Does Teen Culture Even Exist Anymore ?

I don't know what I'm going to title this just yet, but I was inspired by Tanner um by his tangent podcast. Um he's so funny. I think you guys know who Tanner is. He's very funny. If you hear anything in the background, it's me driving. But yeah, um I don't know what the title is, but when he titled the podcast, it said, "Does teenagers even exist anymore?" And I might title it that, but it just depends. But yeah, let's get into it.

[00:00:41]So, do teenagers exist?

[00:00:45]Yes and no. But the reason why they don't is because of the parents. So, I'm driving, right? And I'm going to merge onto the highway. And I saw a teenager, they going to their game and I saw that they were drinking an energy drink.

[00:01:06]And I'm like, "Okay, they got a game to go to, so they probably need some energy." But she's a kid.

[00:01:14]Why does a teenager I don't even know if they was a teenager. They do a lot pre-teen to me, but they might was like 13, 14. They they they they're teenager, but they're young. Um, but it's just like, why do you need an energy drink?

[00:01:31]Why is your kid drinking energy drinks?

[00:01:34]They can drink the what's it called? The electrolyte. What's it called? Um, with the water, I forgot what's this called? Um, you could get it in the baby section. Um, something with electrolytes. They can drink that. Like Gatorade, they can drink that.

[00:01:52]But a energy drink. I was like I had to keep looking straight because I'm like, "Girl, what the heck?" Cuz I was was looking at the mama like, "What's wrong with you? Why is your kid drinking energy drinks?"

[00:02:06]A teenager.

[00:02:08]Yeah, we used to drink Monster when we was kids cuz we thought we were cool.

[00:02:13]But these kids are not doing that to be cool. They're doing this because they think, well, that is they is trying to be cool. uh their parents. But the thing is, that's the thing. The reason why we was drinking that stuff cuz our parents really wasn't paying attention to us and they weren't. We in 2026 and a lot of y'all parents should be ashamed of yourselves. It's so sad to see how many of y'all are just letting your kids just raise themselves. It's insane.

[00:02:41]You're literally just letting them raise theirelves. And you don't think that's sad? You don't think that's like [ __ ] up?

[00:02:49]They literally are raising themselves.

[00:02:52]Like they really are. Like people want to say, "Oh, there's no, if you hear anything, it's bumps." Um, "Oh, there's no TV shows for kids." Yes, they are.

[00:03:02]Um, teenagers can watch the shows that we used to watch. Um, they don't have to watch YouTube all day. They don't have to watch TV um Twitch streamings all day. You're choosing to let your child watch that stuff every day. So you wondering why if they exist anymore was because the parents want to be lazy.

[00:03:19]That's it. The parents are lazy. They're lazy as [ __ ] Oh, I'm trying not to cuss on YouTube, but they're lazy. They're lazy as [ __ ] They're They're lazy.

[00:03:30]They're so lazy. They don't want to watch these kids. They get They complain every time when they do something. They They just don't care about these kids no more. They don't. I see it every day.

[00:03:40]Mostly these teenagers. Every time I see these teen teenagers at school, they all wearing the same thing. They all wearing hoodies and booty shorts. The girls, then the guys are wearing Nike sweatsuits. Everybody's wearing the exact same thing. There's no style.

[00:03:54]Nobody has style anymore.

[00:03:57]They have no style. Then people would be like, "Oh my god, you're just trying to dress for approval." No, it's just y'all have no personality. None of these teenagers have personalities no more.

[00:04:06]They always going to Sephora buying up all these products. They buying skincare. They don't need skinincare.

[00:04:11]They at the gym. It's summer time now.

[00:04:13]They at the gym. They all at the gym for what?

[00:04:18]For what? They're all at the gym. For what? Trying to get bulk. For what? You are as a teenage 13year-old boy.

[00:04:27]They taking steroids. It's drinking four to five energy drinks every day. They're drinking protein stuff. They don't need none of that stuff.

[00:04:37]And you think this is okay. Then you want to blame the influencers. Then you want to blame the Twitch streamers that your kid is doing weird stuff when it's your fault that you letting them watch this stuff. And when it's your fault that they're doing this stuff to begin with.

[00:04:53]How terrible parent are you?

[00:04:56]You are a terrible parent.

[00:05:00]You're failing your kids. You're failing them. They You're straight up failing your kids. You're failing them.

[00:05:11]They they they get failed, you know, and people like, "Oh, I wish we can watch, you know, cable again."

[00:05:17]There's cable TV. I don't That's the thing. I don't know why a lot of y'all are like waiting for everybody else to join in when you can literally watch cable TV right now. You can literally go buy Infinity, go get you a cable box, and go watch some Disney Channel on the Disney Channel network. You can literally go do that, but you don't want to because you're all lazy. You want to wait for everybody else to join in. You don't want to be left out.

[00:05:44]So, back to my question, like Tanner said, does teenagers exist anymore? Yes, but the parents are lazy.

[00:05:53]That's it. The parents are lazy. They don't want to they don't want they not teaching kids to have individualism.

[00:06:01]This is why they're doing everything that everybody else is doing. Y'all are so easily influenced, especially and it's so sad that life in death was crazy. Parents, you know how easily influenced that you were growing up and why would you let your kid make that same mistake? Even worse now.

[00:06:17]I saw this kid. At first, I was like, "Oh, this is an adult." I looked, he was a whole teenager.

[00:06:23]A lot of y'all are not graduating at 18.

[00:06:25]A lot of y'all are graduating at 17, 16.

[00:06:27]You're not grown. You're still young. 17 is young.

[00:06:31]He dabbing. He's smoking vape and stuff.

[00:06:34]I'm like, "Oh my god.

[00:06:36]Is this who we are?

[00:06:39]Where is he buying it from?" I I know like you can buy that stuff from other people, but like oh my god, the mom and dad y'all have a clintro son back um bedroom and haven't seen that. Where's the interventions for these kids?

[00:06:57]The reason why I preach for teenagers to watch more nostalgic shows is because now with teenage shows, that's why I didn't I watched Heartbreak High season 2, season 1, but I'm not watching the last season.

[00:07:13]And the only reason why is because I think it's nudity in what intimacy in it. I'm not sure if it is in this season, but I know that last season it had a brief of it. And that's what I be talking about. This is supposed to be a teenager show and it's too much intimacy.

[00:07:35]It's too much like Euphoria. Now, that was No, they they a lot of high It was like that though. A lot of high schools they they just was like it. They just was like E4.

[00:07:47]Like I I I've been there. I see. I saw I saw it with my own eyes. But besides that, but it's just like every show you watch, Elite. The show Elite, it's all intimacy. Intimacy. Intimacy. But you're supposed to be a teenager. So, high school. Um, Exocitty is a perfect show.

[00:08:06]Oh my god. Exocitty is a perfect teenager show. Oh my. I don't think it was. No, they I think they kissed it a few times, but that's about it. That show right there, baby. Oh my god. And that just ended. I think it was season 3 cuz um Kitty is going to graduate. I hope they do a um senior I mean I hope they do a um college, but they're not. But I hope so.

[00:08:30]But baby, that that show Oh my god. Your teenager needs to watch that. Like seriously. Yeah. But it's just it just doesn't feel right with kids wanting to be adults. And people would be like, "Oh my gosh, that was us though." Da da da.

[00:08:49]It wasn't right then. This is why now I'm like, "Oh my god, y'all letting these kids literally become adults too early." Like, I'm seeing freshly 18 year olds getting BBLs, getting lip filler, getting all of this stuff done. Like I was listening to Kylie. She was on um J Shane's podcast and she was just was talking about how like well she wasn't really saying it but basically how fast she grew up like she got with her baby daddy at the time and then they she she they hurried up and had a baby like I think she was like 19 you know like her life changed before her eyes like it just she was like but still she dated two grown men at such a young age like she really never got a chance to be a child and it's just sad like how these parents are just letting these kids like letting these adults be their role model when I don't like that role model thing, but it's just like basically letting these adults raise them. It's just weird.

[00:09:54]And another thing I think about um also is that um there are teen singers out here like Olivia Rodrigo was a perfect example. There are teenager um singers out here etc. It's just I don't know.

[00:10:13]It's just parents are failing these kids. They're felling these teenagers and they growing up way too fast. And it's like, but the thing I remember about when I was a kid, we may wanted to be adults, but we also was being a kid at the same time.

[00:10:32]There's not that anymore. Kids don't really have TV shows to watch unless they watching nostalgic ones, which parents you need to have them watch like Victorious or Carly, etc. And that's really about it because all I'm seeing now, like Tanner was talking about, is teenagers coming on the internet, rage baiting, talking so much crap to everybody, being mean to everybody. It's just it's it's it's disgusting. And I just hope it gets better. Do I think it will? Probably not. Because parents are they suck. Like you're not watching your kids like you're not you don't even want to talk to them. You're not even teaching them individual val individualism like you're not teaching them that indiv it's a big word indiv you know what I meant but um you just not teaching them to be their own person and it's it's sad it's really is like and I could tell because the reason why a lot of these teenagers are the way they are is because their parents didn't read to them at five to six months they wasn't playing puzzles with them they wasn't on the floor doing tummy time they wasn't doing none of that they just put them in the the walker and put them in the swing set and let them just play with theirelves. Like they may was holding them here and there, but that's about it. They weren't teaching them anything because you don't feel attached to your teenage son. You don't feel attached to your teenage daughter. And you wonder why they growing up so fast.

[00:12:03]Like seriously, you think I would have my teenager watch some elite? You think I will have my te teenager watch some um what's another show?

[00:12:14]Heartbreak. Well, Heartbreak High was It has some nudity.

[00:12:20]You think I would have them watch Euphoria at 14, 16 years old? 16 maybe.

[00:12:27]But like 14, 15, uh-uh. Uh-uh.

[00:12:33]Like no. Like no.

[00:12:37]And then people are like, "Oh, well, you know, it's hard." No, it's not. You're not teaching your kid to be theirelves.

[00:12:44]You're not teaching a kid to have their own personality. You're not teaching them that. And then you wonder why they're doing what other kids are doing.

[00:12:51]The only reason why the other kids are doing what they do, cuz their parents don't care for them.

[00:12:56]Like Kiki Palmer just was talking about um on this um this video, but like how they watched this explicit video. And I remember I saw when I was a kid, it just was like, like she said, like our parents just were not protecting protecting us at that time. And they weren't. They were not protecting us.

[00:13:16]They weren't. And that's the thing.

[00:13:19]That's why we have to do better. But it's just like people just I I would say they're burnt out, but I they're really not. They're just choosing not to raise these teenagers. Like all I see is these teenagers every day is depressed.

[00:13:34]They're not ready to go into this real world and then people want to blame all these school system but you still have to be a parent at the end of the day.

[00:13:40]You know these teachers don't really do anything with these kids. You already know that. So you as a parent need to do better.

[00:13:49]Period.

[00:13:51]So yeah, stop having your teenager becoming a little adult and have them become a teenager again.

[00:13:59]Give them color. Give them pinks, purple, greens.

[00:14:03]Take this to the amusement park, you know, have fun with your child.

[00:14:10]Let them know it's okay. Like, tell them the real raw at being adult and they will think differently of their actions.

[00:14:16]I'm pretty sure they will.

[00:14:18]It will be hard, but it's better for you to try now than later.

[00:14:24]Cuz this adult world is not it. And I'm tired of kids like see I'm tired of seeing teenagers becoming adults. like you need to really literally enjoy your teenage years. You need to paint your nails. You need to play with dolls. You need to be, you know, spend your parents' money. You don't need to be worried about going to work. And I that's another thing. And the reason why a lot of teenagers don't exist anymore cuz they working jobs are [ __ ] um freaking 14, 15. Well, they need their own money. Baby, there they need to be a child.

[00:15:06]When I see these little kids working at these certain jobs, I'm like, "Y'all, it's too young." I remember when I was working on my job. I was working with all adults. And I hated it.

[00:15:16]It didn't feel right. There's no teen jobs where teenagers are all working with teenagers.

[00:15:23]There's no, you know, Chuck-E-Cheese like that no more. There's no, you know, kids places. There's no ice cream shops, but just teenagers. It's all adults.
