In the north lies the Sahara Desert, in the center the dry Sahel region, >> [music] >> and in the south farmland and villages struggling against climate pressure.

[00:00:25]Chad's economy depends heavily on oil exports, >> [music] >> agriculture, and livestock. Oil brought billions of dollars into the country after major discoveries in the early 2000s, but despite its resources, [music] poverty remains widespread.

[00:00:40]Many communities still lack reliable roads, [music] electricity, health care, and education. The country also faces major security challenges. Regional conflicts, armed groups, and instability across the Sahel [music] continue creating pressure on both the government and civilians. And one of Chad's biggest environmental crises is happening at Lake Chad. Once one of Africa's largest lakes, it has dramatically shrunk over the decades because of climate change and water overuse.
