Vision Pro Spatial Panoramas & Gaussian Splats in Apple Maps Flyover |

[00:00:00]Apple just announced at the WWDC news about the home of the Apple Vision Pro and the fly over experience. Let's take a look. So, here they announced that they are going to change the background of the home. You can see this on the Apple Vision Pro and is of course far much better than the meta one, especially if you have the last update.

[00:00:23]And they also mention an upgrade on the maps. And again here it looks a little bit like Gastian splatting but they don't say any turn so we don't yet know but anyway it's good news and I'm looking forward to see exactly how this is going to develop. Historically flyover was using photoggramometry but this came with several challenges and they're now looking forward resolving this probably with gas and splatting. I dig deeper into it. It seems there is a page on Apple developer. In this page they specifically mention Gaussian splatting. You will see it here. There is reality kit and you can use 3D gaussian splats. Here it provide you some theoretical foundations. It will also explain you how to render them. And here there are some code examples in which you can use for example gasplat resource to render your gas splats.
