Gig economy platforms like Uber may intentionally manipulate quest counters to encourage drivers to complete more rides than required for bonuses, creating a systematic practice where the counter stalls just before completion to motivate additional driving behavior.

Is Uber Intentionally Stalling Driver Quests?!Added:
[music] One thing I always say is work smarter, not harder. If you aren't using the Solo app, then you may be working harder. So, let's change that. Download the app, link your accounts where you can manage your income, track your expenses, and project your taxes. Not only that, but you can plan by optimizing your time, make more, and even guarantee your daily pay with guaranteed earnings.
Download Solo and begin to work smarter, not harder, today. Link is in the description.
All right, let's get back to it. All right, let's talk about uh is Uber intentionally stalling the quest counter? I Dang it. This is all Uber [ __ ] I'm I I have nothing to do with it. Thank you for the drivers who sent me this. This driver sent me this. He goes, "Serge, I'm stuck at 49. I finished 50. Uber is not giving me my money." First of all, sir, I understand. I I I I mean, first of all, I don't know why he even attempted this quest, but then if it's 25 extra, you're going to do 50 trips anyway. Might as well do it. You know what I'm saying? I mean, yeah, why not? Why not? Half a tank of gas. You know what I mean? So, I'm like, "Yeah, cool."
So, anyway, but he says, "Serge, my my my my cost counter is stuck just like the other guy's trip counter was wrong, messed up." He goes, "Uber is stuck at 49, although I even did more than 50."
And then he goes uh into Uber support, the AI chatbot, whatever the heck it is, and then says, "Hey man, my thing is stuck at 49. I've had this experience a couple times.
How's your quest, guys? Are you getting stuck?" Yeah. Well, anyway, so this driver got stuck and then went to support and said support came back. Now, this could be a chatbot or this could be uh a person and I don't know, it says Vanita. Okay. So, Vanita says, "I understand the quest counter stopping before completion can be confusing." All right.
I'm looking into this issue to help clarify what's happening. Now, Bonita comes back again.
We appreciate your patience and continued support as a goal driver. Okay, cool. Now, here comes the good part. Maybe they didn't teach AI to lie. Based on similar reports, Chris, when the Uber driver app stops the quest counter right before completion, it is often a combination of system processing delays and systematic attempts to encourage more driving. H they didn't they didn't teach AI. Well, they're literally telling you right here that they are pausing the trip counter to make you drive more than just the 50 rides cuz well, why not take 53 or 54 and then we'll finally give you your $25 bonus with the hope that the car if you do 53 we'll get to 50. We're like kind of behind, right?
I'm telling you this is a smoking gun right here. After Uber sees this, they're going to go who?
What? We didn't train this AI properly whatsoever. [laughter] The conversation should have ended after that second comment. We appreciate your patience and continued support and I'm going like, "Wait a minute. Wait a minute. This is worth putting up. Have you guys seen this? Are you guys getting support like honest support messages like this?" Because this is all we we we used to think about these things like now kind of is getting proven. And then the driver goes back to Vanita and says, "Just noting that the relatively new tactic policy to stall the trip counter on quests at the very last trip to encourage taking more rides is anything but encouraging." [laughter] Yeah. Intentionally manipulating data to encourage behavior is very concerning. Uber should reconsider displaying this type of behavior. It is unprofessional at best. Now, this driver was very professional that he didn't use any profanity because if that was me and I got that response, I'd be going off. I'd be going putting my New Yorker hat on and I'll be going off on this thing.
So, folks, Uber, I want to know, was there a resolution to this though?
Yeah. Yeah. They went back to 50 after this conversation. Oh, okay.
But the admittance the admitting part of this says support saying attempts to encourage more driving.
Wow. And it says systematic. That means it's happening all the time. Mhm. I'm like so I think I think I think you need to know about that and uh pay attention to that. But but I believe there's that could pose some sort of problems there because you are literally telling 50 rides and then you are manipulating that data. So it looks like you have not hit that point or something is stuck or whatever whatever you think it might be. So you it encourages more driving.
That's that could be potentially a threeletter situation. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, that could be some some serious issues right there in my opinion. Well, I have it. I have the screenshots, folks.
You know what I mean? Yeah, take a screenshot of that. I bet you they retrained the AI now saying like decline decline. Don't Don't say that. Don't say that. Oh, thanks for the super chat.
Appreciate that. Uh, Vegas or Villages, Florida to Orlando airport rides, they were around 89 to 120 with the new change in lift. Lift is taking 30 off the top now. Mhm. Yep. Uh, moral of the story is talk to a couple Florida drivers. Become a Florida uh private ride uh and get clients and then talk to them about that. Talk to them about that because if you're going from Villages Florida to Orlando airport, uh you could get you can charge them less customers going to be happy and uh get them as as a potential private client. So if Lift wants to play the game, they're just they're just they're just saying here, please take our customer from us. We don't need them anymore.
Well, we have Jeff, our contributor from Florida, Orlando, and same area there, Daytona.
He has a beautiful private business. Go do it. Go do it. Yep. He talks about it uh a couple of times and so uh make sure you pay attention to those. Um and uh yeah, definitely definitely do that. That's my opinion or that's my thought process right there.
