This video illustrates that financial stability and building wealth should take precedence over acquiring expensive material possessions like luxury cars, as demonstrated by a 30-year-old truck driver who prioritizes getting his 'bread up' (financial security) over buying a new Corvette, despite having the means to do so.

Why I’m a 30-Year-Old Trucker Living at Home (Call in Show)Added:
All right, Jordan. Three, two, one.
You're on the show.
>> Yo, what's going on, Jack?
>> Jordan, my boy. Talk to me. What do you got for us today?
>> Let's talk about cars, bro. Let's talk about cars. Let me show you mine.
>> Lay it on me.
>> Let me see if I can change this camera.
>> Look at that right here.
>> That's sick. Toyota, dude.
>> That's my daily.
>> Is that a Toyota?
>> Yeah.
>> What was that? 90. What is that? 97.
>> 99.
You got to tell more of your audience about these cars in Japan, bro, because your dollar just >> Dude, the JDM The JDM cars are where it's at, bro. I used to have an Infiniti.
>> Oh, that's a right side driver.
>> Yeah.
>> Telescopic steering wheel, heated seats, leather, sunroof. I [ __ ] love this car.
>> Bro, >> how much you pick that up for?
>> I got it for around 10 grand about a year and a half ago. I imported it myself.
>> Oh, you did?
>> Oh, you imported it?
Yeah.
>> How much did the import cost? I've always been curious about that.
>> You know, I got it for 10 grand and then the tariffs kicked in, so I had to pay an extra like three. So, I made it like 13 before I put the wheels or anything on it like that. God. Okay. But, um, >> the best part about this car, >> I don't got to pay it. And that's why I started watching your videos because I I related to that so much. It's that there's so many people trying to do the most and keep up with the Joneses in this country, especially for our age group. I'm 30. I'm about to be 34.
>> And I, as much as I'd love a new Corvette or something like that, it's just >> Oh, yeah. Cars.
>> It's ridiculous, bro. Like, this is my parents house. I still live at home.
Like, I don't want to. I'm grateful, but like >> I'm getting my bread up right now.
>> Yeah.
>> I I drive trucks for a living.
>> Oh, you're a trucker?
>> Yeah. So if you if you see trucks on the road that have like nine 10 cars on them, that's what I do. I go over the country over the road Michigan right where you are. And um I just I just got out of a long relationship because it kind of didn't work out. We we didn't see eye to eye. I'm about trying to get my money right and she wants to play house and family. I'm like now is not the time. Um, but anyways, >> even though technically we were just talking about that earlier though about people not having kids and we're in our mid30s going, "Dad, we're not ready yet." Isn't that kind of bizarre, though? Oh, let me ask you question. I'm the type of person, too, that was like, you know, I'll have kids when I'm 55 or whatever. I don't care. You know, it's just >> the the environ it's it's not the same, bro. I was watching your guys' video the other week about uh how California used to be. I'm like, man, that's so cool.
And it's too bad it's not the same. I'd love to be there.
>> Love to be there.
>> Let me let me ask you a a quick question real fast.
>> What do you got?
>> Um when you're delivering the the cars, how much does that usually run you? Like let's say I'm ship cuz cuz I just got quoted to ship one of my my old Cadillac from Florida to Michigan >> and they were char they were quoting me 3 G's. Does that sound about right?
>> To Michigan. You should be able to you should get it a little bit cheaper than that. I would say more like 1,500 bucks maybe two >> because we're doing I live in Connecticut. We're doing cars from Connecticut to Florida Snowbird for like 1,500 bucks.
>> Yeah, cuz I was like it's a different direction but it's not that much further >> because my my wheels were spinning and I'm like I'm like [ __ ] I'm about to buy me a truck, hire some guy and start delivering cars cuz this is >> Yeah. No, >> because the snowbird there's a big snowbird culture.
I've done cars from the East Coast to California for for around three grand, you know, >> and and to be honest, it should be more, but that's just where we're at with with the economy and everything.
>> Well, you got to have people that are willing to pay for it, cuz I backed out.
I'm about to actually say, "Fuck it."
And I'm going to drive the Caddy, the 85 Caddy. I'm just going to drive it. I think I think I'm just going to say stuff >> for sure. I got to get one of those shirts. Those are [ __ ] cool.
>> Yeah, man. when whenever you could swing it. Don't no I appreciate anybody that's bought a shirt. It means the world and no pressure. You calling in is great.
>> Let me ask you a question. Are you working for a company or is this something you you like bought this truck yourself?
>> So I got my CDL in 2022 and right out of school I got hooked up with a car hauling job from a family friend. So I worked for them for two years, went to a different company after that and now I'm at my third. I'd like to get my own truck.
>> I have a buddy that just bought his, but they're expensive, especially for car haulers.
>> How much does one of those trucks run?
>> My buddy just bought a truck for 200 grand. For me, I'm not trying to do that.
>> To be honest, I'd like to get a truck that if I do finance, I can pay it off in a year or something I can just pay off off rip. So, like 70,000 most.
That's where I want to be. But he's got a nice truck, but he's also got a 10 $10,000 car payment or truck payment.
And if [ __ ] doesn't work out, you know, you're on the hook. I I'm not trying to be there.
>> Well, because I just had movers move all my [ __ ] right? I had a lot of stuff, dude. I mean, >> we threw out so much crap.
>> There's no What I'm saying is they charged us 4,200 bucks just to move my stuff. Mhm.
>> And I was sitting there thinking, I'm like, whoever's running this stuff, they're making a they're making money >> and they did a [ __ ] job.
>> They did a [ __ ] job and got paid real good. And and I didn't pay I paid the cheapest, not the cheapest we could find.
>> But I was like, damn. It was like four grand.
>> You know, a big problem in the country, too, uh, for shipping anything is the brokers get in the way. They're like middlemen. So they're telling the customer one thing, it's really this much, but in actuality, it's a lot cheaper. They're trying to make their money in between. So it [ __ ] the customer and the driver at the same time. It's something that not a lot of people are talking about, but that's a real problem. Brokers >> I watched a video on the brokers.
They're [ __ ] They're like hawks.
>> Yeah.
>> Yep. But I don't want to hold you guys, but you should definitely make a video about these Japanese cars and how your your dollar just goes further for what you get. This car has 50,000 uh kilometers on it, >> so it's like barely 5,000 miles.
>> I used to have a G35.
That thing >> Infinity.
>> Yeah, it was a tank, dude. That thing was sick.
>> Yeah. I mean, I'm I'm still I'm still rocking the the 2007 Mercury Grand Marquee, man.
>> Yeah. Keep it going, bro. This thing will last me the rest of my life if it wants to. If it >> And honestly, I I'm at the point where if I ever get a new car, I'll probably just lease it. It's literally a fraction of the price compared to buying.
>> Yeah.
>> Um, you know, that's but that's just me.
That's just me.
>> All right, brother.
>> Appreciate it, >> Jordan. I appreciate you, dude.
>> Dude, that really bums me out. It's good call. We need to get into the moving business. Just moving [ __ ] That's what we need. People got a lot of stuff, guys.
>> Yeah.
>> And we got to move it or dispose of it, which would still be moving.
>> Yeah.
>> All right. We need to get a pool going together. That's what we need. We need our own investor. We need to come together, bunch of random individuals.
We pull the money in.
Then we make our own black rock. We call it Jack Rock.
>> Jack Rock.
>> Jack Rock. Jack Rock.
>> Jack Rock. Jack Rock.
>> That's be our advertisement. Okay.
>> Jack Rock.
>> You see how my wheels are turning?
>> We're going to tug it.
>> We're going to We're gonna tug it.
>> We'll tug it to your house.
>> Oh, we're going to [ __ ] give it to you, buddy. All right, Jordan. I appreciate you calling on. Uh, let me see. Yeah, moving in storage. Yeah, storage, dude. I used to when I was doing my eBay business, at one point I had two storage units running and I had to have air air conditioned storage unit drive ups. So, that was running me 300 uh 320 a unit. That was before COVID started to really kick in. Then they go, "Yeah, we're going to need uh" They went to 480 a unit and I said, "That's fine."
My whole house turned into a giant. I moved everything into my house. I'm just like going to bed at night like moving stuff out of the way. My whole house was filled, bro. Like, but hey, I had to make money somehow. I was like, >> it just didn't make didn't make sense anymore to do the storage. Now the storage units are reasonable. Now they're back down. Man, that was a really solid talk. I really enjoyed hanging with you. I appreciate everybody that bought a Caddyy Daddy shirt. Leave the link down below. If you want to keep the good times moving, you can watch that full video right here. Or you just keep scrolling on down. We got a lot of good stuff. Okay. Anyways, good talk.
