It's been a great experience so far. The people I met here have been absolutely amazing.

[00:02:12]People treated [music] me so well. And besides that, the people here have great English. They speak English very well.

[00:02:19]You know, you can understand them.

[00:02:20]People are very nice, at least the [music] ones that I met. Now, the other reason is the city. Unlike most cities [music] that I've been in, has a lot of greenery, a lot of trees. [music] For me at least, it's not common to see. I spent a few days in Bangkok. It was nice and all, but air quality [music] is pretty low as opposed to here. Like the air is very breathable. [music] You would not expect that when you come here. It's so developed. In fact, I don't think we have anything like that in Europe. Like with [music] modern buildings and all that. We might have, but still this is [music] this is a great place. So, I'm impressed. I love Malaysia very much. I've been to Malaysia 10 times. 10? Yes.

[00:03:02]>> Yeah. Long, long flights.

[00:03:05]And um just I I just love the Malaysian people with their good manners and and I love every I Southeast Asia, I just love Southeast Asia, you [music] know?

[00:03:16]I If I had a choice, I'd be just born there. Like the fruits, the the the weather. I have energy there. I really love Southeast Asia. So, I really love Malaysia. And they are amazing.

[00:03:27]>> They are. They are the most gentle, kindest people. [music] Yeah. And one of the other main reasons is because they they have signs that say "Beware [music] of the elephants" and "Beware of the tigers" because there are still wild elephants and wild tigers >> Tigers? There's tigers there? Yeah. Wow.

[00:03:42]Uh not everywhere. Don't worry. So, you're not in KL. Not in KL, but yeah, the the Asian tigers are wild in Malaysia, and I just think that is insane [music] to to to say.

[00:03:52]>> [laughter] >> Yeah, the jungle as well. It's a scenery is mind-blowing.

[00:03:56]>> do the drive a lot literally like once a week at the moment and I just it it's like you know if you've seen King Kong the opening scene with the helicopter coming.

[00:04:04]That's like what I drive through to come from Penang down to KL. Um yeah, that that's and in a nutshell with a few little you know variations, but yeah, that that's it's just a beautiful place.

[00:04:14]>> The one thing that I like about Malaysia and I was truly [music] impressed that at least that stuck with me when I saw younger people with greet [music] older people. So for example, me, if I were to greet someone who's [music] 60, 65, 70, I would take their hand and not just shake it, but take their hand and [music] kiss it or take their hand and touch it with my forehead. I saw it and when I saw it, I was deeply impressed. I was deeply [music] impressed. I must say this. It was really beautiful to see.

[00:04:44]Every young person would do that. There are maybe other things which are a little controversial for some people.

[00:04:51]Some people would find it controversial.

[00:04:53]I observed this. [music] Men would sit at the table and then their woman would go and bring food and you know, bring plates with food and put them [music] in front of them and so on.

[00:05:03]You can say whatever you want about this. I enjoyed that not because the men were served and the women are [music] slaves to the men or anything like that because I could see I could see the woman did not mind and they were actually [music] happy to do so. The woman would consider this here as being a way to cherish their men, [music] a way to show respect to their men. On the other hand, I'm sure the man is respecting their woman as well. I like that. I like that.

[00:05:28]I think, you know, it's good to recognize men and women have different roles. I appreciated that and I took it as a sign of respect towards their men, commitment and love. [00:05:53]>> [music] >> We woke up at 4:30 a.m. to leave our hotel by 5:00. The trains were on a special schedule for Merdeka Day, and they even had a free shuttle bus directly to the parade from the train station. We got there by 5:30 a.m. even though the parade didn't start marching by us until 8:30, and we were not alone.

[00:06:23]We finally settled into a spot, waited for the show to start while watching the sunrise. [music] We couldn't see the opening ceremony from where we sat, so someone kindly put up the live stream on their phone for us to all [music] watch.

[00:06:33]Finally, the parade started, and the crowd was amped. Everyone cheered every time a baton was thrown. The firefighters loved the crowd just as much as the crowd loved them. There were boats, dogs, horses, missile launchers, tanks, and more.

[00:06:50]Somehow, after 17,000 people marched by, the show was still not over, and we got to see dozens of military helicopters and planes fly over.

[00:07:09]>> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Malaysia I got train today. Oh my God, I love this city. Oh my God, y'all train is so sophisticated. It's so clean. It's so safe. It's not crowded.

[00:08:33]>> [music] >> It's like I mean if this is a world-class transportation system, y'all. It is absolutely beautiful. I mean it's not crowded at all and there's not a driver driving the train here, y'all. This thing is the MRT.

[00:08:47]I kind of messed up the line here, but everything's very organized. That's me messing up the organization getting on the train right now. But guys, we were underground for a little while then we went on top, y'all. It is absolutely phenomenal. We got to see all the big buildings y'all got. We took this train all the way to Kajang from you know, like the Chow Kit area. I did not know y'all had so many big skyscrapers, multi use development tall buildings here.

[00:09:20]Like you can stop >> [music] >> You can You can stop and be in the mall on the train. Like that's unheard of. I heard y'all have like a smart tunnel system here. Y'all look, I am so impressed Malaysia and I took the train to get some satay. So tune in to the next video to see that.

[00:10:32]I've never seen this level of energy, unity, diversity, and togetherness in one place. Join me to see how special Malaysia Day is. This year's theme was ethnicity and you could clearly see that from the second you stepped [music] into Dataran Merdeka. Practically, everyone was wearing traditional costume representing their ethnicity and the [music] colors, intricacy, and the beauty was literally all around. I didn't know there were so many types of traditional outfits, but what's even more beautiful was how proudly Malaysians represented their identity. I couldn't stop admiring everyone looking absolutely incredible. Everyone at the event was glowing [music] with positive energy and the true spirit of togetherness was visible at every corner. You saw a lot of spontaneous acts like sudden dancing, singing, and mingling together regardless of race and background. You could see the same excitement performing to Malay, Indian, and Chinese songs. Everyone was super welcoming and kind. The countless smiles, waves, and conversations made my heart melting every minute. Malaysia's representations was not only visible in the beautiful costumes around. You could witness plenty of traditional performances, arts, and crafts from various regions, and it really showcased how rich and deep Malaysia's culture is.

[00:11:38]Being Polish, it was so eye-opening for me as we are not a multicultural society. I really wish to see more events that unite Malaysians like this.

[00:11:46]Big kudos to the organizers, Locco, for reminding everyone of what Malaysia means. And I'm so grateful to be able to celebrate this day with Malaysians. It was a truly inspiring, touching, uplifting, and energizing experience.

[00:11:59]How did you celebrate today, and what does Malaysia Day mean to you? So, for British people looking a foreign relocation, I would highly recommend the country of Malaysia, and particularly the major city of Kuala Lumpur, because there is such a strong British heritage here in Malaysia. People speak English, the cars are right-hand drive, and there is a long history of good relations with the UK. People are welcoming to all foreign citizens, especially British citizens, and it's a really nice lifestyle here in the center of Kuala Lumpur. I mean, you've got amazing buildings, you've got amazing standards of living for a very, very low cost. And so, British people can really do a lot worse than to move over here to Malaysia. And the way to get residency, everyone can look this up online, is through the MM2H program, where you essentially spend a minimum of $150,000.

[00:12:55]You get a residency permit in the country for minimum 10 years. You can bring your spouse, you can bring your children, and you can bring your car over here to Malaysia. You can live and work in a very, very comfortable, pleasant, friendly environment, and really start to enjoy life.
