[00:00:00]Why are we talking about reality TV on a platform like Womennow through our podcast? Like given that we're a feminist media company. There are so many harmful narratives about femininity, about men and women and society and the roles that we play that are being perpetuated or that are being highlighted in these shows that need to be talked about. Whatever narratives are being popularized through especially serialized reality television is such an interesting reflection of modern values that people want to perpetuate. And so to me it's like a commentary on what are the important messages that we're trying to teach people and specifically younger people who are consuming this content not necessarily aware of the lens that they might need to filter out what's being said. A lot of people have an issue with reality TV because if you watch it, it's called a guilty pleasure.

[00:00:52]And if you don't watch it, then you can like say it's like stupid. A lot of people assume that people that watch reality TV are a certain kind of like mindset and that's just a stigma. You can watch everything and enjoy both or all of them equally without necessarily labeling it as your guilty pleasure.
