LOCAL BORICUA talks about life on the island at the KIOSKOS DE LUQUILLO BEACH, PUERTO RICO🇵🇷Added:
Just by being a positive person, everything will will come to you, you know.
>> Any Oh, [ __ ] >> Nice.
>> My check.
>> That's right. We are here at uh Hibaros in Lu.
>> That's right. Let's check this.
>> Check it out.
man.
>> Cheers, brother.
>> Cheers, man.
>> To an amazing day.
>> Thank you for the experience.
>> Oh, thank you. So grateful for you, bro.
>> So, if I didn't mention, Miguel here is my spiritual adviser. Allaround great guy.
Yeah.
>> And uh this is just one of many adventures around the island.
>> Yeah, man.
>> Okay, Miguel. So, what do we have here?
This is alaporia, which is one of my favorite dishes on the island.
>> Yeah.
>> And this is stuffed with ground beef.
And it's uh >> ground beef. Is this Is it the same?
>> This one looks like >> Yeah, I think they're the same.
>> Yeah.
>> I think yours have like a different stuff, too.
>> I think so. That looks amazing, man.
Yeah, it looks really good. But do you think this is um plantain in here?
Platano?
>> I think that that just mashed potatoes.
>> Oh, okay. Nice. Perfect.
>> I think so.
>> Okay. Well, let's uh let's check this out, shall we?
>> Shall we?
>> You want the mayo ketchup?
>> I'll try I'll try with the with the two sauces.
>> Oo, one of each. Nice. I like it.
>> I don't want to get >> I'm not going to double dip. So you don't have to worry about that. Dude, this is good.
>> Try with this one.
>> It's good, right? Like crispy. Sometimes you get alaporia and it's not so crispy.
This is good. Let me try the special sauce she brought us.
It's not that bice spicy.
Wow.
It's a really good one.
>> Super good.
But >> this is amaz This is really good because I consider myself a bit of a connoisseur of Al Caporia even though I'm not from here of course, but uh it's something that I've grown very fond of and I try it all different places. is like out in um Pon there's a a kiosk out there called Kiosco El Borika where they cook over the wood fire and the different fryers. Yeah.
>> And they make alapura balito. Really good.
>> So Miguel, you said you've never been to the Kioskos de Kio. That's true, right?
>> No, man.
>> Which is unbelievable. But you said you passed by here many times, but first time actually stopping to eat. Yeah, I haven't passed by, but I'm really like taking the experience of being here. So, >> Mhm.
>> I'm just here like taking it all in, man.
>> Which I think this is I mean, a this is a gorgeous day. I mean, look.
>> Yeah.
>> How beautiful the ocean is today.
>> And also, you know, the people here at Naros that were super nice to us >> and uh so far on that's our server.
Yeah, >> is our uh server.
>> Mhm.
I talked to her, talked like she was, we were going to do a little video and >> she gave us the permission to like record here in the second floor.
>> Yes.
>> Pretty good view. So, >> yeah.
>> Shout out to Eugene, right?
>> We're going to ask her what her name is.
>> We got to ask her.
>> She's super nice and she's very uh informative about the different foods and drinks here, which is also amazing.
So, of course, anybody that comes here to the Kioskos de Lukio, they're definitely going to want to visit Hibaros and get the amazing service from our friend as soon as we find out exactly what her name was. Just such a beautiful place. And you can't see it from here from this angle, but behind us, we're looking at the the mountains of Aljunke in the rainforest. There's like a big cloud over there just uh covering that mountain. beautiful patches of sun on the side of it. So, we're really not exactly sure what's coming because we uh just said to surprise us. So, we're going to see what shows up and I'm sure it's going to be amazing.
>> Yeah.
>> So, tell me uh Miguel, what are your favorite things about the island? Like culturally, musically, uh landscape wise, beaches, what are what are your favorite things?
>> Well, I think you mentioned all of them, bro.
>> Yeah. Can you give me some examples?
>> No, I mean the my favorite thing always going to be the the beach, man.
>> Like >> what's your favorite beach?
>> I mean, I haven't like visited all of them, but my favorite beach is because it has everything that you like want in a place like uh Beawa in Puerto Pton. Peru Beabaja Beach.
>> Mhm. Yeah.
>> Like, bro, you you have a parking there.
You can park safely.
>> You have like uh >> like restaurants there. You can eat. You can drink.
>> Yeah.
>> It's those type of places.
>> What do you mean you can drink? Like bring your own drinks or >> You can bring your own drinks, but they have >> You can buy drinks.
>> Yeah, you can buy drinks there.
>> And bro, it's just a nice place. So, I always go there because it's just like it's just, how do you say like it's the closest for me. Mhm.
>> It's the closest beach for me.
>> Yeah.
>> And it's like for me it's the best one.
I mean, not a lot not a lot of people are going to agree with me, >> but I'm most people that live here would 100% agree with you, especially people that live up on the north coast >> because there's San Juan, Dorado, Vega, Baja, Bealta in there.
>> Yeah, Ala.
>> But um >> I think most of the people that we know that's like their favorite beach. Like whenever I ask somebody what's your favorite favorite beach, they say Marba.
>> Marba. Yeah. Puerto NOT Nova >> and uh you know with the waves crashing over the rocks that's really cool. I didn't know you could buy drinks there because the only time I've been there actually um I was with a friend with a cooler. So we had our own you know Madayas which is a local favorite. Also, I was just thinking that um something that I love about the island is the the Mayo Kitchen mayo, which is like a it's so unique to here and yet so delicious and it's also great with all the the fried foods of the island.
>> Yeah. Like panadia.
>> Uhhuh. Exactly.
>> Yeah, bro.
>> It go I mean it kind of goes like every fried food, but >> most people like it to with the tostones, too, you know.
>> Oh, yeah. I love to. And what what are tostones? to smashed.
>> Yeah, it's smashed uh plain tain.
>> They fried it.
>> Tastes amazing, bro.
>> Uhhuh. Nice. Yeah. And there's also tostones deana, which is >> Yeah. Those ones are my favorite. Like I'm more like Yeah. Deana.
>> It's like more crispy.
>> They're like more crispier and they're not like the flavor is not too strong.
>> Yeah.
>> But bro, like >> Yeah.
>> You can go with each one, you know? And the the pana which is bread fruit also grows I mean literally we could probably see one around here somewhere like in the abundance of trees all around us.
>> Yeah.
>> But grows up in the tree just like a green green veget. Is it a fruit or veget? Must be a fruit, right? Oh yeah.
Red fruit.
>> It's got to be a fruit. Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> But delicious.
>> And with mayo ketchup.
>> But what what's your favorite beach?
>> Uh well, you know what? I have a lot. I love uh Crash Boat. Crash.
>> People like jumping off the pier.
beach. Yeah, a on the west coast, which is also great for uh sunsets.
>> For me, the west coast is the best side of Puerto Rico.
>> Yeah, like >> Yeah, we were talking about that.
>> Yeah, I see a lot of people that just want to go to the north like San Juan, which is pretty good, >> right?
>> But for me, I always like the best side of Puerto Rico is the west side, you know.
>> Yeah, that's the most beautiful sunsets.
>> Yeah. most be I mean >> boat trips beaches >> boat trips Maya how do you say that one what's the name of that one the other one I don't remember the other one >> oh and uh the lighthouse >> the ron yeah >> yeah ron is pretty good too >> all the surfers love that out there >> so yeah you know have you been down to the the lighthouse in Cabo Rojo down in the bottom there you know that sits a top like 200 foot cliffs, >> which is uh so beautiful. And then there's a beach there called Playasia, but there's not a lot of um facilities.
I don't even think I've ever seen a bathroom there or >> really >> I mean which is you know somewhat common because there's so many beaches around the island that are just you know they're just beautiful untouched beaches which brings me to a great point which is the saying la which means the the beaches belong to the people because that's it's so important and it keeps the development down from all the you know you go somewhere like Florida nowadays and the whole coast is just overdeveloped with giant skyrises, you know, blocking houses and sunsets. Whereas here, like everywhere you look, even in the distance here, yes, there's some kind of maybe condos over there, but for the most part, I'm on this whole stretch of land, which by the way, we're looking towards Rio Grande, ultimately San Juan.
And then this direction is going to be Fardo Saba, where the ferry port is that takes you out to the islands of Vie and Kraba. Oh, this looks nice.
>> That looks very, very nice. Look at that thing.
>> Hello.
>> Thank you so much. This one has alcohol.
>> They both have alcohol.
>> Oh, they both have alcohol. You're in trouble now.
>> We are in trouble now.
>> That's great.
>> And please would you remind is your name on >> Okay, great. Yeah, we have a friend of the same name and we were trying to remember it.
>> Oh, really?
>> Yeah.
>> Not many people have my name.
>> Yeah. No, it's it's true. But it sounds a lot different in Spanish than in English.
>> Ah, what is it? How does it pronounce in English?
>> No, >> I love Aon. Aon sounds so beautiful.
>> Unice.
>> Oh, okay. Nice.
>> Which is, you know, that in um I think it was in the 70s that there was this show which there was this old lady, her name was Ununice, and she was like a grumpy old lady. Had that, you know, that stamp on it.
>> Ah, not for me though.
>> But I'm pretty old so I don't remember that. No, >> all I know, the only unice I know are my friend that I love and now you.
>> Thank you. I also love >> I know because you love her and now you love me.
>> Yeah.
>> No, but it's the same as Maria and Marie. Like Mar is how we say it, >> right?
>> Yeah.
>> Cheers.
>> That's great. This is amazing. See, >> so I order a wabo fashion. So I'm going to bring you with the food. So >> Oh, wow.
>> Thank you.
>> Okay. Just for me or for both of us? Um, >> it's probably just for me because he probably won't drink it.
>> I mean, I won't be I'll be okay with this.
>> They're super happy.
>> Thank you, Aon.
Let's go. This is the um she said the original pinoc colada which is not a frozen drink >> but a drink on the rocks. Miguel had asked for no alcohol but she decided that you were going to be more entertaining if you had some alcohol when you meet up with your friends later.
>> So let's get a closeup of this here.
>> Bro, this looks so insane.
>> Amazing. Has some slices of pineapple, strawberry. Looks like blueberries.
Cheers, brother.
So grateful for you, man.
>> Thank you, man.
>> Bro, >> nice.
Damn, this is living, bro.
>> Bro.
>> Okay, so let's see. I think uh we were talking about beaches.
>> Wow.
>> Oh, and I was saying that um let's see. That way is Rio Grande and that this way is Fardo and there's a Seven Seas beach. Have you ever been there or heard of it?
>> It's a really >> I mean I've I've heard of it but never been there.
>> It's also a balio which balio means that they have like bathrooms, facilities, showers, usually some kind of food service and parking and that they charge for that like5 or $10.
>> Usually it's like5 10 bucks.
>> Uh-huh.
But that one over there is beautiful.
Oh, and there's a a lighthouse over here. I can't remember what it's called.
the lighthouse in Bajardo. Lascavves, maybe. That sound familiar?
>> Lasaveas. No.
>> Yeah, I have to look it up.
>> Yeah, >> but that's Oh, that's right. It's in a a peninsula that's called Las Croabas.
You've heard of that? And that's um so on that peninsula, that's where the bioay is, the one in Farardo. So that's where they have something called Kayak Village. And there they have again all these little kioskos that are different excursion companies that take trips out to the bio bay and you paddle out through like a a mangrove channel and then it opens up into the bay which is I think it's called Bajia Grande and then once you get out there you know the sun is setting it's like golden hour it's super beautiful and at that same time you know you see like the lighthouse >> up on the hill. So from seven seas beach which is right next to it. I didn't know this at the time until I went to the beach and you could see the lighthouse up on the side of the beach as well. So that area of Las Croabas is amazing because it has seven seas beach the kayak village uh the bioluminescent bay the lighthouse and everything else. And it's fardo so it's close to everything.
What what do you think is the the inspiration behind you like being so adventurous with the island >> like because because you know what >> right to be really like transparent with you >> you know a lot about the island that a lot of people that live here don't know about it.
>> So what what do you think is the inspiration behind that?
>> Well I'll be honest. So when I, as you know, I sailed here with some friends and actually those friends I they ended up sailing all the way down to like Trinidad and Tobago up the coast of Venezuela.
>> Yeah.
>> But when I arrived here, I was in Cabo Rojo and I just loved it so much that I decided to stay.
>> Oo, now we're in trouble. Here comes a big plate of food.
>> Jesus Christ, bro.
This is like the great pyramids of Egypt or something like that on these. Uh, is that arros gand? Oh, wow.
>> No, I you ah >> meat pa.
>> Uhhuh. Oh, okay. Nice.
>> Wow, it looks amazing. Thank you.
>> Look at that, bro.
Wow.
Nice.
>> Wow.
>> And I'll be back with >> Thank you so much. Wow. No, I think this is going to do us for a while.
>> Okay. So, Miguel, >> refresh us what she just told us here.
This is uh this is fried snapper.
>> Yeah. stuffed with mariscos, which is >> what what exactly would you say? Miscos shellfish like uh I see some muscles maybe.
>> Yeah, that's that looks like uh like octopus.
>> Uhhuh. Yeah.
>> Looks like octopus aroma.
>> Yes. The great pyramid of Isa here is most which is uh tell us about that.
That's like rice and beans with some meat. like rice, beans, uh amaro.
>> Yeah.
>> Amario, which is a sweet mature plantain, right?
>> Yeah.
But bro, this is so much food.
>> Yeah. This is unbelievable. Oh, and here's the tostones we were talking about.
>> So, smashed fried plantains.
>> This is so much food, bro.
>> Yeah. Unbelievable.
>> And what did she say? This is like some kind of paella or something, she said.
>> Yeah, paella.
Not sure what what has inside.
>> And then of course mafongo, which is also smashed plantains.
>> Yeah, smashed garlic, garlic, uh butter, >> sometimes some bacon I've seen in mafongo.
>> Amazing. Wro, >> I'm going to eat this half.
>> Stay take a bite. Take a bite.
>> Yeah. Let's see what this is.
>> Let's see.
>> Steak. This looks like a like a churasco or something.
>> Yeah.
>> Wow.
>> Pretty good.
>> Mhm.
>> Jesus Christ.
>> Let me dive in here.
>> Where did it begin?
>> Wow.
I love miao to [ __ ] and now this spa but I always find myself getting I love mafongo that's stuffed with the mariscus.
>> Yeah, >> that's why I was asking I never know exactly what's in it. Oh, there's shrimp in there.
>> Yeah, there's shrimp.
>> Definitely see some octopus.
>> Shrimp. Octopus. Onions.
This is honestly maybe the best pin colada I've ever had.
It's delicious, right?
>> Yeah.
>> So good.
>> So fried fried snapper, which red snapper all over these waters here.
Also, uh mahi mahi, which is locally known as dorado, also throughout these waters.
But so we were talking about um my love for the island and its people, right?
>> So like I was saying, when I arrived here, I sailed around the the Caribbean coast of the island. So that was Cabo Rojo to Pon, Juanika, Salenas, Patas, all the way out to uh Kabra and Viees and then back. And when I was coming back, my friends were like setting up the boat to continue on sailing. And I just I fell in love with the the island and the people. Everybody that I encountered, just like on here, super nice. Like everybody I encounter on this island is so amazing. And the weird thing is like I feel more connected to the the local people of this island than I ever have anywhere else. I mean, I'm from the the Midwest in the US and I love the people there.
They're also very humble, very nice.
Maybe that's why I feel so, you know, connected to the people here. Like yourself, Miguel, you're one of the most amazing like spiritual nice people that I've ever met. And like from the first first time we ever met it was like we instantly dove into this deep conversation about some pretty you know wild topics of spirituality and things like that.
But you know I just um to me it's the the humbleness of the people. And that also goes back to what we were talking about las pueblo because you know when you visit this island you have to remember that this is sacred land to the people that live here you know like yourself and we don't want to change that we don't want to change anything when we visit somewhere when we travel to distant lands you know amazing places around the world we never want to change what is there and what is special for the local people we only want to observe enjoy you know, partake like you can be a part of it and enjoy everything that the locals enjoy because the truth is and you know like if you join with the locals and be humble and you know they will all like yourself will share their culture with you no matter where you go but I've never experienced that anywhere like here.
>> Oh great.
>> Now tell me tell me about it. That's an oldfashioned made with >> It's an old fashioned made with guapo.
>> Guapo.
>> No.
It's like when they extract the sugar like a pool or something.
>> Like right there in front of there's a guy that sells.
>> Okay.
Yeah.
>> Pretty good. Nice. There's a guy out here. What? He has like a machine that he runs the sugar cane through and extract it.
>> Oh, but he has like the sugar canes and you know maybe >> but it's like on the other side.
>> Oh, okay.
>> And this stands you see the sugar canes.
>> Okay. Wow. Amazing. That's so cool. This is fant. It's way too much for us to eat. This is amazing. Everything is so good. This was a paella, you said.
Okay.
Very nice.
>> Amazing. This is fantastic. Couldn't have asked for anything better than this.
>> Thank you so much.
>> Thank you.
>> You're amazing.
So you you you want to try the chio?
>> Mhm.
>> Try, man.
>> And this she said is a paella with churasco and chicken and um sausage, right? I think she said >> salicha chisso.
>> Chisso chisso.
>> So what's the difference between chiso and salicha? Is that the right? Am I saying it right?
>> Yeah.
Sachisha, sausage, chiso. I'm not even sure how what like chriisso is in English.
>> Chisso might be I'm not really sure how the wine just got here or I don't even know, man.
Wow.
But some kind of sausage. It's like a ground pork of sorts.
>> Yeah.
I've noticed there's a couple changes that are casing our food here. So, you know, that's a greater and gro. I know that they're super smart.
>> Yeah.
>> And they will steal your food.
>> Yeah.
>> Ooh, look at this. This is a must be a muscle or something or a clam.
>> This like a shell.
So, Migo, what were we talking about before that?
>> We're talking about um your experience here.
>> But >> well, we were talking about the humbleness of the people and >> Yeah.
>> what you love about.
>> I mean, I think it's this like a scenarios where like the people that grew up here.
>> Uhhuh.
It might be like a like a some kind of difficult to like recognize how good of a place is is here.
>> Oh, like when you grew up here.
>> Yeah. Because like the people that always visit that that I talk to, they're always like, "Bro, like everybody is so good around here. Like everybody treats you like very kind."
>> Mhm. And I feel like the the people that grew up here like sometimes want to leave here >> like want to want to leave the island just to like find new things >> without without noticing like the good things are here like the >> the great climate, the beaches, >> everything, >> the good people, the culture, >> like it's such a positive like environment compared to like other places. Yes.
>> That I I cannot imagine me like living other like in other places.
>> That says so much about the island that you live in.
>> Yeah, man. Cuz it's like the climate is so good here.
Like I know it's humid. I know it's like sometimes it gets like too much.
>> Hot and humid. Uh-huh. Well, like I just got used to it and you know like compared to like other places where it's like very cold, >> not too much going on. Cold both like both climate and the people.
Sorry, I just had some chiao in my throat. But no, like cold as in the sense of uh like the the people can be cold and the climate can be cold.
>> Yeah, absolutely.
>> Mhm. It's like you you're going to notice it, you know, when you like like what what do you think is was the the most like shockingly like moment when you moved here >> like cultural wise, you know, >> like when you when you got here, >> you must have like this shock in like culture. Okay.
>> And like the environment, you know, >> right?
>> Yes. I mean the the heat, but I love the heat. Everybody who knows me knows how much I love the heat. But no, you're right. I think the thing that was the most shocking was the music because I, you know, I've heard salsa and bachata and reaton a little bit before I arrived. But um like everywhere you go here, it's like music is like the soundtrack of the island. Mhm.
>> I'm actually surprised that we can't hear any music right now because there's almost always like a a salsa band playing in a restaurant. And of course, also to be fair, it's a Tuesday afternoon at 2:00. You know, if you were here on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday, this whole strip is going to be lit up with salsa music, people dancing moren. So, for me, I think that was it. And then you look at somebody like Bad Bunny, who's like a world superstar, right?
possibly the largest superstar in the history of the world.
>> Yeah.
>> And has brought so much attention to the island to the music of the island like Reon. But not only that, but you know with his latest album he even has right salsa and I mean there's probably bachata on there. You have to help me with that because I'm not as familiar.
>> Yeah. He just put the um the cultural side of the music of uh Puerto Rico >> and just like focus on that in a whole album.
>> And I think that and I think that was the key of making like very very worldwide cuz he just like emphasizing the like the cultural >> of uh Puerto Rico, you know.
>> Mhm.
So >> yeah, it's been amazing.
>> Yeah.
>> You know what? This is the most and I just got a bite of the Amario sweet plantain. Wow.
>> It's going to take us a while to finish this, Miguel. But it's totally worth it, man. This place was so great.
>> I mean, we just kind of >> found this spot.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> And we were just instantly drawn to it and then Wow.
>> I mean, if if if there's like something that I would have liked, I would say it.
>> Mhm. Oh, yeah.
>> I would say like I will be just transparent with you. But >> exactly.
>> I haven't like tried something that I didn't like.
>> Right. It's all like so amaz This. Have you tried the chio?
>> Yeah. Yeah, I've tried it. It's pretty good, man.
>> Perfectly salty, you know.
>> It's very good.
>> Salow. Okay.
So, she said this is what's it called?
the like the the juice from the sugar cane.
>> What did she call it?
I don't even remember, bro.
Well, we'll have to go back and check that.
>> I'm going to b-roll this shango.
>> Uhhuh. Yeah.
>> To see to show the people.
>> Take a picture of the chang. We're going to put him in like the most wanted list.
Food thief.
You know what though? They're they're actually beautiful. They have that split tail. I don't know if that gives them some kind of He just looks He's looking at our food.
>> Oh, wow. This is really good. But this is really strong. You're driving back.
>> Wow. This This is amazing. Honestly, this I mean I've been to a lot of great restaurants around the island. I mean, I've been to a few restaurants here.
I've been to El Teruno, which is next door. I've been to Laia, which is down at the end. I did like Laaria because you can order drinks from the walk up bar from over here in this grassy beach area. So, that aspect of it was nice, but this has to be the This is definitely the best meal that I've had here at the Kioskos. Yeah. And one of them islandwide.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Don't you think? I mean, >> to be to be honest with you, like I don't I don't go like to like a lot of restaurants, >> but like to have this experience.
>> Mhm.
>> Just changes my mind, man.
>> Like >> I didn't I didn't even know like this was like a thing, you know?
>> Yeah.
>> Like I was like so disconnected of the like restaurant vibe or like the faldo.
I don't know, man. I'm having a great time here. I don't know.
>> No, I'm having a great time, too, man.
This just makes me think we need to explore more places.
>> Yeah, bro.
>> See what's happening around the island.
>> So, tell me, Miguel, what's your uh what's a day what's a day in the life of a local Borqua young guy?
>> Obviously spend some time in the gym.
What's that look like for you?
I mean I mean I would think that I have like a not different but like some kind of like kind of different routine that I have daily but I mean I'm going to be very transparent with you like I don't have >> I don't have this like perfect routine because I'm not I'm not perfect at all.
>> Come on bro. Bro, in in a perfect day, I would just describe perfect day. The day that I'm that I don't work.
>> Mhm.
>> I just usually work uh sorry, I just I just get up in the morning just try so I try to get up because you know when you get up in the morning I'm like oh >> sometimes I'm just sore.
>> You're sore from the gym.
>> Sometimes I'm just sore because of training or something. Mhm.
>> It's not like an excuse, bud. I don't know.
>> No, >> but >> sore muscles means that you're working them and Yeah.
>> building muscle.
>> But, uh, early in the morning, I get up, I just make my my breakfast, you know, eggs, ham, cheese, and that's it. Um, I'll grab a coffee and then, um, I just I I like to read, but >> I love that.
>> If I read in the morning, I can read in the morning or in the night right before I'm going to go to sleep.
I try sometimes I don't sometimes I don't read but I don't have the time when I'm working but u I just I always like to read always try to meditate always try to be like right with myself I always like to meditate but >> not like meditating meditating like um like like this like >> but there's like so different types of meditation but I always like to be aligned with my body, my mind and my spirit. Those are my like three principles of life.
>> I love that.
>> So, you know, I always try to like work out to have a healthy body. Always try to meditate to have a healthy mind, healthy spirit. And I always like to read, you know, to like learn new things, have a new perspective on life, you know, like find something that can evolutionize. That's how you say evolutionize.
>> To what? to evolutionize >> uh >> to or maybe like elevate.
>> Yeah, elevate is good.
>> Elevate my consciousness.
But um yeah, I always try to like when I'm done meditating, I always like go to the gym to like have my mind right, just be very focused.
>> Always do some cardio, some weights, and then I'm gone. And then maybe I'll eat um later in the afternoon. I'll just do my my meal prep, like prep the sometimes I do it, sometimes I don't. That's okay with me. Like I think people like to um to always be on that perfect routine and that's not that's not realist, you know, that's not real.
>> Yeah.
>> You're not you're not going to always going to be perfect. Yeah. Always.
>> Sometimes you go out with your friends and you didn't like do something. Mhm.
>> That's okay, man. You're just >> You're probably missing some meditation or gym time for this.
>> I mean, I got I got to the gym this morning.
>> Mhm.
>> And then I shower and then we got here.
So, >> that's great.
>> Yeah.
>> And what do you think? Um what what does meditation look like for you?
>> I mean, uh my type of meditation is just like very introspective, you know, just to be right with myself. I think everything just goes inside of you. Like >> you're just the aware awareness exactly of what happens in your life, you know, >> right?
>> You just have to like be right with yourself, love yourself >> and don't don't react of what happens to your life because you're just the awareness, you know?
>> Exactly. Because life is just the experience and you just have to like be the awareness of it and just be on on a high frequency that you can just if something bad happens it's not it's nothing bad.
It's just trying to teach you something.
>> Exactly. A lesson to be learned.
>> Yeah. Lesson to be learned.
>> Things don't go your way.
>> Yeah. And it's a it's like a like a opportunity to grow >> as a person as a as a soul, you know.
>> Yeah.
>> Cuz we are not our bodies.
>> We're just a soul, you know? Right.
Energy.
>> We're just energy flowing and just if something bad happens to you, something good, something bad, just don't react to it. Just let it flow. You know, don't block your energy. That's what I was trying to do in my meditations. So, not try to like let everything flow. If something bad comes to my mind, I just let it flow, you know? Don't don't make it like your whole life, your whole day, you know. Don't try to like hold things, >> you know, just >> let it all flow.
>> Even if it's good or bad, >> just let it flow and continue to your life.
>> Continue with your life, you know?
>> I love that.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> But I got a question.
What What would you tell cuz I'm 23 right now, right? What would you tell your 23 year old self? Hm.
Well, you know, exactly what you were just saying, which is because I feel like when I was younger, I would overreact to things, you know, and I need to like calm down, think about things, understand that when things don't work out, there's a lesson to be learned there. I think that was super important.
>> But I also I feel like I'm a I'm a very passionate person. And so the older I get, I've learned to control that a little more, you know, as far as like not overreacting about things because when you, you know, take action with extreme passion, then it's possible that, you know, something negative is going to come out of that because you're, you know, when we overreact, >> it's like creating this uh >> negativity, you know, it's expanding around us. It's just like when you seek positivity then and you you know have positivity then everything around you is going to be positive and the same works with negativity too.
>> Yeah. Absolutely.
>> Yeah. It's like when we have these thoughts these thoughts just attracts everything that they that they are. If you have if you always it's not going to be always, but if you always have these positive thoughts, these positive actions, >> it's always going to attract something positive no matter what. You know, >> I love that.
>> And it's going to it's going to lead you to a very happy life, >> but also better than that. A happy life is just a life of peace, you know, a life of like serenity, >> which is what we're seeking. We're trying to live a life of peace.
>> Yeah, absolutely.
>> And I think that's what makes this island so special because we were talking about that and I think the people here, they understand that more than most places that it's about, you know, inner peace, being happy and just enjoying >> every little moment around you.
>> It's not about the rat race and like trying to build and grow and make things better and you know, >> whatever.
>> Yeah. I think this I think this island >> I think this island is very very blessed >> because everything that you have here >> just makes you have a positive life, you know.
>> Mhm.
>> Like the good weather, the good places, the good people.
>> Yeah.
>> Like there always going to be things that are going to be like negative.
That's anywhere like >> Right.
>> Anywhere in the world is going to be something negative. But there's so much positive things here that it's doesn't allow you to see the negative, you know?
>> It's like so so positive place.
>> Yeah.
>> That you can't It's >> If you're like a like a negative person, you're going to see the negative side.
>> Exactly. You know what I'm saying?
Expect to see the negative. You're going to find the negative.
>> You're going to find everything negative.
>> Expecting to see the be the beauty of the people and the land and the positivity. You're going to find that, too.
>> Yeah. Absolutely. I I always think about that.
You know, I always think whatever you're attracting is gonna find you.
>> No matter what. No matter what. If you're a good person, good persons are going to come to you.
>> You know, if you're good with money, money is going going to come to you.
>> Yeah.
>> You know what I'm saying?
>> Yeah. But you can't chase it either.
Absolutely. You have to attract it.
>> You just by being your true self.
>> Exactly. and have a positive state of mind >> from a place of peace and positivity.
>> Not chasing.
>> Yeah.
>> Just like just like being >> Wow.
>> And everything will come to you. Like >> Exactly.
>> Even if if now or five years from now, it's going to come, you know.
>> Exactly.
>> Patience.
>> Yeah. You just got to be just be your true self. Be present in the moment and try to be as as positive as you can.
>> Wow.
>> No matter what that >> Yeah, man. Well, as I mentioned, you're my spiritual advisor. This is some wisdom.
>> So, the wise master, >> the wise guys.
>> Yeah.
>> No, I love that though. And it's so true. It's just um you know, there's only one real way to live your life and that's in a a path of peace and positivity. Like the rest of it doesn't even matter.
>> Yeah. And a very key element of that is just the simplicity >> of this life.
>> Cuz we always try to have more and chase more.
>> Wow.
>> When we have so much things that are valuable, you know, it's like having a family, having someone that cares about you no matter who you are, you know, >> like like your your mom or your father loves you the way you are, >> you know? They're they're not trying to like get something out of you or use you for something. and they just love you, you know, like unconditional love like these people that trust you or respect you or or like are loyal to you like those things you you cannot buy those things, you know?
>> Exactly. And those things are like so valuable as for you as a person that it just makes you like how do you say that that that just like elevates you like to a certain level that you don't need these material things.
>> You don't need of course you need money.
It's a necessity. Like we we live in a capitalist country, island, whatever you want to call it. But like what we're saying later, but later what we're saying before, >> earlier. Yeah.
>> Yeah. What we're saying earlier is that just by being a positive person, everything will will come to you, you know.
>> Yeah.
>> Any any Oh, [ __ ] >> Nice. Sick.
Bro, look at the the wind is blowing like crazy, bro.
>> It is a little windy today, but >> yeah, >> it's actually it's a nice breeze. It's a warm day here in in May.
>> But no, please.
>> You were saying I'll hold on to the box here.
Um >> I think you know one thing that I I love is this concept of I don't chase I attract what is meant >> I don't chase I attract what is meant for me will find me leaving fear behind and just accepting that everything that is presented to you is meant to be And we we have talked about this like this fear >> that everyone has fear >> and fear is just like blocking. It's like this blocking yourself from the positive things that's going to come to your life, you know.
>> Exactly. Like there's sometimes that I'm scared to do something or like to say something and that fear is just saying to you like hey this is like important to you or this has some value to you if you do it it's going to reward you you know >> it's going to have like a reward of you like having the courage of fighting that fear which you can operate from the fear or from the love you know. Exactly.
>> Like what what has more value to you?
Because if you have a perspective of fear, you're going to find everything that's going to have fear in you. But if you act about love, you act in love, everything will see so positive that the fear is not going to exist. You know, >> you know what I'm trying like >> 100%. Yeah, that is amazing. So, for example, if if you like, for example, your YouTube channel, if you're trying or you want to do something, you want to make a video, but you have fear, >> you're going to say like, I don't want I don't want to do that, you know?
>> Yeah, >> I'm I'm scared. And it's okay to be scared. Everybody scares or something.
>> But >> I think fear is >> natural to react to it because you don't want to panic. Yeah.
>> If you panic, then that's when fear becomes problematic.
>> Fear just becomes your state of mind.
>> Exactly.
>> And when fear becomes your state of mind, everything just negative.
>> You want to do something, ah, I'm not going to do it because if this happens, >> I'm going to be screwed.
>> If this happens, it's going to be so bad. But if you act in love, you see everything positive. You see, oh, if I do something, I can get this. If I do this, I'm gonna get this >> or if I do this, no matter what happens, I'm gonna learn. I'm gonna grow.
>> I'm gonna have something positive about it, you know?
>> So true, man.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. And I I always I always tell people like find your truth >> and have a positive life, you know. And it's it's so hard to have a positive life, you know, because a lot of so much people like are surrounded by negativity and and that energy just like gets to you.
>> Like if you if you have someone negative around you, that energy is going to come to you. Like you're going to start think about like negative things too, right?
>> And that is real. Like people think that's not real, but it's very real.
That's what I say that being positive and always looking some uh the the always looking life in love is so much difficult that see it in fear you know cuz that fear is like so so much how do you how do you say that word um like fear is is this um state of mind that just like takes everything from you cuz it's so easy to see like the negative side. It's like, "Oh, this happens. I don't want to do this because if this happens, I'm screwed." You know, >> right?
>> Or if if I'm I'm going to do this, even if I fail, I tried. And I was scared to try it, but I tried it. You know what has more value to you? You know, you know, just live a simple life, man.
You know, >> that's the key, man. That's the key to life. Live a simple life.
>> Yeah, bro. Hey, tell us one thing that you love about the island more than anything else.
>> Oh, I love everything about the island.
The island has many, many amazing things that you know, you can never um miss.
The sunset in Caw Rojo, the beautiful beaches that we have all around the island on the mountains and the rivers and so you always feel um warm and safe in here.
>> I love that. Wow. Well said.
>> Such a good video.
>> Thank you. You guys have everything.
>> We have everything, you know, like we have what you need. We have fish, we have, you know, we have everything mango.
Yeah. We don't need >> And now like young people are you know going back to that roots and >> you know food is expensive man.
>> Exactly. And because it all has to come here on a boat from the United States, >> the beauty of it, you know, just to come back to your roots of the island and what what the land gives you.
>> I love that. So that's really nice.
>> I think that's the way that the island is heading honestly. And you know that there's a lot of people that moved away for a better life and then realized that it's not better and they're coming back.
They're coming back of course and there's nothing like you know like there's nothing. I've tried three times and the three times I've left it the same amount of time like eight months and I'm like >> going back to my little island.
>> Yes, >> the beach is my patio. So >> yeah, >> it's beauty. That's why we are called Puerto Rico. It's a it's a very rich port. We have beaches, we have Rio, we have minerals, food, >> everything.
>> Yes.
