A listening heart (shama) is the key to receiving wisdom, as Solomon requested an understanding mind and hearing heart rather than material possessions; wisdom is everywhere calling out, but we must learn to listen with our hearts rather than just our minds, which often bounce things off and question everything, especially bad news. When we listen with our hearts, the Word of God rises up from within, bringing peace, confidence, and blessings. This skill requires shutting up, paying attention, and being willing to hear both blessings and curses in God's covenant, as wisdom is not something we need to search for but rather something we need to learn to receive through attentive listening.
