Reality consists of two layers: conventional truth (sammuti sacca), which includes named objects like tables and people that lack inherent existence, and ultimate truth (paramattha sacca), which comprises only mind, mental factors, matter, and nibbana as fundamental indivisible elements; this ancient Abhidhamma wisdom aligns with modern quantum mechanics, which reveals that solid objects are actually 99.99% empty space with atoms constantly arising and passing away, creating the illusion of solidity through rapid vibrations that our minds perceive as stable objects.

NOTHING IS REAL: The Illusion of Matter | The Blueprint of Reality - Ep 01本站添加:
Welcome to the first session of this 50-part master class on Ja monolith.
You are here because you have sensed that there is more to your existence than what meets the eye.
This is not just a lecture series. It is a stepbystep journey to decode the human mind and the very fabric of the world you inhabit. Over the next 50 episodes, we will peel back the layers of perception using the profound wisdom of the abidharma as our map.
We begin today with a fundamental question.
Is what you see actually real?
We live our lives surrounded by people, buildings, and objects. never questioning their solidity.
But the ancient masters and modern physicists agree on one startling conclusion.
Reality is an illusion.
To understand this, we must first learn to distinguish between two types of truth, samutaka and paramata saka.
Most of us spend our entire lives trapped within the first layer of reality known as samiti saka or conventional truth.
This is the truth of the world as we describe it in daily conversation.
It includes everything we give a name to tables, chairs, trees, animals and even the concept of me or you.
The sources explain that these names are accepted by the world for the sake of communication.
When we look at a specific arrangement of wood and call it a table, we are using a samotei label.
This label is useful. It allows us to interact with our environment.
However, the abidharma warns us that these objects do not possess an inherent independent existence.
Think of a house.
If you remove the roof, is it still a house?
If you remove the walls, the doors, and the windows, where did the house go?
The house was never a solid singular thing.
It was merely a conventional name given to a temporary collection of parts.
In the same way, the person you see in the mirror is a collection of changing parts that we have labeled with a name for convenience.
Beyond the world of names lies paramatasaka or ultimate truth.
While conventional truth relies on our imagination and labels, ultimate truth describes things that actually exist in their own right, regardless of what we call them. According to the sources, a paramata, your ultimate reality is something that cannot be broken down or analyzed into any smaller different component.
Let's go back to the table.
If you break a table, the table disappears, but the wood remains.
If you break the wood, it becomes sawdust.
If you analyze the sawdust, you find fundamental elements.
These final indivisible building blocks which the abidharma identifies as sitta mind.
Statusa mental factors rupa matter and nibbana liberation are the only things that are ultimately real.
The beauty of paramatasaka is that it doesn't change based on your opinion or language.
A stone is a samity name, but the hardness or heat you feel when touching it is a paramata, a direct ultimate experience of the elements.
While the stone is an illusion of the mind, the fundamental qualities of matter are the ultimate reality.
This ancient wisdom perfectly align with what we now know through quantum mechanics.
Just as the abidharma explains that a solid object like a rock is actually a collection of tiny units called rupa that are constantly arising and passing away.
Modern science tells us that matter is an illusion of solidity.
If you look at a solid metal bar under a quantum microscope, you will see that it is composed of atoms.
But an atom is 99.99% empty space.
The solidity we feel is not because the object is filled with stuff, but because of the repulsive energy forces between electrons.
The sources describe matter ruper as being in a constant state of flux moving so rapidly that the human eye perceives it as a continuous solid object.
This is exactly like a ceiling fan. When it spins fast enough, the individual blades disappear and you see a solid circle of blurred light.
The circle isn't real.
Only the fastmoving blades are.
Similarly, our solid world is just vibrating energy and fundamental elements moving so quickly that our slowmoving minds perceive them as stable objects.
By understanding the difference between samuris saka and paramata saka you begin to see through the matrix of your own perception.
You realize that the problems of your life often exist only in the world of conventional labels while the ultimate reality is simply a flow of mental and physical energy.
You have taken the first step in the giant monolith journey.
You are no longer just a passenger in your mind.
You are becoming the decoder.
You now know that the world you touch and see is a beautiful complex illusion, a mental construct built upon fundamental truths that remain hidden from the untrained eye.
But how exactly is this illusion built?
What are the specific materials used to construct the self and the world?
In our next episode, we will reveal the four pillars of existence that construct this illusion.
We will dive deep into the building blocks of the universe.
mind, mental factors, matter, and the unconditioned.
Stay curious.
The journey has only just begun.
