[00:00:16]>> Well, tonight the Mart City Council voted unanimously to terminate Shane James from the positions as city administrator and police chief effective immediately.

[00:00:24]>> James had been on administrative leave since his May arrest on a driving while intoxicated charge. The decision came during a special meeting following an executive session in which council members discussed James' employment status. Council members also voted to deny James' request for an extension of his leave of absence. The city previously filed a formal complaint against him on May 21st as officials conducted an internal review and Mayor James Miller had this to say about the decision.
