Malaria is a life-threatening disease caused by Plasmodium parasites transmitted through infected female Anopheles mosquito bites, characterized by symptoms like fever, chills, sweating, fatigue, headache, and nausea; it is highly endemic in South Sudan due to favorable climate conditions for mosquito breeding, limited access to diagnostic testing and treatment, and insecurity affecting health services, with prevention measures including insecticide-treated bed nets and indoor residual spraying to kill mosquitoes.
