Rising fuel prices due to geopolitical tensions, combined with government subsidies, create powerful catalysts for electric vehicle adoption, as demonstrated by NIO's 22% year-over-year sales growth in April 2026, which significantly outperformed China's overall 7% passenger car market growth.

Nio's Secret to Smashing Chinese Market ๐คซ The 2026 Takeover Has Begun ๐Added:
Now, when you see a company growing at a pace that is above the normal growth or the average growth in a country, that is expected to be a good sign to say that, "Look, that car is outperforming or that car maker is outperforming the market." I mean, China right now, the passenger nav whole sales seen a a seen a 7% rise to 1.
22 million units.
This is massive uh to see that kind of growth, but now coming to our very own NIO, you know, those 29,000 or over 29,300 cars that they sold in April, that represented a 22% increase year-over-year. 22% increase, more than China's whole sale, right? Which is absolutely great. Now, one thing that you will know, which is the biggest catalyst right now in China, over and above or superseding even the subsidies that China has been giving, those 5% subsidies that China has been giving to the consumers, scrapping their old cars for new energy vehicle cars, is of course, the tension in the Middle East. I mean, we all know that oil prices all over the world, I mean, we all know that oil prices of have went up or have skyrocket and making gas cars to be so expensive. I don't know about your country. In my country, already this year, we have succumbed to two gas increases. And I think the first increase was 13%.
The fuel prices or the gas prices increased by 13%. The The time, which is I think last week, it was 10%, but I mean, in my country, which is South Africa, gas prices, the first increase, they increase between 13% to 20% in terms of the increase. I'm I'm looking at all fossil fuels, right? So, this is not good, and just last week, we got another increase. I mean, in China, where NIO is at, obviously, gas price apparently have increased by uh by around 20%, which shows you or makes gas price to be so expensive right now to buy. I mean, who would buy a gas car right now at this kind of prices? So, the conflict in the Middle East, it is also helping uh companies like NIO to to be able to do so well because most people now, instead of going to buy gas cars, they're buying electric vehicles because they know that the impact of oil prices surging doesn't have much impact onto onto onto EV cars. Yes, it does have some minor impacts because these cars, obviously, yes, it does have some sort of impact because number one, these cars, of course, they are being produced at some of the things that produces the components of this car uses the oil, right? Like inside the motor of the EV car, they say there's oil. The tires, part of what produces or help in tires production is oil, and these cars are shipped with trucks, and therefore, slightly, there is that impact, but with gas cars or engine cars, for a gas car to move, it needs a gas, right? You need to pour gas onto it. Gas come from oil, and it's just becoming so so so expensive to travel with a gas car. And that has been the one thing that uh that that that is making a China new energy vehicle uh market penetration to uh continue increasing amidst that Middle East conflict. Amidst the subsidy that the Chinese government has been offering to those that are buying that are buying new energy vehicle cars. So, we have to somewhere somehow look uh on the Of course, we don't want No one wants the Middle East war. We all want that war to end. We all want uh of course, the price of oil to cool off.
And but truth of the matter is that no one knows when that will happen, right? We might There might be signs, but no one can put a specific date. And that is what is making of course, Chinese consumers to to opt for new energy vehicle cars. I mean, if you have a look onto the graph, I mean, the whole sales I mean, for for for last year and the 2024, you can see that look for for the very first time we are seeing a gap or a minor gap a a a good gap between the performance of uh new energy vehicle whole sale sales. And this is as per the China Passenger Car Association, right? It's so amazing.
It's so interesting. And yeah.
I look forward look forward to what is coming. So, this is resulting into new energy vehicles like NIO to get good sales amidst uh of course, the the tensions in the Middle East to get good sales adding a catalyst onto the already 5% subsidies that and the Chinese government has been giving to new energy vehicle car makers. So, look, I'm telling you it's about to go down. This is good news to NIO and I one thing that I can tell you once you go electric, I don't think it's easy to convert back because obviously electric vehicles are the future, right? And in terms of technology, I don't think gas cars are catching up to the kind of technologies we are seeing onto EV cars. EV cars like NIO, you know, their technology it's on another level and no one can come close or no one can easily beat what they are doing.
If you don't believe, go read about what Ford said after shipping some of the Chinese new energy vehicle car makers onto the US just to try to see how far China car makers have went in terms of technology.
You will notice that look, what China has done or what China's new energy vehicle market has done, look, they are quite ahead by so many years when you look into the other countries outside of China, right? They are so ahead, but that is I suppose another topic for another day where we'll revisit such stories, but look, this wholesale sales in April figures is just a perfect example of it's a perfect example of um where we are where we are headed or where NIO is headed as a company.
I mean, there's growth potential and it's only the beginning. It's only the beginning. I mean, I was reading on other news, other articles of the top destinations where obviously um China new energy vehicle exports have been going to and Brazil comes as the first destination where look Chinese Nio exports exceeded 118,000, which is something that is great.
Companies like BYD, companies like Geely, companies like Leapmotor, they are exporting a lot of cars, right? But hopefully on that list we will get to see Nio being featured one way or the other in the near future. But anyways, let me leave that there. Tell me what you think about this. Blue skies coming.
Long term we'll win. That's all from me, my dear friends. And God bless you all.
