dopamine. So here's what happens. With social media, you got novelty, all of it, endless novelty, constant stimulation. All you got to do is scroll. Scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll, swipe, swipe, swipe.
Instant gratification, fast dopamine hits. Your brain's not about that.
Your brain wants to earn its dopamine. I call it earned dopamine.
What is that? You go to high school.
Training all year, all off season for your first game, your first football game, and you win.
That feeling, that dopamine rush. You earned it. You trained your ass off.
That doesn't happen with the phone. You just go there, you click on some porn or some rage bait or whatever, and dopamine is filled. Dopamine at your fingertips.
Your effort-based reward system is not being filled.
So you're getting all this entertainment, outrage, stimulation, arousal without earning it.
Right?
It's like being married. If I don't treat my wife good, I'm not getting that dopamine reward by being, you know, being able to do it at night, cuz she'll be mad at me.
So, I earned that dopamine rush.
But, you can't do that when you have constant dopamine. That desensitizes you to the dopamine. You have lower motivation, poorer focus, and you have a reward dysfunction.
Also, what it does, constant constant cortisol elevation. Chronic, it's just in your system.
Social media keeps you in this constant mode of stress. You got what they call rage bait. Doomscrolling, just scrolling, scrolling, scrolling.
Comparing yourself to others. You don't see the bad side. You always see what's good about their life. You don't see the couple fighting. You just see their beautiful, romantic holiday pictures.
You don't see dude pulling a Ray Rice on her ass. No, you don't see that.
Financial anxiety, everybody's rich on Instagram now. They're fake. Here's the thing, I know these people. They're most of them are fake. 99% of those people can't They're living paycheck to paycheck, and they're they're they're they're just buying dumb [ __ ] Political conflict, man. You want to know what really Threads. If you want to know where crazy people go, go to Threads.
Holy [ __ ] You go on that cesspool. All it is is really, really mad Democrats saying that they want to get rid of everybody who voted for Trump. And it is like and oh, I'LL GET I'LL GET LIKE my [ __ ] taken down for saying a joke, but like a joke about like just a a joke about a nose or something. And And oh, no, no, these people be out, you know, literally hoping people pass away, and and it's fine on Threads. Like if if Oh my god, crazy.
So, a lot of times you get this relationship envy, too. Everybody's relationship is happier than yours, right? Everybody's smiling and kissing, and everything's perfect. It's all paradise.
But, this elevates your cortisol sympathetic nervous system activity. And if you elevate that, you can negatively impact testosterone, sleep, recovery, insulin sensitivity, and in turn body composition. Also, when you scroll at night, that blue light, it throws off your sleep, your ability to fall asleep and get deep sleep.
Right? It delays your sleep. You can't fall asleep as fast, suppresses your melatonin, which is your sleep hormone, and it overstimulates your brain. You want that downtime before brain. And poor sleep, well, that's going to reduce your testosterone. But But bad sleep also makes you hungrier.
Recovery sucks, your mood sucks, your energy sucks, your insulin function sucks.
And usually we could directly correlate more screen time to more sedentary lifestyle, less movement, less sunlight, less exercise, less real world [ __ ] And this matters because movement and resistance training and just being active in the world, those are major testosterone supportive behaviors if we're looking at that as a hormone measure. So, men constantly compare themselves to richer men, more muscular men, more successful men, but you're seeing this through a filtered lifestyle lens.
This creates chronic dissatisfaction, anxiety, stress, feelings of inferiority. Everybody's perfect on Instagram.
So, again, like perceived social defeat, well, that affects your hormonal state, your stress signaling, and just you'll feel like [ __ ] overall.
You bring in one of the biggest issues, and that's porn.
Huge issue.
Huge issue, especially those simps paying $6.99 for anybody who pays for OnlyFans, you're a [ __ ] I have no respect for any man who pays for OnlyFans. If a girl wants to be a hooker and capitalize on you being a [ __ ] that's fine, but anybody who pays for OnlyFans is a [ __ ] You don't have any respect from me, zero respect. So, you get constant sexual stimulation, novelty, thirst traps, dopamine overload. That means you can get lower motivation, altered reward sensitivity, um reduced real-world drive, and your attention will suck.
Your attention span collapses. You're seeking novelty constantly. Normal [ __ ] doesn't do it anymore. You start looking for that freaky [ __ ] You avoid deep focus. You crave constant stimulation. So, your discipline, productivity, consistency, motivation, those take a dip. That impacts your training, your nutrition, your consistency, recovery, sleep, overall health. So, masculinity in turn becomes passive consumption. Look, dude, a lot of men are straight-up [ __ ] now.
OnlyFans guys, you're [ __ ] You pay for OnlyFans, you're a [ __ ] But men build.
We hunt. We compete. We train. We create. We solve problems. That's how this beautiful world was built. That's how the Western world was built by men building epic [ __ ] Now, you're scrolling, you're consuming, you're watching other people succeed.
You're getting all up in your feelings and depressed.
Go do some [ __ ] Create something. Build something.
BE A [ __ ] MAN.
That shift matters more.
That matters more physiologically.
Is that you get out there and you do [ __ ] The brain will follow. Just get out there and start doing. Form the habit.
I like social media.
Created a ton of businesses on social media with people from social media.
Making a lot of money, having a great time.
Meet a lot of great people on there.
Great people. People who saw me on a podcast, people who, you know, might follow me on YouTube or Instagram or X or whatever. I meet a lot of good friends there. It can educate, inspire, build businesses, create communities.
Problem is when you just go in and you do the dumb [ __ ] You do the doom scrolling. You pay for the only fans.
You simp like a little [ __ ] That's where you get the dopamine overload and the lack of real world balance.
So, at the end of the day, social media is what you make of it. It can be a great tool or it can be your biggest detriment to getting better.
Speaking of getting better, this is an ad.
