This analysis provides a sobering look at how supply schedules dictate price ceilings, stripping away the hype to reveal the cold logic of tokenomics. It correctly identifies that while scarcity creates the narrative, utility-driven deflation is what actually sustains long-term value.

Crypto Inflation Explained BTC, ETH, XRP, XLM, SOL | Part 3
Added:Now, when we jump over and take a look at Bitcoin, as everybody knows, Bitcoin is the top dog. It was here first, it's been here the longest, and it's by far worth the most. But, what has made Bitcoin so absolutely resilient since it first came on the scene is the fact that it has a 4-year supply release schedule.
And every 4 years, the block size is cut in half. This controls the amount of coin supply coming onto the scene, reducing it over time, which makes Bitcoin inherently disinflationary. And when we look at Bitcoin, we can see that the current yearly inflation rate is sitting at 0.83%.
Incredibly low. The circulating supply is currently sitting at 20.06 million with a max supply of 21 million.
There's less than a million coins remaining to be released in circulation.
This is an optimal scenario. When we take a look at the Bitcoin chart, we can see how the amount of coins coming into circulation has affected the price. This chart is absolutely clear. As the incoming supply has been steadily decreased throughout the 4-year cycle, the price has gradually increased, which has allowed the price of Bitcoin to continuously appreciate because it's not being completely smothered by inflation, even setting the current all-time high last October. And in regard to the max coin supply being such a small portion of what remains, right about 5%, and it's released being halved every 4 years, in terms of Bitcoin, crypto inflation is not a problem. And remember to stick around till the end of this video to find out which one of these five cryptocurrencies covered in today's video has a current negative inflation rate of 0.026%.
But, sadly, the crypto world of today and the companies and creators behind these coins are willing to cultivate any amount of hope possible in order to convince people to buy their coins, doing nothing more than selling you a fake dream.
The greatest thing since sliced bread.
The greatest thing since sliced bread.
Millionaire.
Billionaire. Savvy?
This hype, which is absolutely required in order to convince the masses to not do their own due diligence, not look into the coins and the facts, but rather to trust the narrative. Man, I'm so glad I bought this coin. It's doing so well.
Man, I'm up Wait a minute. What the hell just happened?
>> [music] >> So, here's the plan. We don't have the money we need to finance our business.
So, what we're going to do is we're going to create this crypto. We are absolutely going to talk it up in the media, on social media, using influencers. Then, we're going to sell into the momentum, making billions. And then, we're going to use all this money to finance our new data centers.
And if anybody uses ChatGPT or any other AI to fact-check us, it's just going to lie to them.
>> [laughter] >> Lane, stop telling the people the truth, Lane. How are we going to continue to lie and steal from the people if you're telling them the truth, Lane?
When we jump over and take a look at XRP, the current inflation rate is sitting at 5.64% per year. With a circulating supply at 62.47 billion, and a max supply of 100 billion, which is significantly higher than what Bitcoin's max supply is. And at this time, 62.47% of all of the XRP that will ever be minted has already been released into circulation, which leaves about 47 and 1/2% still coming down the pipe. And when we take a look at the XRP chart, this is a prime example of how even though there is a very high max supply and a relatively low inflation rate, but coupled with very high demand, we can clearly see by looking at this chart that even though XRP is currently in a bear market, that it is still in an uptrend, having set the all-time high in July of 2025. And even though the circulating supply has increased, having the high demand will very easily get XRP the increased market cap that it needs to eventually not only get back to the previous all-time high, but to set a much higher all-time high in the future.
When we take a look at Stellar, the inflation rate is about twice as high as what we see in XRP. And as you know, Stellar is a fork of XRP, so they're basically cousins with a current yearly inflation rate of 9.97%, but it has about half of the coins currently circulating with a circulating supply at 34.19 billion. And the max supply is exactly half, sitting at 50 billion. And when we look at the XLM chart, we can see something very similar to what we just saw in the XRP chart, with the exception that the all-time high from 2018 still stands to this very day. And it has now been about 3,103 days since that all-time high was set.
And there's no doubt whatsoever that in the last 8 and 1/2 years, this inflation rate compounding over time has absolutely [clears throat] contributed to the fact that XLM has not been able to set a new all-time high. But I do believe that it's absolutely going to hit one again in the future. But what's important to consider in this regard is how the increasing circulating supply and the inflation rate bringing that supply into the marketplace can even affect the price of assets that have demand as big as Stellar, even though I think the biggest part of Stellar's demand is going to come in the future.
And when we take a look at Solana, it currently has an inflation rate of 8.6% a circulating supply of 582.41 million, but it has a max supply that is infinite, which means it can be printed into oblivion. And I actually did a video specifically on Solana talking about this topic. And if you'd like to watch it, there will be a link to that video at the end of this video. But we can already see right here that even though Solana hit its all-time high during the Trump election pump in 2025, going back since the previous all-time high, which was set in 2021, in those four years, the increasing supply and inflation rate absolutely contributed to the fact that in 2025, Solana was barely able to scratch out a new all-time high.
That certainly doesn't mean that they won't hit a new all-time high or the prices won't go higher, but in order for that to occur, there's going to have to be an increase in demand, an increase in capital inflows, and it's going to require a much larger market cap in order just to get back to the previous all-time high, let alone setting a new one. Watch the video I did on Solana and this will make a lot more sense. I went into a lot of detail on this in that video. But I already know what you're thinking. Should I buy? Should I buy?
Should I buy? Should I buy? Huh? Huh?
Huh? [laughter] Should I buy? Should I buy?
Uh-oh. There it goes. Wonder what happened to the price of that one.
Now taking a look at Ethereum, which out of the 15 cryptocurrencies that I've covered in this three-part series is the only one that has a negative inflation rate, currently sitting at -0.026%, which isn't much, but it is inherently deflationary. It currently has a circulating supply of 120.68 million and a max supply that is infinite, which means that it can be printed into oblivion. But in terms of Ethereum, there are actually rails that are put in place to be used in an attempt to keep Ethereum inherently deflationary over time. Look into this if you'd like more information. I don't have enough time in this video to cover this aspect. But in terms of the coins that do have an infinite supply, Ethereum definitely has the best model in order to govern and manage this aspect of the coins construction. And when we jump over and take a look at the chart, we can see that the all-time high was set in August of 2025. We can also see that going all the way back to 2017, Ethereum is still trading within an uptrend. And being inherently disinflationary, even though Ethereum has an infinite supply, this is a great example to show when it's managed properly, responsibly, price appreciation can continue. So this just goes to show you that all coins with an infinite supply potential doesn't necessarily mean that they are a bad investment. Anymore than a cryptocurrency that has a limited supply means that it's a good investment. There are a lot of factors that you need to consider when looking at different cryptocurrencies. And not all cryptocurrencies are created equally.
But one thing's for sure in regard to the propaganda that's spread by a lot of the coin creators and a lot of the companies behind these cryptocurrencies, they will say anything to get you to continue to buy because they need your liquidity. So it's up to you as an investor to do your due diligence, to do your research, to run the numbers, to do the math, to ensure that any coin you're investing in fits your investment strategy. Because not doing so, believing the propaganda, and just blindly purchasing and holding these coins for long periods of time could absolutely come back to haunt you with a vengeance.
And as I mentioned earlier, if you'd like more details in regard to how this inflation applies to Solana, click on the card in the upper right-hand corner to continue on to watch that video.
