Pakistan faces a severe economic crisis characterized by rising inflation, energy shortages, and systemic financial failures. The country's energy sector has been disrupted by the Iran nuclear crisis, causing oil and gas prices to spike and forcing widespread adoption of solar panels. The IMF program has imposed stringent conditions including interest rate increases, subsidy removals, and electricity price hikes, which have exacerbated public suffering. The IPP (Independent Power Producer) issue involves complex contractual obligations where investors are receiving capacity payments while the government commits to purchasing electricity for 40 years, creating a significant financial burden. The trade deficit has widened to $32 billion, with imports increasing by 89% while exports decline by 8%, and remittances have decreased by 8%, concentrated heavily in Saudi Arabia and UAE. The security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has deteriorated with multiple terrorist attacks, and the judicial system has faced criticism for inconsistent treatment of suspects, including a drug dealer case that raised concerns about police conduct and civil liberties.

Turkiye In Action Muqabil With Amir Mateen & Rabiya Ahsan | Muzammil Aslam | Mumtaz Bangash追加:
[Music] In the program Muqabil, Khushamdid, I am Rabia Hassan and with me is Aamir Mateen and the topics we will discuss in today's program include Trump's accusation on Iran of going back on its pledge, Washington's claim that Iran is not ready to transfer the enriched uranium, Tehran's response is also harsh. There will be no compromise on uranium availability. Iran's 14 exit proposals, Trump's pressure and Baqiba's warning, there is no way out without accepting the fundamental rights of the Iranian people. Are negotiations failing or is the risk of war increasing? The war of the Mashrak Wasta and the crisis of humiliation shook the army's efforts.
Oil, electricity, gas, shipping and other expenses are high. Inflation started rising again in Pakistan. Are the IMF, Adaf budget and public relief all under pressure? The revelation of Rs 70 billion money laundering in Sonal Pal's case, fake companies, over- invoicing and weak monitoring have raised questions on the entire financial system. Did the IMF, State Bank, Customs, SECB and commercial banks all fail?
New wave of terrorism in Khair Pakhtunkhwa, nine people killed in Lakkimar blast. 15 police personnel martyred in Bannu outpost attack.
475 sentences in three months. Is the state's security system failing? The police, who brought the accused Afrad to the court in handcuffs in a political case, fell in front of drug dealer Pinky. Pinky, the accused in the cocaine arms and digital drug network worth crores of rupees, was brought without handcuffs. Pinky's threats, police negligence and then the death of Afsaran. The question is whether this was the negligence of the police or the pressure of some powerful network. These are all the topics that will be covered in today's program.
Aamir Sahib, the way Trump has revealed that Iran is refusing to cooperate on uranium enrichment and Iran has also put forward its options.
Does it seem that the matter will lead to a dialogue or will it move towards further disaster from here?
Yes, one thing is that America does not want to go to war at the moment and earlier Marco Robbio, their Secretary of State, has said that we have achieved our war objectives.
Today, his Secretary of Defense is now called the War Secretary.
He also says that our objectives have been achieved. President Trump of Goa is saying that this seaside is very fragile. It is weak and can break at any time.
But it seems that at present America does not want to start a war. The issue is that matters are still unresolved within the Gulf.
Abrana Hurmus is closed. America 's blockade still exists from here. After that the war is still going on inside Lebanon. Attacks are also taking place in Gaza.
And every day there is some fight over tankers and any spark can escalate the war again.
And in the mean time, President Trump, being Trump, keeps playing his Trumpian games.
Every day, for example, what he did on Bye Bye Boats was what kind of a social truth he was telling about his achievements, that yes, there lasers are going great guns, this type of thing, and then along with that, the 250th anniversary of America is coming up on the Fourth of July, so he is proposing for that. This note should be issued with a symbolic image on it and specifically mention Trump inside it.
And God bless Donald Trump. So they are playing those games. All eyes are on him as his visit to China begins. So the focus is on that, firstly it has to be seen whether China is being persuaded by anyone, whether it plays any role in deciding the matters related to Iran or if it does, then will it demand a price, if it does not, then what are its effects, in front of me, this Wali Nasser, who is a very respected scholar of theirs, has said that yes, this is also a matter of concern that if after this, after America attacks China, then Iran will get the impression that perhaps this has been a signal from China. So this was also a focus of the talks between China and Iran.
So the current situation is like a stalemate, you can call it a pause. The whole world is adjusting accordingly to what is inside him.
But clearly, the domestic pressure on America has increased a lot and the surveys are also coming against him. There are 70% people, up to 70% of the surveys that are coming are of disapproval.
50% of that is from his own Republicans. And this Chuck Schumer, I have one of his. This senator is very famous from America, he has come out with a very critical opinion that this was a total disaster and the disaster of the century and the day before yesterday we have mentioned that Robert Kagan has written a very scary article in Atlantic Magazine that this was the worst loss in the history of America and it has been checkmated and there is no way out of this that this is going to reverse, there seems to be a possibility of America's downfall and through this the message is that it is not limited to Gulf and Middle East only, its tremors will reach the entire world and the 800 basis of America in the entire world, every country everywhere is seeing that America is falling behind and they are adjusting accordingly. So this is a new world. This is a new mistake. So countries like ours also need new ground realities in which this issue will gain momentum.
This Gulf issue will continue for weeks, months and years. There is no chance of this becoming a permanent peace here. And the world's energy scene has changed so much that it will not be restored soon. Especially for gas and petrol, it will take months or years for the plants to be repaired and the supply lines to be fixed and all the countries are making arrangements to reduce their dependence on fossil fuels in the short term, medium term and long term. How to move towards renewables and how to adjust accordingly.
So, the big question for us is what is being done in Pakistan?
What are we drilling? Should we remember that America and China are still producing most of the energy in the world from coal?
China has approximately 40% of its energy. Even today it is made from coal. So why are we not gasifying the coal we have? Why are we not promoting it? What are we doing for storage? Or we will go into a lot of detail about solar instead of selling it. We are strangling him. So if you can introduce the guest, we do n't have any guest with us right now. But the point that you are discussing right now, basically, is that everyone should look towards alternatives because as we have discussed earlier, this war is not for a short period and its impacts are definitely going to be long term.
But right now we are seeing that Trump's statements are such that you are saying that this is a war of words.
The way Iran is taking its position and it is saying that people will be surprised to see our preparations.
This seems to be the truth in this or these words have also been clearly spelled out by Iran that they will end it on their terms.
He has been fighting these sessions for the last 47 years.
He says no laggar. Now, if there is no future, they want a complete end to their war and for this they have prepared for 20 years and they have also proved within 47 days that they are in a position to withstand shelling for 37 days and they are standing and looking more organized than before. So it is clear from their side that we have to do this on our turns.
Yes, because of that because he will do it on his turns. This will take time.
Because of that, there is an energy situation in the entire world which will remain a victim of such crisis. A country like Pakistan is very energy dependent.
Our biggest import bill is that of energy.
People have saved us by installing solar panels and Pakistan is saved because of the very person whom this government wants to strangle.
But there does not seem to be any such effort on the part of the government that it is trying to get along with this Bahuraan in any way.
Ok. Aamir sahab has joined us [sound of clearing throat] Muzamil Aslam from Mushir Khazana KP will welcome him.
Yes Muzammil, thank you very much for always making time for us. Starting from Energy, which is what I'm listening to a little bit, I have this Chris meter in front of me.
He is a great energy expert.
He has especially praised Pakistan that the biggest revolution has taken place in Pakistan in the whole world and it has come in Pakistan that from 0% here he has said that only 8% solar is left.
But perhaps it has already gone up to 25-26%.
He said that Pakistan has reached 44 from 46% fossil fuel and nuclear is also increasing but in solar and he says that the revolution of solar in Pakistan is not because of the government, despite the government 's efforts were only that since they made it so expensive, people have gone towards solar and the current government should promote it instead of that. The government is currently trying to suppress it.
So energy is the biggest issue in Pakistan, we still have gas, electricity and petrol prices, I would like you to explain the latest situation on this.
Yes Bismillah Rahma Rahim. Aamir Bhai, thank you very much for including me in the program. If you ask me, I have been covering the Mashhat for 202 years and when there was a fall in the Mashhat of Pakistan, there is only one reason behind it and that reason was the commodity super spike and when that commodity super spike happened, the oil prices used to increase and when the oil prices used to increase, then your stock of water exchange was not eaten by them like termites but they used to eat them like whale fish.
Okay, right? Suddenly, all the wealth that you had accumulated over two, four, five years would slowly get exhausted within months. And on the other hand, there is inflation because then you had to go to the IMF program. The first thing the IMF used to say was to increase interest rates and raise the exchange rate. Okay, right? Then the third thing he used to say was to end oil and gas subsidies. The fourth thing he used to say was to increase your electricity prices. What happened due to this was that your maternal activity and unemployment of the common man increased. Let me tell you first of all that Musharraf Sahib came in 2002.
He had a wonderful five years from 2002 to 2007.
And the economic gain that they had made in five years, you would remember in 2008 when the commodity super spike and meltdown of Lehman Brothers happened, because they did not increase the oil prices in five months and all these things, in five months Pakistan's reserves of foreign exchange were exhausted and then you had to freeze the stock market itself and then you went to the IMF program and IMF did this with you, then from 2008 to 2024, at least three or four times such cases came that when your efforts were ruined, the reason behind it was oil and gas and all these things. Now the public was suffering due to this for the last 20 years.
Now, before the solar boom, one thing that was available cheaply to the people in Pakistan was gas. You know about Sui Gas that there was a time when people used to keep the stove burning the whole night to save matchsticks because the gas bills did not come. Even today it is done frequently in homes and I face a lot of trouble in my home also because people have this old habit of keeping the gas burning to save the matchsticks.
Okay, right? Now what happened is that this time the gas also did not do well and there was load shedding of gas also.
Secondly, the gas prices also, earlier the gas bills used to be ₹200 in summers in our house, we have big houses, the bill used to be ₹250-300, sometimes the bill used to be ₹ 7,800, sometimes it has come, now it has started coming in thousands in summers also, you will remember that when the fundamental change happened, load shedding was happening, those who had money had installed gas generators in their homes and they were running electricity in their homes with the help of gas generators, so when the gas became expensive, people got used to the gas generators as well, thinking that this is too much, the story went further. So, what you just said is that the government has no interference in this matter. If there was no government interference, we would not have installed all the solar panels today. The government's interference in its implementation is so much that they increased the prices so much that people were forced to leave. Yes, Amal Dakh, Amalakh, yes Amal Dakh is his action, it is his humble request to the people, then he said that this matter is no longer worthy of being followed on the government's trust or whatever it is.
Now the issue is that solar is a good thing and Pakistan took full advantage of it because we were importing oil and gas from outside. Now the issue is that people have been saved from solar.
The government is in trouble, isn't it? Now the cases that the government has taken are what are called criminal cases. I will use the same word which is the IPP of 2015-16 and other things, how will the government come out of it now? Now the government is unable to get out of it.
So what is happening now? Finally, the government started imposing petroleum levy to meet its expenses. Petroleum levy, gas levy, let's say GIDC, which is being imposed on the industries, if you use gas then the gas bill, this government has not yet come to power, so we are still not free. I am telling you that you should not be happy that now that solar panels have been installed in our houses, we have saved our lives.
No, not me at all. Let me repeat exactly what I want to ask you, one of the things that is smelly in this well is the IPP issues. This issue will not be resolved without dealing with him and the government because there are a lot of people in it. That is made an excuse for China. Just like many times to avoid the rule of papra, FDO is put in saying that it is China. There are local partners from China here. Those who have made promises to China are Pakistani people. So because it is dirty and created by our own people, we are not cleaning it. Because of that, the bills of those who are stuck and are not on solar will keep increasing.
So until this issue is resolved, this solar issue which has happened by chance will not be resolved.
I want you to tell us the solution as to what should be done.
Look, the simple thing in this is that if the government now tries to reverse the issue, then it is said that the trust of the general world bodies in world affairs will be lost in Pakistan. Capitalism will not come to Pakistan.
So, in fact, you can see that despite all this hard work, it is not coming. Okay, right?
And in this, I firmly believe that if the government wants and if it has the will power, then it should ignore all these issues and listen to the matter. There is no such agreement in the world. If he is fraudulent and has such a grievance which does not meet the requirements of fairness.
You do this better than me, I just keep reminding the viewers because people forget what this is? These 32 are worth 30 to 32 billion dollars, out of which 9 billion in ₹32, understand that 9 billion is his total investment and that too he has made in the form of advances and loans.
They are taking capacity payments of ₹7 billion dollars annually.
He has already spent his money in a year or two.
Which is a little investment.
If we remain trapped for 25, 30 or 35 years in future, it will be an injustice. So this is a suggestion from Asad Umar Sahab that just as you have taken the liability of PIA once, please forgive us by saying whatever you want. Okay, if I made a mistake then let's save ourselves from this.
Is this possible?
Look, it is possible that there were local companies, like this happened with Hub Power and these local companies, you should see, you just said one thing that the extent of oppression, you got the Pakistani companies loans in rupees from the banks, you gave them extension in LCs, you got them extension in duties, you got them loans from the banks for the machinery they ordered and you gave them loans in dollars.
Ok? Now he also got the tax on Joe waived. If tax is waived then there is no tax on dividend also.
By the way, let me tell you this also.
He had also given tax exemption on the dividends of power companies. So as far as the foreign capitalists are concerned, you have given them some convenience.
Along with foreign capitalists, you also gave the same thing to the locals in dollars. Meaning, this was the only country in the world which said that invest in rupees and get returns in dollars.
You can estimate 27% 17% 18% on ROE, you gave them return on equity on IRR. That is, the profit of 100 rupees was that when they invested it, it was at ₹100 per dollar or even less than that, at ₹80, so it was at ₹200 from the latest because PTI had again put a cap on it, a cap of 148 per dollar was put, but the profit made above ₹100 dollars was double what they kept taking all these years, Aamir Bhai, whatever you have from me, you might have a little bit of that too, but I also remind you that the first profit of IPP happened in Pakistan in 94, when the policy of 94 came.
I remember very well that at that time your dollar was ₹25.
ok sir. You had given them a tariff of ₹25 per dollar.
In 2021, under the PTI rule, Khan Sahib capped the policy of ₹94 at ₹148. And then the second one which was given by Musharraf sahab in 2002, when Musharraf sahab was there in 2002, the dollar was worth ₹5860, that means you had locked it for ₹60 at ₹148, that $2 which was given by Nawaz Sharif sahab in 2015, the dollar was worth ₹104.95 at that time, you please check this. Okay, right? The investments made at 104.95 paise per dollar and the IPPs set up in this country still do not have a dollar cap. Even today they are charging ₹280 per litre and whether they continue or not. Now this Gwadar Port is yours.
Well, you have corrected me.
I had the impression that your government had put a cap on him. So those 280 ones are still making this profit at 280 despite being so concessional and having such low equity.
These are the ones installed after 2015. Okay, right? After 2015, Mian Saheb had installed 25,000 MW or 20,000 MW together. Ok? Then apart from this, your wind power ones after 2006 and these bagasse ones also do not have dollar cap. Okay, right? So a very big one called gun is lying behind.
So you guess, tell me one thing, now regarding this type of policy, now another new incident has come before you, as soon as something comes, incidents keep coming.
In 2002, Shaukat Aziz sahab had given this to the refineries and had told them that the benchmark of your margin will be the margins of Dubai, which is Dubai crude and these and now those margins, the local refinery was running on the same formula.
Look, they were having a profit and loss.
Following the same formula, when this crisis came, more than 50 percent of your diesel in the country was being refined in Pakistan.
You gave him $150 as margin. The thing which had $11 margin, he gave $50. Well, let me tell you one more interesting thing today.
This noise was created when our friend Ali Khajar and Miftah Ismail Sahib did this work on the first day and the Petroleum Minister and the Finance Minister came to Peshawar. I told him this at that very moment. I said, brother, change this diesel margin. What are you doing? Or impose a windfall tax. Then when the meeting took place in Wazir Azam House, I again raised this issue and when I said this, it was said that friend, if we start the matter now, then at this time we have oil reserves for a very short time. It may happen that the refineries do not arrange again and there is a shortage of boron in the country. This is understandable till here.
So if we look back at the contracts we have made, may Allah forgive us.
Leave this matter now, don't let it go too far. You just get the issues that we have raised with the Karachi port reopened in the last two years.
What are these benefits and at what rate have we given them and after that there is the shipping charge, I am very interested in its details. I had slightly cast a glance at it but I did not understand it. Please tell me the details of this.
Sir, these two, three, four ports in Karachi, which we have just signed contracts with in the last one or two years, have also returned the money from there.
You should find out the details of those contracts.
You will also see that we have done this with the same open heart that we did earlier in IPPs. Okay, right? In fact, your choice of words also becomes a little more important than that.
You are saying that the property which belongs to your father has been looted before.
This time also the same thing is being done. But what I want to understand, coming back to solar, is that even a child can understand that now on solar, earlier they were getting electricity worth ₹27. Now they are selling it for ₹11.
Then they have put a check that permission will also be taken from Zee Nepra. There will be a license. So people are going off grade.
People do not want the government, they are generating their own electricity at home by buying batteries and they are saying goodbye to the government. What will happen is that those who are not on solar will be further squeezed. Electricity is already very expensive for them. It goes up to 45 50 55.
So this will be 7080 because ₹200 billion capacity payment has to be made.
If you do not do anything about it, then the remaining consumers who are stuck, the non-solar ones, they will be killed, so some solution will have to be found for this. Look, I will tell you a slightly modified version of the solution given by Asad Umar Sahab.
Why do you actually have to pay more capacity payment? The reason for this is that Mashaallah, the people who have installed the plant have been told that the loan they have taken for this will be repaid in 10 years.
Ok?
But the government has purchased electricity from them for 40 years. That means it is guaranteed that we will buy electricity from you for the next 40 years. Now what is happening is that the loan which is to be repaid in 10 years, the entire plant which is to retire in 40 years, you are getting its payment done in 10 years.
Because of that your capacity payment has become very high. The way to do this is to match it 40 with 40.
If you are buying electricity for 40 years, then taking the example of that plant, I will explain it to you in simple words that if you take a house on mortgage for 10 years, then your EMI will become very big, Mahana. Okay, right?
But if you get the same house on a 25-year or 30-year mortgage, your EMI will be much smaller. When that installment becomes smaller then it will not be a burden on you.
So, if they had paid the cost of that plant, which is $25 billion or $30 billion, in 40 years, then your capacity payment would have become one-third of what it is now, this is what they have to do.
Now I am not able to do this. They are not able to negotiate. Well, the other person also says that I did not explain it to you.
You have done it yourself openly. You have shown so much speed.
We were the same people sitting on this side of the table in front of us.
They were sitting among themselves. There is no doubt about that. But but but but in that, what you are talking about 40 years, 35 years, please explain to me that Pakistan has these 30-40 years, the figures are lying in front of me right now.
For example, inflation, which is again CPI, your Consumer Price Index, has reached 12%. Your Ah Sensitive Price Index has gone to 1516.
So, just like the petrol levy that you are taking within Rs 414, there is a levy of Rs 14 in it.
Probably the overall tax they are charging is probably ₹140. And they are scaring that IMF, yesterday the minister was saying that we may have to increase this levy to ₹10.
So how will this subsistence work?
So expensive petrol, so expensive gas, so expensive electricity, what will the common man do?
Look, Aamir Sahab, I don't know what I should say. This should not be said. For God's sake, if you don't speak, who will? Look, you took 24 IMF programmes. Okay, right? Historically, Isk Dar Sahib completed an IMF program in 24. Ok? And in one program you said that the health of our Mashta has improved a lot. So we want to finish the IMF program quickly.
That was probably the era of Shaukat Aziz Sahib. It was 2003, it was four. It was such a year. Apart from that, you left all the IMF programs prematurely. Okay, right?
Leaving prematurely or understanding prematurely means that there is political pressure on you which you left wrongly. Because of which you had to go back to the IMF program.
I think it's been two years since you've been in this IMF program. Now you have, Majid, I think maybe 18 months of this IMF program remaining from July. Okay, right? If you request the IMF that brother, please do not give us the installment. We do not leave the program and whatever you are telling us that there should be this much loss, we agree with that loss.
But leave it to us how to make up for that loss. That means we have to cut our expenses or increase our income. We will decide that. You should not micromanage us.
You should not tell us to keep the oil rate like this, the electricity rate like this, the gas rate like this, the custom tariff like this. Okay, right? Keep this tax on salaried people. Do n't tell us this. Let us decide how to manage what we have.
And for that, you have undoubtedly given us a program worth $7 billion.
You freeze it at $ billion, freeze it at five.
We want to be in the program. We agree with you on all the broad numbers but give us its micro management.
Look, this government should show some courage. These words which are said to be very good did not come out of my mouth. I use very few words which are called obedient words. We have moved towards obedience and are afraid of what will happen if we leave. Now did you take the IMF program so that you could get FDI? FDI did not come. You took the IMF program thinking that your credit rating would improve, but that did not happen. Your credit rating is for 2022. I have just gone to the balm and it has become difficult. Okay, right? You took the IMF program so that people would support you.
One of your people comes and says that it is very nice. You do one thing here, tell them that we agree with you on these benchmarks.
But we disagree on what L levy to impose or tax target, we may keep our tax target low. Increase the non-tax target or increase the tax target by reducing the non-tax target.
This is currently in Bangladesh IMF program.
They have increased the levy by 60% and they have increased it by 16%.
He is also in talks with IMS.
So this scope exists here too. But let me just add to this. So these frightening things that you are saying, for me there is another big fear that our lifeline is FDI, as you mentioned, our exports which are 8% have gone down. The most dangerous thing for me is the aberration of I hope and this way it may get better after a month, that remittances have gone down by 8% in April.
I just hope that this anomaly is okay at the right time.
11% year to year, if the situation in UAE or Saudi Arabia or Gulf affects the details then where will we go?
Amar Saheb, let me remind you of the program I did with you about a month or two ago.
I had said one thing. I said that as long as remittances were 5% of Pakistan's GDP, it was fine. Now our reliance on remittances has come down to 10%. That means an effort of $40 billion and $400 billion. Well, I am not interested in that 40 billion dollars.
I would like to say that out of that 40 billion dollars, I was checking today's data and I found that 55% of your remittances are from Saudi Arabia and UAE. The concentration of your remittances from one place. This is not a good thing. It should be diversified. Ok.
Now, there is already one in it, not just one, but this entire region can be said to be facing trouble right now. So now I understand that whatever time you have received money from outside in the form of remittances, you should consider it as a bonus. Now if you put your coolness on this or rely on it, then it is absolutely right for you, you will not be able to pursue this hobby.
Absorb that hobby, which means you should take some major for it right now.
You should look at your exports, like the exports you used for the words, and see what can be done in it. You should bring such an investment policy that your taxes, that is, foreign investments, start coming in.
You should not talk about investment policy. It is going into the negative. This is the work of years and this is the current situation of Pakistan.
Just like you just told that in Europe or outside where we go to take loan.
Nothing good is coming our way at the moment.
This is a long story. But I am very scared to hear this from you because I want your attention towards one more thing.
I want you to tell the viewers also that this is lying in front of me right now, the government's State Bank's statement comes that the micro economy has become very stable, it is tremendous and the leaders praise each other in many titles and terms, the finance people say that they have done a great job, they say that the energy people have done a great job, the Prime Minister says that everyone has done a great job, I am thinking that you please explain this to me, the budget is also going to come that our trade deficit has gone up to 32 billion dollars.
Imports have increased by 89% and exports have gone down by 8%. Just now Hafiz Pasha Sahib was saying that there is a danger of the current account deficit increasing to 7 billion dollars.
So how will this gap be filled, more than this neither exports will come nor foreign investment and remittances are also in danger, so what will happen then how deep is that crisis, how serious is the issue, I will look at this crisis in a parallel because when you give an example in front of a parallel then a little understanding can be gained that yes friend, is this a crisis or not. Now at this time there is no comparison between our efforts and India's.
India has the last I check, perhaps you were also mentioning that 10% of our GDP is on remittances.
He only has 3s. Although they have double the remittances than us, it is only 3% of their economy.
Please continue.
Now, the reserves that I had last time may be less than this, I apologize for this in advance.
Last I checked, they had reserves of $700 billion. Okay, right? If not 700, it would be 600 now. You can check how many while talking to me so that your friends can know.
Ok?
Now after that, what speech does their Prime Minister give the day after tomorrow?
He says that you should leave every work which involves spending foreign exchange. He says stop buying gold. She said skip the destination wedding. He said that whatever things you are buying from foreign countries, leave them for use for some time and he said that you can work from home. He said, whatever you want, get the car cooled. Now the world's largest refinery is located in Jamunagar.
You know that India's largest refinery in the world is from there.
Ok? Now, you might have seen the speech of that man with 700 billion dollars to his people the day before yesterday. It has passed my sight.
If you get a chance, please listen to his speech and this Kalwal. See, this is leadership. He is telling his community what they have to do? How to do it?
What are you and what are your next steps?
We here are capitalists, well, in India, I am one of the best in the world because they have so many reserves, because their ribs are so high, so they have kept zero levy on petroleum, this hobby of petrol. Although their income is double ours. So what do our people say about this?
They have reserves of $690 billion.
Look, I told you, 700, when I last checked, I have n't seen it for two weeks and 15 days. Now, just tell me one thing that those people there also have reserves for 80-100 days.
Despite that he is saying these things.
Foreign Direct Investment: Apple took its entire setup there. Nevada is building its largest building in the world there. That Amazon guy is sitting there. Vehicles are being manufactured there. Whatever manufacturing was going on here has also stopped. Okay, right? And we are sitting here and giving the message that we do n't know what we have done. I mean, sometimes I hear Wazir Azam Sahib saying that you are saying that the ministers should praise each other. He is saying that the world praises us for the way we survived. Now what is he holding on to? There are some videos where there was a queue at some petrol pump and they say that there was a ruckus there in India. We did not allow any disturbance in this country.
That Vajra is saying team and look here, a little levy has been imposed on you. Let me tell you one reason why there was no uproar, that solar saved us, those who have solar, many times they use it for stoves, not just one, sir, let me tell you one thing, not in solar wool, solar wool would be one, there were uproars at their places because of LPG, sir, I apologize to you, has there been any saving from solar etc., at one place, extra money has been spent at 10 places, that is not the reason, I have thought a lot about this, I have discussed this a lot with people. These are the two or three reasons due to which Allah Taala manages the affairs of the people in this country.
One thing is that we have a joint family system here. Okay, right? If one person's condition worsens, the other supports him. Okay, right? Secondly, our biggest problem is that we have a lot of charity here.
Okay, right? You will see that it will be Ramadan.
Now Bakra Eid will come when the poor people do not eat meat the whole year. There is so much gosh that people cannot get enough of it. So these are three or four things due to which it does not become a problem in our country. Is this some solar or some other income support scheme provided by the government? I enjoy you a lot because you are able to explain very difficult things to the people in a very easy way, like the issue of inflation and the reasons behind the inflation of gas, electricity and petrol. So for this you will have to do a program of one, two or four hours.
Today our time is over, so Insha Allah we will trouble you again after a few days.
Absolutely and what Muzamil Sahab was talking about, again charity is a big factor, 590 billion annually, this is also the stats of our charity from some time back.
Thank you very much Mujamil Aslam sir, you talked to us very insightfully and here it is time for a break. We will continue the discussion after the break.
Stay with us.
[Music] Welcome back and with us is Mumtaz Wangash, Bureau Chief, 92 News Peshawar.
Yes Aamir sahab, Bange sahab, this is a very disturbing news that nine people have gone missing in Sarai Nurang Bazaar in Lucky Marwat, in which two policemen were martyred and yesterday there was an attack on the police station in Banu and that police station has been attacked six times before as well, 15 policemen were martyred there and in these three months it is said that these incidents of terrorism have taken place in 45-75 KP.
Around 85 terrorists have also been killed in 16-14 Ala.
So is this such a new wave that has come suddenly? What is happening?
Thank you sir, what you have said is obvious but let me tell you one thing that in the last four months, if you mention, then here 35 people have taken note, most of them are policemen, apart from this there are people from security forces and some citizens also, so the situation is not that it has worsened this month, even in 2025 the situation was quite bad. When there were 1752 attacks in 2000-25, at that time only 430 attacks had taken place in Bannu and in that 502 people were martyred. The series of Naukash attacks has been going on for a long time but the issue is that there is a kind of silence in this, hence you can say that the news is the responsibility of the government, obviously the situation is the responsibility of others.
Even the Chief Minister has a big responsibility.
But the most common situation is that the financial situation of the state is so bad that the police have been provided with equipment here. He has been given a lot of basic equipment. Even the things that make him useless have been given to him. The night vision equipment has also been given to them.
But still, the purpose of the police is to make it capable of taking action against terrorists.
It requires huge funding.
And the way the Chief Minister has been saying that the dues from the department are not being paid, if they were paid then at least the lockdown situation would have been improved. So, along with their weaknesses in this regard, it is a fact that the state does not have the funds to maintain all the police infrastructure that you mentioned. 15 policemen are missing.
If the infrastructure was like this, and a large ammunition vehicle would not have destroyed the infrastructure, then perhaps there would not have been so much damage. That outpost has completely collapsed and people were removing the debris and work continued till morning. There were big bulldozers and the officials were removed and only three were taken out, the rest of them were martyred. So, there is a lack of infrastructure, apart from this, there is a lack of equipment, sir. These are very troublesome matters.
We will discuss it in detail here because the network also meets with Afghanistan and India. The Foreign Office has called the Afghan officials and got their tests registered on this. We will talk about this.
But I want to say that we have limited time. But this lady drug dealer from Karachi, Anmol alias [ __ ], her statements have shaken the entire Pakistan at this time.
One, off course, someone is calling him a drug dealer. Someone is calling him Cocaine King and some audio of his is also going viral.
But the most painful thing for him is to be told that he has been wanting it for 10 years. But the manner in which she was presented in the court and the way she was walking confidently and a police officer was following her and giving her directions, it troubled the people here a lot and the reason for the trouble is that recently, just the day before yesterday, in this very Karachi city, Sheema Kirmani and the women who were doing a peaceful protest on the Aurat March, the manner in which they were bundled up, beaten, pushed into vehicles and harassed, they were respectable educated women, not just professionals and the manner in which journalists or politicians are brought to the courts here in handcuffs.
This colleague of ours, Fr. Rehman Sahib, was picked up in Pika a few days ago and has been handcuffed for 30 years. The poor man is a very respectable man. He was doing very respectable journalism and the way he was insulted and brought to the courts. It is also done with politicians. It is also done with Safis. These are civil society activists who work for the welfare of the society. Let's contribute. The way they are brought in their place and this lady because she is a drug dealer and for the last 10 years, one gets disturbed after knowing her details that she was doing this for the last 10 years, she was selling online, her riders were present and it is found that food was not reaching as quickly as drugs and cocaine were reaching the house and she was doing this for the last 10 years, an audio of her is also existing in which she is saying that if you can stop me then stop me. So this is a kind of slap on our society, on our judicial and administrative system and police system. I understand. And I would definitely like to say one more thing lastly, there are a lot of complaints about the attitude of the women in Pakistan and our police force. These police stations were created because it was thought that they would probably treat women better. But this is because they have become accustomed to the fact that the more they harass political protesters, the more they progress.
So now they do not differentiate as to who is a civil society activist. Who is a political activist or a criminal, no one needs anyone in the criminal profession. Look at the way he looks like a police inspector, an officer. They are taking him away and the matter is being handled with great respect and inside also, perhaps Rabia Bibi was telling me that you will see that this case will continue for two-four days and then he might get bail and she has already said this in her Mubaina audio that I do not need anyone like you to do anything with me.
So we will continue to follow up on this in detail.
But I stopped all these other things and said that it is very important to mention this.
Yes, these are some serious questions that definitely arise and we will try to follow this story as long as it remains in the public domain.
Thank you very much. Mumtaz Bangash was present with us. We were chatting and here the program time is over.
Thanks for watching. Please allow me. Allah Hafiz.
