Sepsis develops when the body's immune system overreacts to an infection, causing it to poison the body and shut down vital organs; early recognition of symptoms and proper medical testing are critical for survival, as delayed diagnosis can lead to severe complications like coma and limb loss.

Why do we Develop Sepsis?Añadido:
Why do we develop sepsis?
So, I've been asked this before and it's a good question.
We develop sepsis because we have an infection and that infection, unfortunately, is something to do with our immune system going into overdrive to fight the infection that causes sepsis to develop instead.
Your immune system has gone a little bit crazy, it's gone into overdrive and it literally starts poisoning your body, shutting down all your vital organs, and trying to kill you.
So, you need to learn the symptoms of sepsis. I will attach something at the end of this video. Please screenshot it and keep it safe on your phone. If ever you need to go to hospital with these symptoms, show them. Say to them, "I've got a screenshot of, you know, what the symptoms are and I've got all these symptoms. I believe I've got sepsis.
I've got, you know, if you know what infection you've got."
Mine was a a urinary tract infection and I told them um at the doctors on a screenshot that I had a urine infection, but no other tests were done other than dipping my urine.
Had they have taken my blood pressure or my temperature, they may well have known that I was septic then, but they didn't. And I went to the hospital the following morning at 4:00 in the morning and was almost immediately put into a coma.
Had the hospital the day before that had done other tests, I may not have lost my limbs.
Had that doctor have done other tests, I may not have lost my limbs.
I may have had to stayed in hospital for a week or two. I may well have had to have IV antibiotics and then um oral antibiotics for a while, but I certainly don't think I would have been as ill as what I was.
So, partly the language barrier because I was in Spain, partly I don't think they knew what they were doing and I don't blame Spain because it's happening all around the world. All around the world, even in the UK where I live, where I come from, it's happening still.
In hospitals, doctor surgeries are missing it, hospitals are missing it. We need to advocate for ourselves, learn the symptoms, tell them you believe you have sepsis, insist on being tested. If you have to, ask for a second opinion.
You are entitled to a second opinion, everybody is, so ask.
Take care. Thanks for listening and don't forget to follow me for more updates and I'd really appreciate it.
Thank you.
