Scientists found a species of tiny humans on an island

[00:00:00]On the island of Flores in Indonesia, scientists dug up a human that should not exist.

[00:00:06]3 ft tall, brain the size of a grapefruit, but it made tools.

[00:00:15]It used fire. [music] They called it Homo floresiensis, a completely separate species of human that evolved in total isolation on that island.

[00:00:26]It lived alongside our ancestors until just 50,000 years ago. Recent enough that local legends still describe tiny people living in caves.
