White fragility, as defined by Robin DiAngelo, describes the defensive reactions that occur when white people are confronted with accusations of racism, where the person pointing out racism becomes the accused. This pattern manifests across different scales—from individual social interactions to institutional policies—such as when laws originally designed to protect Black people are repurposed to block their benefits, or when Supreme Court decisions eliminate race-conscious admissions under the guise of color blindness.

The ArchitectureAdded:
2 weeks ago, [music] I posted an essay about color blindness.
Someone left a comment.
Instagram [music] hid it, but I'm showing it to you anyway.
That comment didn't refute my essay. It proved it.
Author Robin DiAngelo has a name for this, white fragility.
When pointing out racism becomes the racist act, when the person naming the harm gets accused of causing it, that's not a rebuttal.
That's the architecture.
And it's not just in the comment sections. Less than a month ago, a group called the American Alliance for Equal Rights filed a federal lawsuit against a black student scholarship fund, using a law written after the Civil War to protect black people.
And that And the lawsuit seeks to block black students from receiving the scholarships.
In 2023, the Supreme Court eliminated race-conscious college admissions. Color blind, they called it. Look at the comment.
The lawsuit.
The court decisions. Same move, different scale.
