Acid reflux (GERD) is closely associated with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), particularly in non-smokers, because stomach acid can splash into the lungs and cause damage that leads to scar tissue formation; this connection explains why IPF can develop even in individuals who have never smoked, and managing acid reflux through antacids and dietary changes may help slow disease progression.

Keto Diamond weigh in and chat day 3211, what causes pulmonary fibrosis?Added:
Hey, hey, you guys. It's your favorite little keto goofball Diamond, and today marks day 3,100 3,200 and 11. I looked that up right before I got on here and still forgot.
3,211 and uh we're going to talk about my day of eating yesterday. I'm going to show you what I ate. I'm going to perform weigh-in.
Dance, monkey, dance. Uh >> [laughter] >> Um I'm just kidding with y'all. But uh I'll talk about uh my dad, the kids. I'm sure one of the youngins will will bring themselves in here in just a minute to say hello.
She normally does. But sometimes they all do. It's just hard to say what you'll get when you watch one of these videos. Anyway, guys, let me go ahead without further ado and show you the weigh-ins and everything.
I'm really, really working really hard on finding a way to do a new intro video that I like, which is very difficult because the music that I set aside.
Anyway, here we go, y'all.
Oh, it's time to rant, rave, and misbehave Keto Diamond style. Now, I'mma poke you.
All right, May 11th, 213.2.
The This is axe steak, but I'm having steak and eggs today.
Here's mine, steak and eggs.
I've never super known these to work for me, but I really wanted some chocolate, so I'm going to have a couple uh sections.
These rice uh crispy rice dark chocolate style bar.
Sorry, it's a little dark, but I've had some pork skins dipped in salsa and some dipped in this jalapeno cheddar.
May 12th, May [clears throat] 12th, 213.
What'd you say?
Do you know how many toys I find in the sink every day?
Huh? I dropped it in thing. Yeah, I know.
Not really. Yes and no. Down a little bit, just 0.2.
Uh not upset with it, but I know where it should have been. Realistically, holding 3 lbs of food, could have realistically dropped 3 lbs of food.
But, I did not. I'm pretty sure it had something to do with that Lily's. Um it was yummy. It Well, okay, it's kind of funny.
You guys tell me if you experience this.
With the Lily's products, one to two little bites is yummy.
And then it kind of hurts your tummy.
Um or my tummy, anyway. Um and you kind of it And for some reason I kept eating it.
Why?
But, I did do that. And um probably realistically having that one section would have been fine. But, I don't know why I throughout the day I just popped more sections off and ate them. So, your girl to blame. It's my fault.
Need to stop doing that mess, but here I am. And I know I ain't the only one, so that's why I'm just being open and honest and telling you the real deal.
>> [laughter] >> So, I mean, all in all though it wasn't a bad day. And like Zach said, that was the most fantastic fatty, bloody, soft, wonderful steak.
Unfortunately, my steak cooking is hit or miss. Sometimes it is it's like that.
And when it is like that, it's like that.
Nice.
And then sometimes you better have a rubber mallet and a chisel cuz you ain't going to chew that up.
And sometimes it's just what just overdone. Um So, I'm I'm hit or miss with it. If I could always cook it like that, that's all I'd eat. I'm good with it.
But, I cannot. So, that is that. And uh uh I don't know. I really wanted chocolate yesterday and I had it. And I should not. So.
Yeah, I just I've never had the good luck with the lilies. I've also never had the good sense to put it down after a square or two. So, that could be the problem.
It's probably me.
>> [laughter] >> It's me. I I'm the problem. It's me.
But anyway, I hope you two don't get me for that cuz that was terrible singing, okay? I can't do that. I can sing along with the radio just fine. Sound great in the car.
Not real life.
This was that coffee I was telling y'all about. Hold on one second. Let me get the words out of my mouth.
This is the coffee I was telling you about. Somebody asked me about it. It's like a fire department brand. Stuff's expensive, $13.
And yesterday I was like, I should buy me some more coffee cuz I don't like this, but my son does.
And this this is the one I got him. I am drinking it now because I did not have enough of the other kind. And I also want to apologize now for wearing the same clothes over and over, but I'm out of everything. Yeah, she really is. Aw. Come on over.
Oh.
This one needs her hair combed. She look like a wild child.
Nope. Nope. Don't do that. I'll put you out this room.
You want to go out?
What do you want to talk to them about?
Make sure to like and subscribe and hit that notification bell. And hype this video. Uh I still don't know what that means. I Somebody told me it was a a mobile thing. I don't know or like that's cell phone. It is. Is it? Have you seen a hyping a video?
I've I've never hyped a video. I don't know. I don't like I watch YouTube on my laptop because it's bigger.
>> [laughter] >> I do typically do like Tik Tok and stuff here and watch it on my phone, but yeah, mostly.
>> She used a hair bow to hold it up. Yeah, I'm using a hair bow to hold my phone up.
>> [sighs and gasps] >> I don't have the thingy that goes on to the thingy that holds it. No, it broke. And this phone is like a fat phone.
I want my hair bow back, ma'am. But anyway, That's my hair bow. That is not your hair bow. I had my hair up, took it down to do this video. She stole my bow.
Now that Athena has said her little rant, you guys don't forget to thumbs up and all that stuff.
There are some great ways to support the channel that are greatly appreciated in the description section. There's also some ways to get your vitamins and minerals down there.
And uh you can contact me. It's all in the description, so just, you know, check that out.
All right, my little insane young'un.
>> [laughter] >> So, I've told you yesterday, guys, I was going to tell you a little bit about my dad. He's not doing any better or any worse. So, there's some things that the doctor told us the other week. We got to go back to his chest doctor and talk to them after he'd had a scan and they put him on some different medication. There is a new medication for um IPF pulmonary fibrosis, yes. Uh idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is what he has, but pulmonary fibrosis regardless. Um Now, the doctor I guess he is saying my father could not hear well. But the doctor was also foreign, so my dad would say, "Huh?" The doctor would just get louder.
And he was looking at me funny, and I was looking at him funny, cuz I realized what was going on.
Um it was a language barrier issue, but I guess he just thought my dad was deaf.
Um so, he was shouting at him. Then he would turn to me and talk very softly.
>> [laughter] >> I was having a hard time not falling out onto the floor, okay? But anyway, um it it was great. Um he he irritated me, because they keep putting this on my father's paperwork. They put it on my mother's paperwork, too.
They put it on my mother's paperwork she was a smoker.
She was never a smoker. She never smoked a cigarette day in her life. Never once.
But it was on her paperwork because she had uh pulmonary fibrosis and which we didn't know about. I saw that on her her doctor's paperwork a little while back and this after she'd already passed. But we didn't know that she had COPD and some other stuff. And they put it on her paperwork, smoker. Was never ever ever one day in her single whole being a smoker. My dad was from the time he was 11 to the time he was 21. I wasn't born till he was 29. So in my whole 47 years of life that man has not smoked. So the doctor goes, "Have you gone back to smoking?" I was like, "He is not a smoker nor has he ever been." And I don't count from 21 from 11 years old to 21 when he's 76. It is not really the thing there. All right. Um Now he's had some damage to his lungs and I initially that's what I my understanding was that the problem had been because he had uh punctured a lung twice in his life. Um once when he was 18, car flip convertible flipped he was in, and once about uh 13 years ago before Zach was born um he had a motorcycle accident which damaged his lungs.
So I thought that's what they were talking about because they kept saying scar tissue was building up on his inside of his lungs from damage.
Well, anyway, when the doctor said, "Have you gone back to smoking?" I was like, "He does not smoke nor has he ever." But of course my dad broke into this cute little story. So I'm going to share it with you guys. So he grew up in Greensboro. He was born in Floyd County, Virginia. But he grew up in Greensboro.
And P. Lorillard, a cigarette factory out there, would uh if if a portion of a carton got crushed, they'd throw the whole carton away. So my dad and his brothers, there were six of them, would go out into the dump and take the good cigarettes. Uh he you know, whatever. And that's when he started smoking and he smoked from the time, like I said, he was uh 11 till he was 21.
But if I mean, I have to say, he is not a smoker nor has he been since I've been on this planet. So, the doctor goes, "Oh, well, I'll tell you what. Has he ever had a whole lot of acid reflux or anything like that?" Yes.
Yes. Um It was funny cuz I I didn't know what uh I was pregnant with my son. I did not know what heartburn was. I'd heard the term, but that fire-breathing stuff coming up out of me, had no idea what that was. I would I was trying to put the fire out with water, anything I could drink that would cool it off.
Turns out and I found this out just a few months ago, peanut butter.
Buy the peanut butter, takes care of it, gets rid of it. I don't know what it does, but a glob of peanut butter on a spoon, you suck that down, it settles stuff right down. I didn't know this, but I did it one day cuz I was burning and didn't know what else to do, and it worked.
But anyway, he he's he was talking to me about it. And when I was younger, about the same time I was pregnant and my son was I was having all the problems, my dad sent me to the store almost every night to get him um Alka-Seltzer plus. They're fine. I'll show you.
They're probably just fighting.
Ooh.
Boy, are they.
That's the little one. He's loud. Um um but apparently, one of uh one thing that closely associates with with pulmonary fibrosis is uh acid reflux and stuff like that.
Because I from my understanding, it can splash down and and kind of get into places it's not supposed to do and like acid burns the lungs and causes some of that.
Um or at least that's my understanding of it. But anyway, he said it's closely associated with IPF, especially if the person's not a known smoker.
And I was like, "Oh my god." So, they did also prescribe him an antacid. Um I don't know. It's a little green pill.
He takes it twice a day now. And they put him on instead of Ofev, which is a medication for IPF.
Jess- Jessic. You'll have to look it up.
Um the proper name for it is >> There's a spider hanging up above Papa's chair.
Let me go kill the spider. I'll be right back.
So, turns out all that squalling was over the spider.
He was dead, but I had to get him because Atreus was apparently playing in my daddy's bed chair, not his bed, in his recliner, looked up and there was this little spider dangling right in front of his face, but his little legs was already, you know, so he was gone.
But, that screaming and that squalling and a whole lot of ass was a spider.
And unfortunately, now him being three, he's on the lookout for them. So, if y'all hear screaming and a squalling again, they probably found another one.
And we live out in the country, so realistically, there's probably another one.
We killed a great big one in there last night on the couple nights ago in the kitchen chair.
But, there's there's black widows on the front porch.
I've seen brown recluse. We just live in the country. I mean, you know, they're here. You just try to avoid them. But, it's almost impossible.
Oh, with the recluse, you just keep all the you know, the the clothes and stuff up cuz they like piles of dirty clothes and all that. So, generally not too big of a deal.
But, I do like keep my clean clothes in a basket most of the time. I got some hanging up, the nicer ones, but I don't realistically have nowhere to wear those, so you know. But, anyway, with the IPF, I don't remember where I stopped talking. But, apparently acid reflux and stuff like that, like GERD, can be a huge factor in IPF.
That officially makes it a food-related issue.
Now, I don't know how much you can heal taking away the bad foods, but I do know that he has not had heartburn but two or three times in the last 2 years. Cuz cuz that's one thing he will complain about that he does not like.
Um which I mean he'll he'll suffer in silence with everything else. He'd cut his leg off with a chainsaw and suffer in silence.
But not heartburn.
>> [laughter] >> That will make him go to raisin hell.
Um so I know that he sent me for a bottle of Tums a long long time ago.
Zax's took more of them than he has.
However, with that being said, I'm going to have to watch that. Cuz he does at 12 years old get frequent heartburn.
So It's amazing the things that food does to us and and the way our bodies digest them and treat food.
We have to be very careful with foods, especially if we're sensitive and I am a very sensitive girl when it comes to foods. So the last time that I know of that he got real bad heartburn was after a Taco Bell event, twice actually. I think it was two different times after Taco Bell and once after some Chinese food I brought him home. Mostly I cook for it though.
He he very rarely eats anything out. But yeah, that that is a situation. It it So if you have frequent GERD or heartburn, maybe have your lungs tested and try to prevent and avoid that situation because that is a nasty disease. Once you get it, you generally have 3 to 5 years.
And over time you just can't breathe anymore. So it is not a fun thing to suffer from.
Still not good.
But it's coffee.
Um It is amazing how I hated coffee and now I love it.
Okay, I'm sure there was more I wanted to tell y'all. Although, I guess if I'm doing daily videos, they ain't got to be that long, do they?
I reckon I'm going to try to get Corey's butt up and out the door. I want to go to DoorDash a little bit. I hear that you can rent cars from like DoorDash.
Um of course, it's not going to be cheap, but at least it keeps the miles off of yours. Um and you can dash more frequently because they fix any problems and you can trade them out. So, I might try to do that. I don't know how to do that.
I've never done that before, but we're going to see about that because if I have a good vehicle that I don't have to worry about tearing up, I don't mind dashing all day that I don't got to be here to to help him cuz mainly um I need to be here for him a couple times a day. Now, because there's always family here. If he was all alone, then that would be a different story, but this is a large family. There's almost always somebody here with him. So, um but mainly about 1:30 every day, I do it earlier, but that's when he likes to crawl his butt out of bed.
About 1:30 every day, I make him a protein shake. I put D3K2 in it, magnesium in it, um mullein for his lungs in it, um sometimes some B12, just you know, little things I think that he might be lacking and want to make sure because he hasn't been out much D3K2, magnesium, always good idea.
Aw, kiss boo-boo.
Um I got a text message.
Um and I make him his bowl of chi- no, I'm sorry, Fruit Loops with a banana chopped up in it.
That's his breakfast and I give him his his uh first round of medication. And at night, I need to be here to make sure I put um his night time met round round of medication on his bedside table.
Um uh a large ice water like you know, the big old metal cups, not this one, but the great big ones with the the straw.
He's got ice water beside his bed cuz he gets dehydrated. And I know that because I have to empty pee bottles, which is not fun, but it is life.
Um he has a hard time getting up and down. Now, when he's in the living room, he'll go, but when he's laying in bed, it's really really hard for him to get up. So, there's one in his bedroom.
And uh there's sometimes he doesn't get out of bed, but most most days he does wander into the living room eventually.
The doctor did They did a walking test with him the other day for his oxygen.
So, he's on two when he's just sitting around doing nothing.
Um but if he needs to get up and move around, they tell him, you know, if you have time to move that up to to four before you get up and move around for about five uh turn it up to about four for about 5 minutes before you get up and move around. Um so, I imagine if he goes outside more, maybe he'll do that.
But I also need to make sure he's got plenty of oxygen tanks where he can reach them. He can change them if he needs to, but that does cause exertion, and I would rather just do it um and be here to do it. And they they typically run out after 4 hours. Now, the one in his room is plugged into his wall, but moving that around the house would be a pain. They do have super long cords, but I do want people to remember we got a 3-year-old, a 6-year-old, and a 12-year-old, and sometimes a 7-year-old near.
And um a klutz.
So, I'm more likely to pull that cord than anybody else is. So, yeah.
Um Well, I reckon I'll get Corey's little butt up to DoorDash if I can, and get her moving around some. She She does like to do it because sitting in the car is one of the more comfortable positions for her back.
So, we'll see. Oh, I heard her dogs outside. I know she's awake.
All right.
Um much love, many prayers.
Bye, y'all.
