WTF (cloudy film)Added:
Hi, good morning everyone. This is Deborah. Welcome to my channel. Uh today we're going to talk about why I haven't done a video in a whole month. Um there's a lot of issues going on and I think some of you all can relate to some of these issues.
As you all know last fall I was diagnosed with gallstones and and uh a fatty liver.
And I'm still doing research on the fatty liver.
And it's causing me some pain.
Uh definitely and I have to watch it. My doctor wouldn't even give me anything for pain for uh another issue that I have because she says you need to know when it's time to go to the hospital. Oh my gosh.
But the fatty liver is painful.
So, update on my skin cancer. As you know last month I was on antibiotics because of a tooth up here.
Uh this is the sad thing.
I wish in my divorce decree that I had added that any automobile or any uh eye or dental that my ex-spouse would be responsible for because I gave him 40 years.
I gave him the house, the company, uh everything.
I should have done that. I was just so glad to get away from that that and I had a real crappy lawyer, okay.
So, back to the antibiotics.
It >> [clears throat] >> being on antibiotics and I did find this for sure, two little spots right here was was uh very pronounced and shiny like a pearl and that could be uh a form of skin cancer. And I have had uh a spot here removed twice with stitches.
So, uh my my friend, who I always go out of the country with, she said, "You mean to tell me you haven't been to a dermatologist?" And I said, "No.
Where am I going to find find that? Medicare does not cover that far as I know.
Um maybe they do. I don't know, but I just haven't gone to a dermatologist. I only go as as needed, I guess.
But, uh so, when I got off the antibiotics, these little two places re- receded. So, but I still think I should have it checked out.
So, back to my teeth.
My dentist told me that I might have to have a root canal. Now, listen very carefully. This is something I just learned.
He said, "If we have to extract it or do a root canal." He said something about the shot that goes in the upper palate, and he says, "It's very painful." And he says, "I may have to be put under." I don't have that kind of money. I don't have dental insurance. As I said, I should have put this in my divorce decree.
Uh but, as you all know, hindsight is 20/20.
So, yeah, that those receded. I still think I should get it checked out. Now, my doctor said, "I'm going to put a temporary filling in there, and you're going to wait 2 weeks. Call me back and let me know if you're in horrible pain."
>> [laughter] >> That's what That's what he said.
I I called him back after 3 weeks, and I said, "I don't have that kind of pain."
So, I'm very lucky that I don't need a root canal. I don't think so, because he said that would be the defining factor. I did not know that some nerves can regrow.
Uh who knew that?
Uh so, I think he's just going to do a filling for me, a permanent filling.
And, uh, he said I had the old fillings.
Uh, you know, that's a But, I do have 50 grand in this mouth because I did get a lot of work done when, of course, when I was married cuz I had the money, okay.
So, uh, I've been in a lot of pain for my heel.
I don't like to whine, but I think today with me whining may help somebody out there.
Now, I tried to go and get a job last year, and, uh, uh, I lasted 3 days at Sam's Club. I had no training. I Finally, I begged for someone to help me, and and nobody would, you know?
Uh, when I called to quit, nobody would even answer the phone. Okay. Then, I went to work for Belk.
>> [snorts] >> Same thing at Belk.
Actually, got locked into the facility overnight because I didn't know what exit to take, uh, which door, and everybody just up and left. It was in the, of course, the alarms are going off. This is my life, okay.
So, I was wearing size nine shoes, and then I found out the hard way it it damaged my big toe. I lost that toe now.
It was very bad. And, because the shoes were too tight, I had to stand 8 hours. What I should have done is just work part-time, you know?
But, that was my mistake cuz I can work part-time with no problems. But, the the, uh, pressure on the back of my heel called Haglund's deformity. Uh, and the back of my heel is the bone is sticking out that much.
And, that is painful. So, I do have an appointment this week to go to the podiatrist.
And, thank God um there's a lot of them here around here.
They're all sort board certified. So, I need to get that taken care of. Of course, you'll have to be in the boot, but how how sexy is that? That's not sexy, but um but I found out that if you still have pain for at least 6 months, it might be time to do something about it. And I've had this pain since uh late January. So, here it is almost Memorial Day. So, I've waited it out. I have had a heel spur before, and that kind of um corrected itself, thank God.
Okay. Now, here's another issue I have.
I was supposed to get a cervical fusion here 20 years ago, and I chickened out because I had to address other issues, which was a spinal fusion and um both hips replaced.
So, uh I got to take things one at a time.
But, I'm working on it. So, um I've got a call in to my neurosurgeon.
Uh need to call him back as I didn't get a call. That's the thing about your health now. You have to be on top of everything. You have to do their job, believe me. It is so bad. Same thing with pharmacists or pharmacies.
So, in the meantime, my freaking left knee is so bad I can't go upstairs anymore. I mean, all this is hitting me all at once. And I think depression >> [gasps] >> makes the pain more compounded.
So, my left knee needs to be worked on, but I do know for a fact that the knee and the cervical fusion is harder to recover.
So, I think on those things, I'd just wait until the pain is constant, you know, not just intermittent. So, now here's one that you all really need to listen to.
Uh I grew up riding a bus with a uh a young man down the street where I used to live in Oakton, Virginia. We had we shared He was always sitting next to me in elementary and we went to junior high and high school together.
And [sighs and gasps] God bless his soul, he called me and it was very bad. You want to guess what it is?
He has colon cancer.
And he never got his colonoscopy.
They recommend that you get it in your 50s. Well, I had mine when I was 54.
And my everything in my colon was pristine.
Clear as a bell.
My ex-husband's was not.
He had a lot of polyps. They had to um What do they call them when they um burn them off? I don't know. But he was rude to me one day.
Very rude in our office. I had an office of five I think it was four secretaries, 25 employees, and he made me so mad one day that I took his results cuz cuz his picture of his colon was full up.
I posted it on the office door. You don't want to screw with me, people.
>> [groaning] >> Cuz he didn't follow the directions, okay? What can I say? Okay.
Back to the colon cancer. As you all know, if you're in your 60s or 70s, you should know who Farrah Fawcett is. That is how uh what took her down.
God bless her soul.
Uh so, if you're in your 50s or if you've never had a colonoscopy, go do it.
Um also, I haven't heard anything from one of my sisters.
None of us have for almost a year.
Uh we've reached out to her to no avail.
Uh hopefully, she's okay. We don't know.
Another thing is, of course, my daughter my daughter um when she was in the big house, she called me very often and I put money in her canteen, money which I did not have, like $25 every other week.
Now, I told her last year, I said, "I can't help you anymore."
Uh and I haven't heard from her since.
I know a lot of you all are dealing with this.
Your adult children are not texting, not calling, and um that's a shame. Now, I can't be too hard on her, because I did the same thing to my poor mother, and boy, do I have those regrets.
Uh when we would butt heads, uh I would just kind of go no contact or block her. But, once I became emotionally mature, I realized that that was wrong, and I went and visited her a lot at Fort Belvoir's uh nursing home, and we got along great once I hit 50.
Um so, yeah. Now, let's see, what else?
Uh let's see. I think I think that's enough, people. So, that is why all this is weighing on me, And uh yeah, and when you're depressed, you don't feel like doing anything.
But a lot of it's got to do with my age and um for those of you all who think that I'm a a complainer or a weakling, let me tell you what.
I had a spinal fusion and went to work for 5 years at Walgreens.
Then I had both hips replaced at different times. Went back to work in 12 days. I am a fighter.
And I just very glad that I am still alive cuz I have a sister who's not.
Uh she was a diabetic and she just got tired of going to dialysis.
Uh I miss her very, very much.
>> [clears throat] >> So yeah, I'm a fighter. I'm not a weakling. I've had to deal with things that most women would consider a nightmare. Uh yeah, and and I even contemplating uh selling my home and moving to another place that that I don't have to worry about real estate taxes uh or things of that sort.
Um I've been contemplating that, too.
Uh I'm still thinking about that, but I'm taking one day at a time.
And uh but my son does check on me. He checked on me yesterday.
Uh that was nice. And so it is Getting old is not for the meek.
It is not. And sleep sleep is hard to come by. Now, I don't think I slept more than 4 hours the last month.
So, I actually went to bed at 9:00 last night. Then, I got a hankering for something sweet. So, I ate a fourth of a watermelon, and then I was able to go to sleep. For some reason, I need to have sweets before I go to sleep.
So, yeah, and then I actually was in bed and asleep at midnight. Usually, I stay up all night and go to sleep at 6:00 a.m. That is killing me. I So, now I'm going to bed before midnight, and hopefully I'll get back on track. Now, this happened to my daddy. He had his days and night nights mixed up. I personally think it's because he didn't like anybody in the house, and he just slept all day, so he wouldn't have to deal with them.
Yeah, back to my friend. Uh he was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer, and uh it just broke my heart. Yeah, he was such a good friend. We've been to all of the high school reunions together, and he's always been a gentleman.
So, thanks for watching, everyone. Bye.
