Music Composer Reacts - Eisodus (Wuthering Waves)

[00:00:00]It's time to react to more music from Wavering Waves. I'm Corey or Everything Fantasy. I'm a music composer. I have my keyboard in front of me.

[00:00:08]And today we're going to be reacting to Isodes from Wavering Waves.

[00:00:13]I'm really curious of what this is going to sound like. So, I feel like I've had an up and down relationship with how intense emotionally I'm supposed to feel with a lot of Wavering Waves pieces of music. Am I going to feel intense? Is it going to feel saddening? I can't tell.

[00:00:26]But let's get straight into this.

[00:00:37]So, um in terms of key, we're in the key of G minor.

[00:00:59]I thought I probably made it more emotive than it actually is, but let's keep listening. I'm not going to make too many assumptions about it yet. But the feeling I get so far is beginning of a long journey, that kind of thing is what I feel at the moment.

[00:01:28]>> [music] >> Okay, so first of all, I find it really interesting. Um and I might not recall exactly what I heard, but the chord sequence took a really interesting turn on the word mystery. So, I think something like that. I want to hear it again.

[00:01:59]Yeah, it was that, which is not what I would expect cuz it's outside of the key of G minor.

[00:02:08]It's just interesting play on the word mystery at that point in the one context.

[00:02:13]>> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [singing] [music] [music] [music] >> Ooh, that was cool. Um first of all, the vocalist is incredible, insane. It makes it sound so soaring. Like I feel like I'm elevated or enlightened listening to this in terms of the melody.

[00:03:28]>> [music] >> And this is the interesting part. It goes to And the second time around it goes >> Behold me, I transform sound into rain to purify the human world.

[00:04:02]To purify the human world. I Okay, okay, I take it back. The beginning of a journey sort of thing. I almost get the feeling of like is someone ending the world here? Like transforming it into their own image sort of thing.

[00:04:16]>> [music] >> Okay, okay, that's really cool. I need to try and mimic something like that.

[00:04:31]I think it's a guzheng, um, a Chinese instrument that's playing here.

[00:04:35]And it's also doing some tremolos as well, which were like that kind of sound.

[00:04:44]>> [music and singing] [music] [music] [music] [singing] >> I also This is a very subtle detail, but I really like the fact that we're using a soft piano. It's not a piano that sounds like this, but instead this.

[00:05:23]>> [music] [music] [music and singing] [music] [music] [music and singing] [music] [music] >> Bridge?

[00:06:26]Kind of a bridge, yeah.

[00:06:36]>> [music] >> I like I like I like that solo a lot, actually. Um the >> [music] [music] [singing] [music] [music] [singing] [music] [music] >> Oh, I like that chord.

[00:07:50]>> Oh, that's I like that.

[00:08:03]That just feels so warm and so hollow-sounding.

[00:08:06]There's a sense of like I so I get a sense of like all things coming to an end sort of thing and sort of like I mentioned this in a previous wavering wave piece and maybe there's a similarity, but this idea of starting something completely brand new, completely afresh kind of thing.

[00:08:20]Destroying one thing to create something brand new is again the feeling I get from this as well. Um I need to check if the person who submitted this said anything about it. They didn't.
