Jet fuel prices drive up costs of flights ahead of Memorial Day travel

[00:00:00]If you're traveling by air, this holiday weekend, you may have noticed higher prices for your flight and at the airport. Jet fuel prices are driving up the cost of flights. AAA telling us that airlines, unfortunately, are passing those costs on to us, the passengers.

[00:00:13]That means higher ticket prices and extra baggage fees.

[00:00:16]But many families are running the numbers and they're choosing to drive instead.

[00:00:21]As the airlines have had to react to much higher jet fuel prices, they're seeing kind of the same jumps with jet fuel that we've seen as drivers at the pump. They're trying to make up for that, so they've had to increase ticket fares.

[00:00:33]And if you're flying today, expect big crowds. Today, of course, one of the busiest days at the airport. You may need extra time to find parking in or get through security, so keep that in mind.
