The video effectively uses the prestige of neuroscience to give basic self-help advice a veneer of scientific authority. While the concept of neuroplasticity is sound, the presentation borders on a reductive "mind-over-matter" narrative that oversimplifies the complexity of cognitive change.

Teacher Explains: The Neuroscience Behind Changing Your Brain and Your ThinkingAdded:
Be careful what you think. Be intentional with what you think. Because there's something called neuroplasticity where your brain is constantly rewiring and forming new connections and changing. You can literally change how you think. You can evolve and grow. You can get smarter. You can form new connections. And you can train your brain to be the type of brain that you want it to be.
Have you ever been like, I just think this way or I just always get anxious or I always feel this way or I always have these negative thoughts or this is just this triggers me to think this.
It's actually because your brain is neuroplastic and there's neuroplasticity and you have wired certain neurons to respond that way. And so you can literally change how you think. And I want to share how you can do that because I know that at a certain point in my life, in certain times of my life, I thought so many things that did not help me at all. I was ruining myself because of the things I was choosing to think. And I was thinking about what I didn't want and analyzing it. I love to analyze and understand and stuff. I was thinking so much of what I didn't want.
And it was making what I didn't want in my life. It was making more of what I didn't want because I was wiring it. I was sending all these emotions to it and like forming these different synapses.
It was crazy. And so it's like once I realized that I was like, "Oh my gosh, your thoughts can either create a life that you love or it can literally create a miserable existence." I was even just um watching someone. I was at a fast food restaurant. I was waiting in line for the bathroom and I heard these girls talking. They were just sitting there spending their time together, hanging out, literally just talking about this one guy. the whole time like I can't believe he works for this company and that he does this and that he posts about it and talks about it and they were just going on and on talking about him. I'm like what are you guys doing?
You're literally spending your time in your life talking negatively about some dude and like thinking badly about him.
But that's what they're wiring what that's what they're putting in. It doesn't mean no anyone's perfect and that you can't ever talk about anybody or anything that's not your goals. But what you talk about, what you think about, that's what's going to get wired in. They could be thinking about how to build a business. They could be thinking about how to change their life, how to get fitter and healthier, how to have a stronger relationship, how to solve world [snorts] peace or do something greater or bigger with their time and their life and their attention. And instead, they're not. And so, you're the same. We're the same. I'm the same. I spent a lot of time focusing on stupid, stupid things. But then I started focusing on what I actually wanted to.
And here's how you can. So, as a reminder, and just to put it out there, neuroplasticity is specifically the brain's lifelong ability to reorganize its structure, its functions, and neural connections in response to the experiences you have to learning or to injury. And so, it can literally restructure itself. It can rewire based on what you're putting in. Like when you go experience or travel to a new country or you go see something different or talk to a new person or talk to new people or whatever it is or something traumatic happens, you know, that is going to rewire your brain. And so if you know that, you can set yourself up and put yourself in situations and with people and experiences to get you the thoughts and the new neurons and the new neural pathways that you actually want.
So the first thing that you can always do is simply notice your thoughts, what you're thinking. And it's actually metacognition, which is thinking about thinking. Like I'm thinking, how do I think? And why do I think the way that I think? And I can do a whole video on that. But it's noticing your thoughts and choosing to replace them with thoughts that you want wired into your brain and to stop repeating the other ones. And with this, the more emotion you put to something, you're going to remember that more. Like that's why you might remember something scary or something horrible that happens because we're designed to survive and reproduce.
You're there to be protected. Your brain's trying to protect you. And so if you put an intense emotion with it, you're more likely to remember it. And the more you repeat it, the more it's going to be stuck there. So just notice and start to replace with what you want.
The second thing you can do is decide to learn something new. And so it's doing something new like with a new thought.
Hey, I'm going to start thinking this thing, but maybe you learn a new instrument. Maybe like I started creating YouTube videos and I had this new thing to dive into and started researching and watching other YouTube videos and buying courses and listening to experts and buying books, creating the studio, creating the things, trying things out, talking just randomly and trying to figure out how to create it.
That is going to make your brain more neuroplastic. It's going to change the structure of your brain and the neurons that are firing and what is wired. And that's why because of these new experiences, because of the new things that I'm doing, I'm experiencing life in a different and a new way because I challenged it because I learned something new and I put something different into it. It's like the classic saying, don't keep doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. You might have to change in order to get the result that you want.
The third thing that you can do that's easy, like I have some videos on how to increase your intelligence, how to be smarter, foods that you can eat to increase your intelligence. So check that those out if you're interested. But if you exercise and the more often you exercise, it is literally strengthening your brain and creating new neurons and it's helping you focus. It's helping you be smarter and it's helping you process the world in a different and in a better way. And so if you're not exercising daily, you're literally leaving brain power off the table. Like you're literally leaving it off the table. And it's one of the best things you can do for your overall health and general well-being physically, but also emotionally, mentally. You're more focused. You remember things easier.
You're more confident. You're less stressed. You're happier. It is one of the best things you can do. And so [snorts] if you want to have a brain that helps you, like that's what it is.
heal your heart, work on your brain, take some actions, and you'll get a better life. You'll get a better life.
And it's like, how are you choosing to think of things? How are you choosing to be? How are you choosing to experience the world and in this life? It's it's not random. It's not random. It's only random because you're just going through the motions and you're not being intentional. It is important to be intentional and to know that you have power, that you can change your brain, you can change your thinking. You just have to decide to and learn how to. The last thing you can do is bring awareness. I talk about this in so many different ways, but it's just being aware. Being aware that you are the one who's helping yourself or hurting yourself. You're the one creating these thoughts. You're the one focusing on these things and literally wing wiring your brain to think like that, to feel like that, to experience that. You're the one choosing these habits, choosing this lifestyle, choosing to believe in what's possible or what's not. It's you.
It's you. And so many people are not aware. So many people aren't mindful and paying attention. So many people are drowning themselves out with alcohol, with sugar, with addictions, with things that don't help them, trying to soo themselves and make themselves feel better when really that's the thing that's not going to help them. They need to get clear, get all the vices away, and just actually observe, actually be mindful, actually experience. And I think that's a huge thing. I'm so clear, and I've been vegan for like seven, eight, I don't know, seven, eight years now. um eat a lot of whole foods, eating lots of fruit, smoothies. I'm just so much clearer. Turmeric, ginger, some of these things have helped me. I'm going to do videos on that. But it's crazy.
And the more introspective I've gotten and self-aware and trying to analyze and understand why I think what I think, why I feel what I feel, what I actually would like, why is this bothering me?
Okay, how can I make a change? Why do I feel weak? Oh, maybe I need to go lift weights, blah blah blah blah blah.
There's always a solution if you're willing to make a change. But if you're even aware, people don't know what's not hurting them. They're not willing to face it. And they just there's so much going on in life and so much stress, so much activity, so much stuff that you just don't make the time or you just go, "This is how I'm going to put a band-aid on it." But I never wanted to put a band-aid on it. I never wanted to put a band-aid on my life. I wanted to actually heal it and make a change and make it better.
You can too. I know you can. I hope this video helped. Feel free to follow for more to become who you want to be and to create a life you love. I know you can and I know you will. Let's do it together.
