The massive facility is designed to produce about 1.5 million tons of cement annually along with hundreds of thousands of tons of calcium clay used for blending making it one of the largest plants of its kind in the world.
Beyond its scale, the project is a gamecher for the economy and the environment, cutting dependency on imported clean car, supporting local raw materials, creating jobs, and boosting Ghana's construction and infrastructure sector with more affordable and sustainable cement. 32. Daboas Water Treatment Plant. The Daboas Water Treatment Plant in Ghana's western region is undergoing a major transformation as part of the secondary Takarade water supply rehabilitation and expansion project. Designed to solve long-standing water shortages in one of the country's fastest growing urban and industrial area located along the Pra River in the Wasa East district. The facility originally built in the 1960s has been upgraded into a modern system with a new capacity of about 22 million gallons per day enough to serve over 1 million people across secondary itakra day. The expansion includes new intake systems, advanced sediment control, pumping stations, pipelines, and dedicated power supply to ensure reliable operation. Currently about 98% complete as at the time of this recording and expected to be fully operational by May 2026. The project is set to end chronic water rationing, support industrial and port activities, and improve public health. 33. Atoku Franka road project. The Atimpoku Franka road project is a key but often overlooked lifeline in Ghana's eastern region. Designed to improve connectivity between rural farming communities around Franka and major transport orbs of Atimpoku near the Adobe bridge which links southern Ghana to the VA region as part of the broader eastern corridor and the big bush infrastructure upgrade. The road is expected to ease the movement of agricultural produce like casaba maze and plantain, reduce travel time and strengthen trade links between inland towns and major markets in Acra and beyond. For years, residents have battled poor road conditions, flooding and long travel delays. But this upgrade promises smoother transport, safer journeys, and stronger economic opportunities by connecting farmers, traders, and commuters more efficiently into Ghana's growing road network. 34.
Establishment of farmer service centers under President John Mahama's le administration. Ghana's farmer service center is being rolled out as a game-changing agricultural transformation program designed to make modern farming more affordable and accessible. This initiative will establish about 50 centers nationwide starting with 11 in the first phase funded in the 2026 budget each equipped with tractors, avesters, planting and spraying machines and other modern tools to serve farmers on a share use basis.
Instead of struggling to buy expensive equipment, farmers will simply access mechanized services at these orbs, helping to reduce cost, boost productivity, and cut post office losses with over 4,000 pieces of machineries expected to be deployed. The project is aimed at turning agriculture into a more commercial yearround industry, strengthening food security, increasing rural incomes, and pushing Ghana towards a more modern and self-sufficient agricultural economy. 35. Apermanium Western Regional Hospital. The Apermanium Western Regional Hospital in Ghana's Aanta Western Municipality is a major 250 bed modern healthcare project initiated to ease pressure on the overboarding EIA in Quanta Regional Hospital and expand access to quality medical care in the western region.
Designed as a state-of-the-art facility with ICUs, surgical theaters, maternal and children's ward, laboratories, diialysis and emergency units, the project is part of efforts to modernize Ghana's healthcare system. President John Mahama has since ordered the resumption of work, resolving financial bottlenecks and directing contractors back to site with a bold promise to complete the hospital within 18 months.
Once complete, the facility is expected to transform healthcare delivery in the region, reduce congestion, improve emergency response, and strengthen medical services for thousands of residents across the western corridor.

Connection of Tema and Katagena ports.
Ghana and Colombia have signed a landmark agreement to directly connect the port of Tema in Ghana with the port of Katagena in Colombia, creating a new maritime trade corridor between West Africa and Latin America. The deal is designed to boost trade, cut shipping costs and delays and strengthen economic ties between the two regions by allowing goods to move directly across the Atlantic without relying on traditional transit route through Europe and Northern America. Terma, Ghana's busiest and most strategic deep sea port, will now be linked with Katagena, one of Latin America's key logistics hub, opening up new opportunities for exports like cocoa, gold, and oil from Ghana and manufactured and agricultural goods from Colombia. 37 Bleusu Sea Defense Project Phase 2. The Bleus Sea Defense Project Phase 2 is a major coastal protection and community development initiative in Ghana's VA region launched in 2025 to permanently tackle the devastating effect of sea erosion and tide waves that have destroyed homes, displaced families and threatened livelihoods in communities like Bleusu, Gavendi and Adina covering about 8 kilometers of coastal line. The project involved the construction of rock armored garins, revisement and shoreline stabilization systems designed to break wave energy and rebuild the coastline over time.
Beyond protection, it includes vital social infrastructure such as modern fish market, cold storage, processing facilities, sanitation systems, and transport orbs to boost local economic activities. 38. Ghana's $ 1.5 billion oil and gas investment. Ghana is set for a major boost in its energy sector as President Johnhammer's administration secures a landmark $ 1.5 billion oil and gas investment partnership with global energy players NE vital and GNPC aimed at expanding offshore production improving gas supply and strengthening the country's energy infrastructure. The D focuses on reviving key oil fields like Sofa G in OCTP, increasing natural gas output for power generation, upgrading pipelines and offshore facility, and creating thousands of jobs across the value chain. Beyond boosting productivity, the investment is expected to stabilize electricity supply, reduce energy cost, attract more foreign investors, and reinforce Ghana's position as one of West Africa's emerging energy orbs, marking a significant step towards long-term energy security and economic growth. 39 34 km Sununani Outer Ring Road. The 34 kilometers Sununyani outer ring road project in Ghana is a major big push infrastructure development designed to transform movement and economic activities in the Bono region by creating a modern bypass around Sununyani city. Once completed, it will connect key corridors like Kumasi Sunani, Sununyani Tima and Suni Berum, helping to divert heavy traffic away from the city center, ease congestion and improve road safety. The project is already progressing steadily with works, draining systems and several sections reaching formation level as contractors prepare for asphalt lane beyond easing traffic. The ring road is expected to boost trade, agriculture, logistics and urban development, turning soni into a stronger regional orb. Arakumasi Expressway. Ghana's planned Acra Kumasi Expressway estimated at about $1.7 billion under President John Mahama's big push agenda is set to become a true gamechanger for the nation's economy by linking its two biggest OBS Acra and Kumasi through a modern high-speed access controlled corridor of about 198.7 km designed as a six-lane expressway. It will cut travel time from nearly 5 hours to about 2 and 1/2. ease congestion and open up new development zones across the eastern and Ashanti region. Beyond just moving vehicles faster, the project is expected to transform Ghana's economy by boosting trade, strengthening agriculture, improving logistics, attracting industries, and connecting key regional markets into one seamless economic network, making it more than a road.
