Whiteboard Series: Soybean Desiccation

Research conducted across 19 sites in 13 US states demonstrates that applying soybean desiccation at growth stage R7 rather than R6.5 minimizes negative impacts on seed protein and oil yields while still providing harvest efficiency benefits; southern growers achieved 15-day earlier harvests while northern growers saw 3-4 day improvements, with desiccation at R7 eliminating yield losses observed when applied earlier.
