[00:00:03]Today we're at the IHS's crash test facility in Virginia. And as well as a tour of the facility, we just saw the 2026 Mazda CX-5 get crash tested, and it was crazy. In this test, a vehicle collides with a stationary barrier at 40 mph with 40% of the vehicle's front overlapping as a part of the IHS's newest and most demanding evaluation, the updated moderate overlap front crash test. In this test, both driver and rear seat dummies are on board. Experiencing a crash test in person was a thrilling experience. The tension builds as the countdown begins. The propulsion system comes to life and the extremely bright lights hit. Then the doors swing open and the car starts to move forward. In under 20 seconds, it's over. The impact was extremely loud and left most of us stunned for a few seconds. Afterward, we stepped in for a closer look at the aftermath. Mazda has more IHS Top Safety Pick Plus awards than any other brand as of May 2026 and has earned 99 IHS Top Safety Awards since 2008. We're anticipating IIHS will release their official rating in late summer or fall 2026.
