[00:00:00]You might be saying, well, you're supposed to be an expert, shouldn't you have known that? Well, I knew it was likely. Actually, I've had big debates and arguments with some of the experts about how using those calculations is a mistake and you should do everything with these iterative measurements.

[00:00:11]There's a couple things. First off, in this size room,.3 seconds is a good target. Meaning,.28 seconds is pretty darn close. We're not really that far off the target.

[00:00:21]Um this room was meant to be sort of a test of like if you calculate everything really carefully, where does it put you?

[00:00:27]And uh it it I think reinforced my ideas that I already understood, which was that if you rely too heavily on those calculations, you're probably going to end up being under your target, potentially by a lot.

[00:00:41]Because actually the amount of absorption that's in this room was already substantially less than the calculations said it should be.

[00:00:47]Um and then the third thing was what you do about it. So, the room actually sounds pretty good as is. I don't think that there's a real issue.

[00:00:54]But, because it's a lab and because I want to use it in a way where I can test these things out, I will be changing some of the absorber panels um with a panel that absorbs differently.

[00:01:04]So, it's going to be a base only bandwidth restricted panel.

[00:01:08]And I'm going to try to keep the bass absorption where it is or actually get it even lower. And then get the mid-high absorption a little higher, so that we can get up to that.32 maybe to.35 second range that I was kind of hoping to be at while keeping the bass range nice and flat. So, we'll see how that works. But, I would say for most people that's you don't need to do that. This is just me playing around with some panels to kind of see how they work in different environments and you know, kind of test the uh theory with reality.
