And uh yeah, I started reviewing films, actually. That was kind of my my starting journalism. Um and then I quickly realized I hated reviewing things. I grew up in a beautiful Iraqi [music] household. And um obviously, we practiced our Iraqi identity very heavily at home, and then outside the home, [music] at school, and you know, in the neighborhood, and in the village, we would practice the the British identity. So, [music] I'm very kind of used to flip-flopping between these two identities throughout my whole life, and that's kind of the what the premise of the book is. And yeah, I went on [music] to study English literature at university in Edinburgh, which I adored as a city. Then I started my career in journalism when I was actually at [music] university still, because I started writing for a newspaper called The Skinny. And uh yeah, I started reviewing films, actually. That was kind of my my starting journalism. Um and then I quickly realized [music] I hated reviewing things, because I didn't want to be like a critic, because I just feel [music] like it's quite um who am I to tell other people what they should think about piece of art, artist's objective.
