The video exposes the EU's oil sanctions as a hollow intellectual fantasy that collapses the moment it faces real-world energy shortages. It perfectly illustrates how high-level political posturing is consistently humbled by the unforgiving laws of global economics.

Russian oil sanctions retreat. Bulgaria austerity, Poland shock. Trump edits Iran dealAdded:
What is leadership in this new in this new age? And I think we are going in a in an age where let's go back to the industrial age.
What is the industrial age do? It replaced our physical activities by the machine. What is the intelligent age doing? It is replacing our cognitive capabilities by algorithm by or what we call now artificial intelligence. So what does it mean for leadership? And I think you maybe are surprised.
>> Yeah, >> we have to do exactly in terms of leadership thinking the contrary of what technology is doing.
In order to master this new intelligent age, we have to remind ourselves much more what creates really a human being, what makes us human.
>> This is my video update on this Sunday afternoon, May the 31st, coming to you from Moscow.
Let's talk about some news. And before we get into our main news stories, let me say a quick thank you to everyone that is liking this video, to everyone that is subscribed to this channel, and to everyone that is smashing that hype button. Thank you so much for liking, for hyping, for commenting, and uh for subscribing.
Let's uh let's discuss what is happening in the news today.
And we can start things off with a Bloomberg article which is claiming that the European Union is considering a temporary freeze to its price cap on Russian oil.
All of this because of the the war in the Middle East, the war against Iran, the USC blockade of Iran, the closing of the straight of Hormoose, at least to to tankers that do not want to to pay the environmental protection fee, no paying of the environmental protection fee, then no passing the straight of Hermoose. And even if you do pass through the straight of Hormuse and pay that pay that environmental protection fee, your ship might be seized by pirate Trump. So uh this is causing all kinds of problems in uh in the energy uh markets and the fear from the European Union is that there is going to be a shortage in uh in oil and a spike in prices.
And the European Union solution to all of this is to to not lower the price cap that they place on Russian oil. Whenever they meet for uh for the sanctions packages, they always discuss lowering the price cap on Russian oil. I believe at the moment it is at 60 or $60.
And there are some EU member states that would like to to take it to $40 or $40. There are some EU member states like the like the Baltics who would like to place a complete ban on uh on Russian oil, on Russian energy, on Russian maritime services. Just uh ban it all. take it to zero because uh we don't want anyone uh purchasing Russian energy. Well, we uh we have the EU sanctions delusion and now we have reality which is that uh that you are going to need that Russian oil in the markets.
And uh so we're going to have a freeze on the on the price cap on Russian oil as Bloomberg says, a temporary freeze at least until the whole Iran thing is over. Let's place a temporary freeze and then we can uh when the Iran crisis is over, then we can get back to sanctions package number 28 or 29. Whenever the Iran crisis is over, maybe we'll be at sanctions package 29. But uh but then we can get back to uh to discussing the Russian Russian oil price cap if you're Ursula and co. But for now, in order to prevent some sort of an energy shortage meltdown in the European Union, let's place a temporary freeze on our price capp price capping from the EU. They're capping, that's for sure. They really are capping. But uh but what Russia should do is they should find a way to to prevent any country from purchasing Russian oil unless it's at the the market prices $1, $110, $120, $95.
Either you purchase at those prices or you get no Russian oil. That is what Russia should should try to do. I don't know if you can do these things, but uh but that would be interesting. No oil unless you purchase at the current price. No $60 nonsense.
Only $100. That is it. Or $95 or $110. I wonder what the European Union would do if something like that were to be uh orchestrated by Russia. They did they did something similar with Japan actually. Japan called up Russia. they needed Russian oil and and the prime minister called up the Kremlin wanting to speak with uh with Putin and the Kremlin's response to uh to Japan was and she wanted to to speak about uh about the price of Russian oil, purchasing Russian oil and the Kremlin told her, "Are you looking to to purchase at the current uh market prices or or do you want to purchase at the price cap prices?" And uh and she said, "The price cap prices." and the Kremlin said, "Yeah, well, you can't speak to Putin. He'll only speak to you if you're going to purchase at uh at the $100 uh mark." So, uh so they've done something similar. Anyway, that is uh big news coming out of Bloomberg and we're going to stay with the European Union and they want to punish Bulgaria or they're they're going to punish Bulgaria because Bulgaria has has passed the 3% budget deficit threshold. I believe the budget deficit is at 3.5% and this is a big no no if you go by EU rules sometimes they enforce the EU rules in the case of Bulgaria they will enforce the EU budget deficit rules and other times the EU forgets about all its rules for example when they are considering the entry of Ukraine or Muldova or a country that that doesn't meet any of the EU's financial, fiscal, economic, legal, judiciary uh requirements. The EU looks away and they uh and they try to to entice these countries into into entering the European Union even though they fulfill none of the EU requirements. But in the case of Bulgaria, which has now entered the euro, it looks like the EU is going to start tightening the screws on Bulgaria because it has it has done a no no, which is a 3.5% budget deficit and and it and it is expected to to not decrease. The budget deficit in the next year or two is expected to go up to 4 point I want to say 4.3%.
So it's expected to increase.
And the Bulgarian prime minister, the new leader of Bulgaria, recently elected, he is saying that that this revelation of Bulgaria's budget deficit is a result of the previous Bulgarian administration messing around with the with the books in order to to fulfill the requirements so that they can enter the euro. So, so they were they were fudging the numbers.
Then they uh they met the requirements as they were fudging the numbers in order to meet the requirements to adopt the euro currency. And now that the eurourrency has been adopted, we get the revelation that the budget deficit is above 3%.
as if the as if the EU had no idea that Bulgaria was messing around with the with the books, right, in order to enter the Euro because the EU wants Bulgaria to enter the Euro. My guess is that, and I've seen this play out with Greece and and other countries, my guess is that the the Brussels cool kids, they looked the other way.
They uh they wanted the the Bulgarian government to adopt the euro and now that they have adopted the euro, they can put the squeeze on Bulgaria. I I see some austerity coming Bulgaria's way.
Any Anyway, Bulgaria facing EU punishment months after joining the Euro zone. The country is facing sanctions due to a budget deficit with Prime Minister Radv accusing his pro-EU predecessors of massaging economic numbers to secure entry. Under the procedure, Sophia Sophia must bring spending from last year's 3.5% back below the 3% ceiling by putting a binding cap on the budget deficit. If Bulgaria fails, the EU can freeze funding and go as far as to impose fines of up to 0.05% 05% of GDP every 6 months on the Balkan country.
So Radv is predicting that the budget deficit will be even larger than 3.5% and he is he is forecasting or the European Commission is actually forecasting according to Radv 4.1% of GDP this year and 4.3% of GDP in 2027.
They, the previous government, lied to push Bulgaria into the euro. The bubble has burst, he said of the budget deficit. The bubble has burst.
With regards to the budget deficit, I remember Papand Andreo, George Papandreo of Greece telling the Greek people, "There is money. Do not worry."
In 2009 or 2010, there is money. That's what he told the Greek people.
And then the next day, austerity for Greece.
Yeah, I remember. I remember all of that. Now we have Radv saying that the bubble has burst.
Next step, austerity and and not on weapons, not on military spending. There's going to be no austerity on military spending.
There'll be austerity on everything else.
Welcome to the Euro, Bulgaria.
You have handed over your fiscal financial sovereignty to Ursula and Lagard.
Oh my god.
Oh my god. So Navroski, the president of Poland, he is now shocked. He is shocked with Ukraine and with Le Goblin V. He is shocked that Le Goblin ver and that Ukraine would would give a hero's burial, a hero's funeral to a very very nasty historical figure, Mr. uh Melnik.
If you're not sure who Andre Melnik is, then uh then you can look him up.
very very nasty.
Working with uh with the mustache man given a uh a hero's uh burial last week, hero's funeral with Le Goblin there attending and uh and now Navroski is shocked. We also had news from uh from Alinski that he has he has named one of the the military units also after one of these uh these World War II mustache man names. And uh and this has shocked uh Poland. It has shocked Navki.
And he is now saying that there is no place for any of this stuff in the European Union. And Navaskki is right.
He is absolutely right. Uh good good on Poland, good on Navoski, but uh but your your administration or at least the previous administration, they uh they gave Alinski a hero's medal.
That was Duda. I remember Duda gave him a hero's medal. And Navski, he is uh he's very very pro-escalation with uh with the conflict against Russia. You can't have it both ways, my man Lavrovski. You cannot have it both ways. You cannot be pro- escalation and supporting Leoblin ver while at the same time raging and being very angry with Leoblin ver and uh and Ukraine because of of the the uh hero heroization is that a word of uh of these nasty historical figures. very very nasty historical figures.
So uh so that's Navarovski.
Do I have a quote from him?
Unfortunately, Alensky has demonstrated that Ukraine in terms of the mentality of glorifying bandits and murderers from the Ukraine insurgent army is not ready to be part of the European family. There is no place in the European family for bandits and murderers who killed women and children who murdered Poles. Such bandits cannot be glorified and the UPA cannot be glorified. Yeah, he's spot on on that. He is spot on. But as I say, you cannot have it both ways. You're going to have to decide, Navaskki.
Is it these bandits, as you call them, or is it escalating the war?
uh Alinski has no choice to be to be uh honest. Alenski if he doesn't go to these funerals, if he doesn't glorify, as Navoski says, these bandits, if he doesn't glorify them, uh the the bandits, they're going to come after Alinski, and they provide much of uh of Alinski's protection, right? You can't have the the bandits turn on on Le Goblin ver. That would be the end of Leoblin ver. So he has to he has to go to the funeral. He has to do this hero's uh memorial and and the glorification of these of these individuals.
If he doesn't then uh then they're going to turn on him.
So anyway, that is Navroski. Those were his statements.
We uh let's let's go around. Actually, we have an update on uh on some of the drone stuff that is happening in the uh in the conflict.
We had reports that were hitting the the social media, the interwebs a couple of days ago.
Video as well of of drones hitting two Russian uh planes TU 142s in the the area of Tagan Rogue.
And this was published on social media of these uh these TUS getting hit by these drones. We have some more information about about these planes actually according to fighter fighter bomber the fighter bomber accounts. I'm not familiar with this account but AMK mapping I am familiar with and AMK mapping does does a good job. uh pro- Ukrainian but does a very good job in in mapping and getting information out there. Fighter bomber claims that the TU42s targeted were Ukrainian aircraft from Mikolivv sent to Taganorog for repairs in 1998 and 2002. That's an interesting bit of news. Add some more context to these uh 142 the two the TU 142s coming from Nikolai.
And according to Fighter Bomber, they were just kind of kind of sitting there waiting to be repaired.
The fighter bomber account says that the Ukrainians didn't provide money for the repairs, so they just let them deteriorate as there was nothing to salvage from them. I don't know if this is an accurate uh report from this exac account to be quite honest, but anyway, it does provide some more detail about these uh these planes that were hit by these drones.
We also have more reports coming out of the Crema land bridge.
Alexander did a really good breakdown of everything that's happening with the uh the drones and the uh the road in Crimea. I talked about this briefly in my video update yesterday. Okay, we are getting reports that the Ukraine military is now um mining the the roads on the the land bridge or at least one uh one or two of the of the main highways in the Crema uh land bridge and and Alexander has this one right. the the reason that they're actually uh sending the drones to to attack vehicles and that they're now placing mines is is not so much for for military supply lines. It's for uh fuel for civilian fuel. And it looks like the goal of the Ukraine military is to disrupt civilian fuel uh supplies and to create shortages in Crimea. And it is working to a certain extent. We do have uh rationing and shortages of fuel in Crimea. But uh but Russia will get on top of it. Uh there's no doubt about that. But uh the the objective of the the drones and the mining is not so much about uh hitting the Russian military, disrupting the Russian military supply lines. It's it's more about causing causing problems and disruption for the people of Crimea. So, uh, that's that's some more context on that, uh, on that story. And now we can turn to everyone's favorite topic, the the negotiations between Trump and Iran, the negotiations, if you want to call them, negotiations.
So, uh, so Trump, he Where should we start? Where should we start?
Let's see. Okay, let's let's start with Axios, which is a very reliable news source when it comes to to Iran. Always believe everything that Axios is reporting when it comes to Iran.
And uh they are now reporting that the Trump administration they uh they want to edit the deal that they were discussing yes Friday. Not yesterday, Friday. the deal that uh that Trump that the US received from Pakistan, from Iran to Pakistan to the Trump administration and then Trump called a a uh a meeting in the situation room with his national security team and uh and they wanted to to look over the deal. The rumors were that Trump might actually sign off on the deal and we would get an opening of Cormoose and and a 60-day negotiation uh period.
But uh Trump said, "Nah, I want to think it over." And now Axios is following up on on those reports saying that Trump requests edits to Iran deal his envoys negotiated. Basically, the edits are are in order to according to Axios to toughen up the the uranium enrichment uh requirements that are that are in in this deal to make things tough around Iran when it comes to the frozen assets, the return of the frozen assets and just just to just to toughen everything up on on Iran to squeeze Iran because according to Axios, Trump feels like the US has has leverage. They hold the cards and they have time on their side. So, so Trump is trying to squeeze Iran and that's why he is requesting edits to whatever deal is is on the table. That is Axios's reporting. And then Trump goes on to Fox News to be interviewed by his daughter-in-law, right? Larara Trump, his his family is interviewing him. That must be a tough interview. I like it. I like it when uh when Lara Trump interviews me. I like it a lot. And uh the interview from Fox News, Trump to Trump is uh is is is Trump Trump says that in the interview I lost my train of thought.
Trump says in the interview that uh we are close to a very good deal. Oh my god, we're close to a very good deal.
But then Trump says that he's in no hurry to make a deal. If you're going to be in a hurry, you're not going to make a good deal. And slowly but surely, we're getting, I think, what we want.
And if we don't get what we want, we're going to end it a different way. So, we're very close to a deal. But, uh, he's in no hurry.
Okay. What's new? Why am Why am I reporting on this?
Trump did go on to tell uh Trump. Trump told Trump that that the US I think he said the US should not have been in Iran, but now they are in Iran. And then he went on to claim that if the US did not obliterate the uranium in when was it in February with Operation Midnight Hammer or whatever it was called, then Iran would have had a nuclear weapon and or they would have had a nuclear weapon in 9 months and then they would have used that nuclear weapon and there would be no Israel, there would be no Middle East, there would be no nothing because Iran would have used that nuclear weapon and and he was he was saying stuff like that >> shouldn't have been there in the first place, by the way. Uh, and shouldn't have been in Iran, but Iran has uh the capability. If we didn't hit them with the B2 bombers 9 months ago, they would have a nuclear weapon right now and it would be a whole different story.
Probably would have used it. You would you probably wouldn't have had a you wouldn't have had Israel, but you probably wouldn't have had a Middle East. And then where do they go from there?
>> But, uh, we have a report from the Wall Street Journal. This is now this is interesting news. This is some interesting news. The Wall Street Journal is saying that uh that the UAE played a secret role in the war against Iran. The UAE secret role in the war involved dozens of strikes on Iran. The attacks were conducted in coordination with the US and Israel and went on for weeks. So there you go. The EUA saying that they're not a party to this conflict. Why is Iran attacking attacking us with drones? Why are they hitting Dubai? Why are they why are they sending uh Did they send missiles into air bases in the Emirates? I believe they did.
But anyway, the UAE was was going on and on about about Iran attacking them.
Unjustified attack. This should not be happening. Why are they doing this? We have nothing to do with this with this war. And now we get the Wall Street Journal. If you want to believe the Wall Street Journal, I'm waiting for a statement from the Emirates to this report, but uh they are claiming that the UAE was indeed a part of the conflict. A secret a secret role is what they played.
We have uh we have reports from Iranian media where they are saying that Iran earned half a billion dollars from the straight of Hormus toll payments in the past week.
Don't call it a toll. An environmental protection fee.
That's what it is. Okay. We have uh we have a whole bunch of rumors over the past 24 hours on uh on Trump and his stock trades.
I mean, a whole bunch of posts on X talking about Trump and and his family making money off of uh picking the correct stocks and making the right investments at the exact right time.
No coincidence, but uh with anything that's going on geopolitically, it's just good good predictions and good stock trading. Allah Nancy Pelosi, not Nancy Pelosi, the Pelosi her her husband. Her husband is the is the brilliant trader actually. My bad. But um a lot of posts talking about about Trump trades or Trump family trades. One of them highlighted by CNN if you want to believe CNN, but it looks like they brought their receipts. At least that's what they're showing. And CNN was talking about how according to a financial disclosure from Trump, he bought $1 million and5 million dollar in Dell stock earlier this year.
$1 million and $5 million in Dell stock.
Okay. And then this week, the Pentagon awarded Dell a contract worth more than $9 billion.
All right, good trade. Good trade from uh from the Trump organization or the Trump family. According to these disclosures, uh Dell stock went up by $142 this week.
Very good trade.
>> I wish I could trade like that. Just not good at trading or at least not at the level of all of these guys. So anyway, that's CNN. That's their reporting. if you want to believe it, they're showing the disclosures and well the price of stock of Dell stock. It is what it is.
So, uh so anyway, interesting reports there. And uh and then as everyone is talking about uh Trump's Trump's trades and the money being made from these brilliant trades, we got this post from Unusual Wales saying that American savings rates fall to lowest level since 2022 per CNBC. And then we got a post on X which pointed to in reply to to this news from CNBC which pointed to the increase in the wealth of the oligarch class in the United States.
And wow the numbers are pretty incredible.
Let's go through it. Elon Musk 2012 2 billion 2026 $834.7 billion Larry Page 18 billion in 2012 2026 322 billion Sergey Brin 18.7 to 299 Bezos 18.4 4 billion to 289 billion.
Minimum wage 2009 725 2026 725.
Wow, that is some increase in uh in net worth.
We have uh we have Germany. There must have been a lot of people coming out of Broy. There must have been some sort of well definitely was was something going on at the Bolshoy. It's a theater. It's a theater. It's a ballet opera.
Something good was taking taking place the Bullshoy.
Sunday afternoon show. Not bad.
So, we have news coming out of Germany that that a CDU, German official, a lawmaker for the CDU wants citizens to give up their their home, their assets to pay for for health care, for nursing home support, actually to be more precise. Merch's party wants elderly Germans to sell homes to pay for care.
The proposal by Albert Stegman, deputy chairman of the CDUCSU Parliamentary Group in the Bundes Tag, would tighten eligibility rules for public assistance with nursing home costs, potentially requiring homeowners to draw on property wealth before receiving state support.
Those who own assets must first use their own assets, including their home, before the community pays, Stegman told Build on Thursday.
use your your own assets first and then and then we'll help you with with care.
First sell your home, then we'll then we'll provide you with with elderly support or health care or whatever.
Black Rockck Mertz.
This is not Black Rockck Mertz. is this is the deputy chairman of the CDUS parliamentary group in the Bundes tag but still very nasty stuff very nasty proposal >> but uh but I think we understand everyone understands what's going on here I don't have a clown world but uh but I do have an update on on the EU the EU initiative that will be discussed in June where the European Union wants wants EU member states to to stop trading with Russia to stop uh subsidizing not Russia, China. What am I saying? I'm not good today. I'm messing up a lot on this Sunday.
The European Union wants member states to stop to stop subsidizing various trade with uh with China and uh and this is an initiative that Ursula is trying to put together. France is very much on board with this initiative. They're blaming China for their economic wars instead of blame economic woes instead of blaming uh sanctions and the the conflict in Ukraine and all of these things. Uh France is blaming China. Uh Germany is saying we cannot uh we cannot start imposing restrictions on Chinese goods and Chinese supplies because that would wreak havoc on our supply chains and Germany needs uh China for their own industry supply chains.
But Germany also needs the Chinese market as well for their industry.
Anyway, this is something that's going to be discussed between the EU and uh and the reaction from China upon hearing the news that the EU is looking to curb Chinese imports is that China is threatening retaliation. Of course, they are. China on Saturday warned the EU against imposing new trade restrictions as Brussels prepares a broad crackdown on Beijing's industrial overcapacity amid mounting fears for the future of European manufacturing.
Don't mess with China, European Union.
They're not playing around. Anyway, that's the video everybody. The duran.locals.com.
We're on X. We're on Rumble. We are on Telegram. Go to the Durant shop. Pick up some merch. The link is in the description box down below. I will see everybody tomorrow.
Take care. I'll leave you with some flowers.
