RodrĂguez elevates the discourse by shifting from personal grievances to a systemic analysis of how religious fundamentalism trades critical thinking for absolute certainty. This intellectual maturation provides a necessary framework for understanding the structural mechanics of belief beyond individual organizations.

đŁThe End of Anonymity: Who I Am and What Comes NextđŁAjoutĂ© :
Hello everyone. Iâm truly glad to be here with you today. I have something very special I want to share; itâs something Iâve been working on intensively, and I believe youâre going to find it very interesting.
However, before diving into the topic and telling you what itâs all about, Iâd like to take a brief pause to talk about what youâre seeing and hearing right now.
As many of you know, my native language is not English. Although this is my real face and my real voice, what youâre seeing right now is a next-generation digital clone. I chose to use this artificial intelligence technology to ensure the message reaches you with the greatest possible clarity and fluency. It allows me to express myself in English with a naturalness that, for now, goes beyond my ability to speak it directlyâmaking sure that none of the important information gets lost due to language barriers.
With that said, letâs get to what really matters. Hello. For a long time, you knew me as Nowachiâa voice, an avatar, and a body of research that many of you followed with a loyalty I deeply value.
But today, the anonymity ends. The project has grown, and for what comes next, I need you to look me in the eyes. My name is Juan Carlos⊠and this is my face.
Many of you may be wondering: why hide my face for so long? The answer is simple: professional strategy. When I launched the channel âNowachi with Common Sense,â I had already been out of Jehovahâs Witnesses for nearly twenty years. My life was differentâI was working in a high-responsibility position in the pharmaceutical industry, and honestly, I didnât want to mix those two very different public identities.
Nowachi was the tool I found to channel my experience as a former elder and my research without my professional environment interfering with the message. It allowed me to speak about the organizationâs internal structures without distractions. But that cycle has now come to an end. Iâve decided that to take this project to the next level, I need to do it face to face.
During all this time researching for the channel, I realized something fundamental: Jehovahâs Witnesses are not an isolated anomaly. They are just one of many rooms inside the massive building of religious fundamentalism.
I spent a long time pointing out the cracks in the walls of that specific room, but I neglected the foundation of the entire building. I came to understand that if I truly wanted to help othersâand myselfâbe free, it wasnât enough to criticize the Governing Body. I had to go further back. I had to go to the origin of the texts that all these structures use as weapons.
Fundamentalism works the same everywhere: it offers you absolute certainty in exchange for your critical thinking. It tells you there is a group that will be saved while everyone else will be condemned. And that mindset doesnât disappear just by stopping your attendance at the Kingdom Hall; it is healed through knowledge, through history, and by understanding how those dogmas were constructed. Thatâs why this channel has to grow. I cannot stay on the surface when beneath it lies an ocean of history explaining why the world is the way it is today.
Thatâs why the change Iâm making is not just aestheticâitâs foundational. From now on, the theme of the channel evolves into something much broader. And make no mistakeâIâm not forgetting where I come from. Iâve simply realized I donât want to remain tied to something I left behind almost two decades ago.
I believe Iâll be more myself if I share what Iâm truly passionate about. I want to talk on this channel about the anthropology of religion, and above all, biblical textual criticism.
I want us to analyze together why we believe what we believe, and how the dogmas that govern millions today were constructed. And yes⊠I also want to be more myself by turning up the volume on irony and sarcasm.
Thatâs why, starting today, Nowachi with Common Sense officially becomes Heretic and Sinner.
Here, weâre going to talk about the Bible and religion with academic rigorâbut without being boring. In Heretic and Sinner, we donât like charlatans who get their information from a chat with a buddy, a pastorâs sermon, or the local parish priest. But we dislike just as much those scholars who put you to sleep within the first minute.
Weâre going to ask the questions others avoid: Who really wrote the biblical texts, and when? What do the original manuscripts say? What happens if we compare the Gospels with each other?
Does our perspective change if we compare the Old Testament with ancient Mesopotamian texts?
Weâll talk about the historical Jesusâthe one I really like because he challenged the Jewish elites and called them a brood of vipers, but who at the same time provoked the Roman Empire by entering Jerusalem as king of the Jews. But weâll also talk about that Yahweh of armies who ordered the extermination of entire peoples, including women and children. Weâll reflect on the current value of the Scriptures in this highly polarized modern world.
And I want to make something very clear: Heretic and Sinner does not aim to destroy anyoneâs faith, but rather to seek knowledge together. Everyone is welcome hereâatheists and agnostics, but also Catholics, Protestants, Mormons, Adventists, and of course, my friends who are Jehovahâs Witnesses and former Jehovahâs Witnesses.
By the way, there are religious groupsâsuch as liberal Catholics and Protestantsâwho accept the kind of biblical textual criticism we will be using on this channel. They take those contributions and reinterpret them through their faith.
Iâm sure many believing friends who watch this channel will do the same.
Anyone who understands they do not possess absolute truth is welcome. Because if your faith does not allow questioning, itâs not faith⊠itâs called ego. Our attitude will be the one my dear friend Nowachi once mentioned in one of his episodes: Seek the truth, damn it!
The new name of the channelââHeretic and Sinnerââis a manifesto. I declare myself a âHereticâ because I choose independence from any system that claims to possess absolute truth. And I declare myself a âSinnerâ to distance myself from the moral superiority of those who hide behind a halo of holiness. As the Spanish singer-songwriter Joan Manuel Serrat once said: âbetween those types and me⊠thereâs something personal.â
Before closing, I want to make a pact with you about the methodology of this channel.
I donât want you to believe meâand certainly not to create my own cult. Thatâs why, in every video description, you will find references to respected academics: archaeologists, historians, and experts in ancient languages.
My job is not to reinvent the wheel, but to share the knowledge that scholars make available to usâin a language you and I can enjoy over a casual conversation. If one day I make a mistakeâand I certainly willâI will be the first to admit it and correct it. Because a true heretic is not the one who believes theyâve found the truth, but the one who never stops searching for it.
To those who have been with me from the beginning: thank you for your trust. I am still the same thinkerâonly now you can look me in the eyes. To those arriving for the first time: welcome to this space of critical thinking and demystification.
Subscribe, stay close⊠and get readyâbecause now, weâre going to read the Bible like you were never allowed to before.
I am Juan Carlos RodrĂguezâHeretic and Sinnerâand this is just the beginning. And remember: Seek the truth⊠damn it!
