The Most Depressed People Don’t Look Depressed

[00:00:00]Yo, there's something going on in 2026, right? And it's becoming very big in my generation, too. But there's something going on where people can be going through depression and on the outside, you can't even tell anymore. You can't tell that this person is literally battling something internally. You can't tell what they're going through. You have no gut feeling when you get around these people. As crazy as that is, right? And it's like you kind of get shocked when you find out that this person is breaking down on the inside or their home life is just crazy because these people are typically the happiest people in the room. They are always make other people laugh, always trying to make sure they're there for other people. And one thing I want you guys to notice is the people that usually are depressed but don't really show it on the outside, they always have to stay busy. That's one thing that I've noticed with these people. They always got to keep themselves doing something or staying busy because they're trying to run or not deal with the thoughts. And this isn't something that I judge them for because some people go through some crazy stuff, y'all. Like, it's really crazy. And this generation, it's becoming more of a skill because y'all know we got the internet, we got social media. So, a lot of people when you go through something, you kind of don't really deal with it. You kind of just go on your phone and start scrolling. And y'all know how fast time can fly by when you scrolling. you don't really realize, oh [ __ ] I'm not even living in real life. Like I like 3 hours that went by and I ain't even do nothing, right? This is how people are escaping now. So that's why it's becoming more of a skill developed in this generation that people are just escaping from their issues. But I'm making this video because y'all really got to check on y'all friends. Like I said, this generation either is either small talk or no talk. Sometimes when y'all be talking to your friends, you'll be asking like, "Yo, you straight?" Like sometimes you can look at your friend and tell like it's a slight glimpse that you're going to catch with these people.

[00:01:50]It's a slight like it's going to be very quick, but sometimes with these people that are actually depressed, you can literally look at them for a split second in a social setting that y'all are in. You can look at them and you can look at their face and tell they're not happy. Like I have the ability to do this. Everybody got the ability to do this, but most people don't really care enough to pay attention. I pay attention to my friends personally. Like if you somebody I'm cool with, I'm going to be paying attention to you. Like I'm making sure you straight. But like once the mask has to drop, the mask drops every once in a while. And sometimes you can just catch them there kind of looking empty. Like you can look in their eyes and the glimmer fades. Like that fake glimmer, it fades. And you ask them like, "Yo, you good, bro?" They be like, "Yeah, I'm straight. I'm straight." And then most people kind of move on. Like they kind of just move on with their day. They be like, "All right, well, he told me he's straight. She told me she good. So I ain't even going to go ahead and press on it." Guys, if this is somebody you call your friend, you need to ask them one more time like, "Yo, you sure you good?" Because sometimes it's a 50-50 chance they're going to tell you what's going on. Most times they probably won't tell you what's going on.

[00:02:52]And I'm going to tell you why. In this generation, yo, I swear it's like I understand why these people don't be telling their friends [ __ ] I understand why people don't speak up. And it's because, yo, when people speak up, [ __ ] don't listen. Like you could tell somebody what's going on with you and why you've been feeling this way and why you put on this mask outside and it's like people don't listen. Either they don't give good advice and they're kind of just listening and then they move on to another subject or when you're talking they cut you off and start talking to somebody else or they're trying to talk about something completely unrelated to what you're talking about or just people just don't listen whatsoever. Like they just don't understand what you're saying. Like they can't comprehend what's coming out of your mouth. So, it kind of feels like a waste of time to even talk to people and tell them what's going on with you nowadays. So, I don't under I don't really blame the people that say they're fine all the time and keep it pushing because at some point you got to ask yourself, what the [ __ ] is the point of telling you what's going on with me?

[00:03:48]What does that do for me? Right? And it's sad that it's got to this point, but I've only met a couple people in real life that actually listen. Like, a lot of people don't listen. Even no matter how serious the subject is, some people cannot take serious subjects like seriously. Like, some people just don't listen. And that's what I've learned a lot. But you have to really check on your friends if you call them a friend. Like if you're not checking on people you call your friends that I don't think y'all are really friends. Y'all are kind of associates. Like people that are my friends, bro, I'm going to check on you, bro. If like something and I'm going to tell y'all this, right? You're going to really see what somebody's going through when you catch them in an area that you're not usually with them. I don't know if that just made sense. If you're not usually with them in that area, you're going to notice different things about that person. Like, let's say you always meet your friend in school, right? Y'all always chopping it up in school. Let's say after school, you go to their house. That's when you find out some real [ __ ] because that's the moment their mask starts to get hard to keep up. At some point, the mass falls. And it's really scary because it's like, yo, the scariest sign of depression is the one that looks normal. The people that look like they have nothing going on, the people that look like they just enjoy life. These are the scariest.

[00:05:08]These are the scariest situations you can be in. Because this happened to me and I literally went to the person's house and like I told y'all, the mass has to drop. We were just talking. They just started balling out crying, bro.

[00:05:21]Balling out crying at I want you guys to understand this will happen to you sometimes in life. Sometimes you may encounter somebody like this, but these people generally hold on a mask for so long that they can't hold the mask up anymore. And you have to be a very trustworthy person or somebody that's like really closer to them for this to happen. But some people really carry a lot, bro. And if you like really check up on them and really like show that you care, you could really like help this person a lot and stop them from doing something that shouldn't be done to themselves. Like you could really help them, right? That's all I'm going to say. But this person just started balling out crying, bro. And I'm just like I was kind of confused because I'm like, yo, this person is always laughing, always having a good time, always cheering other people up. I never thought I would ever see this person like this. Y'all would be surprised. is the people that you think are the happiest are really the saddest. Like they are going through more [ __ ] than these people that out here that are actually acting sad. Like they are going through the craziest [ __ ] ever, bro. And it's like your problems don't even amount to what they got going on. But these people hold on, they put on a mask and they act strong every single day, bro. I just want to get on here and let y'all know about that, bro. Really check up on y'all friends, bro. Especially if you're in Gen Z, bro. If that's somebody you call your friend, check the hell up on them, okay? Because we all do hella small talk. It don't really amount to nothing. Most of the times we be talking and we talking about nothing. What is really going on with life? Like what's really going on with you? How you feeling? Right? We need to start asking these questions to our friends, bro.
