This analysis exposes a profound delusion in British self-perception by contrasting it with the sobering reality of the UK's economic lag behind every US state. It serves as a blunt wake-up call for a nation whose standard of living is being quietly outpaced by the American model.

UK Residents SHOCKED AND UPSET After Learning How Much Poorer They Are Than Americans!Added:
The fact is, we are not.
Far from it.
An illustration of this is the recent study by the Institute of Economic Affairs.
They found that when voters were asked to guess where the UK would rank in terms of GDP per capita if it were a US state, gave on average a response of seven.
The actual answer is 51st. We are poorer than every single US state.
And this is a problem.
Because if voters don't grasp how far behind we are falling and its consequences for their standards of living and security, then they will be less likely to accept some of the difficult decisions we have to take to fix our economy. If the UK was a US state, the UK would be the 51st poorest state in America.
Let that sink in. The UK has a lower GDP per capita than the state of Mississippi.
Now, no disrespect to Mississippi, but the way it's portrayed in the media is ridiculous. And the UK is poorer than that?
The level of managed decline with regards to the UK is actually quite sad when you think about it. How have we fallen so far from grace?
And the Brits will get defensive and say, "Yeah, we have free healthcare.
Uh the government isn't crazy.
Our president {slash} prime minister isn't like XYZ." But poorer than Mississippi?
Huh?
Only saving grace is, yes, GDP per capita is not the best metric. And if you adjust to purchasing power parity, you probably aren't the poorest state, but still.
Boy, oh, boy, oh, boy, oh, boy, oh, boy.
So, we got to talk about some unfortunate bad news for our UK counterparts. A country that is currently in major, major, major decline. Whether you look at demographics, culture, uh the economy.
Um it's just not looking good for the Brits, right? It's not looking good for the UK. I wish them the best, but you know, with their current leadership, with the socialism, um I'm not sure if uh the UK is going to recover to its former glory anytime soon, okay? And um this video right here is a great example of what I'm talking about because Brits are stunned to learn that they are much poorer than Americans. In fact, if the UK was a state in the United States of America, it would be the poorest state in the union.
Yes, you heard [laughter] that. The UK, if it was a state, would be the poorest state in our country.
That is how down bad the UK is, right?
That is how backwards they've gone. Now, I'm not surprised by this because I've been making a point on this channel uh in response to these socialists who want us to be more like uh the Europeans, uh that you're not going to make the United States more affordable by making us like Europe. In fact, there is no major uh country in Europe, when adjusted for income, right? Uh that is more affordable than the United States of America. I know that it's really hard to believe, but I'm telling you, socialism uh does not result in everybody becoming richer or having a higher standard of living uh because you {quote} tax the rich and you redistribute wealth. No, no, no, everybody just becomes poor. And that is what has happened to the UK. But hey, hey, at least they got free >> [laughter] >> health care that they pay heavily for uh via taxation. So, without further ado, let's go ahead and get into this. So, according to the Institute of Economic Affairs, Britain is now poorer than all 50 American states. We've been overtaken. This is by GDP per capita.
We've been overtaken by Mississippi, which is the poorest American state.
Um but what's really interesting is they did a poll of 3,000 British voters, asking them where they thought the UK was in terms of wealth and British people thought that on average they would be the seventh wealthiest state if it was an American state. So, the question is why do British people think they're much wealthier than they actually are? If Britain was an American state, how wealthy do you think it would be? How many American states do you think are wealthier than us in terms of GDP per capita?
You're looking at me.
>> [laughter] >> You're asking the wrong person.
Let's say 30. Just ball park guess. I have genuinely no idea.
>> [snorts] >> Yeah, it's a difficult one. I think depend depending on the area as well. If we're talking like different areas of the UK.
>> is the the UK as a whole. This is all the each only to American state as well.
>> Okay. So, in in comparison, what would is that the question? What state? Um So, what what state would be be most like?
How many states are poorer than us? How many states are richer than us? I have no idea.
>> Yeah, this is not a UK question.
Talking to her.
>> IS THERE A RIGHT ANSWER?
That's all right. I'll I'll give you the answer.
>> [laughter] >> So, how many are richer than the UK?
>> Yeah, so it's it's 50 states. If we were a state, how rich would we be? I reckon we are in the lower 25%. I'm saying like a quarter. That's definitely true.
>> Is it? Extremely true. I I actually So, we would actually be the 51st state, the poorest state. Every single American state We've been overtaken by Mississippi, which was the poorest American state.
And there was a survey done for 3,000 British voters were polled and most British voters thought we'd be about seventh.
Which is Yeah, seventh out of 50.
Whereas we're actually 51st. Oh my god.
Um so, why do why do you think we're so much poorer than the Americans? Cuz everything here is so expensive. So, the housing market for example, the the houses you could get in the US versus the house in the UK, you're talking like triple the size. So, it's all everyone's money spent on rent, mortgages. It's just so much more expensive here. I also think that the job market that the amount that people get paid for the same jobs in America significantly more.
Um so, it's just not giving people fair opportunities. Wow. Wow, I thought socialism made things more affordable.
Right? I thought more government made things cheaper. I've been told by Zoran, uh, Katie Wilson, uh, socialists, I've been told by all of these people that socialism is going to make people's lives more affordable. Right? But, what I'm hearing, right, from my UK counterparts, is that that that's not necessarily true.
That, hey, we're getting less bang for our bucks when it comes to housing.
Socialism is not making housing affordable.
They get a lot less for what they're paid, okay, than we do.
Also, on top of that, she's saying their take home, in terms of what they get paid, a lot of it is heavily taxed, because you know that health care ain't free.
Right?
So, you know, I mean, people got to understand there's trade-offs.
There's trade-offs to socialism, and, you know, these socialists are not honest with people about socialism. Socialism requires heavy taxation of the middle class. If you want heavy taxation of the middle class, cool. Socialism might work out for you. You might you might love socialism. But, I don't want heavy taxation of the middle class. I want freedom, right? I I don't want to send the government my money for them to damn blow on waste, fraud, and abuse.
Right? I don't want to do I don't want them to take my money and to give it to people who don't want to work, right?
[laughter] Who don't want to do anything. Now, I'm totally fine with having social safety nets for individuals who are down on their luck, who are legitimately trying, you know, who are trying to get back on their feet, they need a little windfall. I'm totally fine with that. I think most reasonable people agree with that. But, that's not what socialists are asking for, right? They're they're asking for cradle-to-grave government handouts and wealth redistribution, which results in everybody getting poor, right?
Everybody's standard of living declining.
And that's what they don't want to admit. They don't want to acknowledge that, "Hey, this stuff is is very expensive. These people are heavily taxed, right? Heavily taxed. And this is why they're poor than every state in the union. This is where This is where California's headed. This is where New York is headed. This is where all the quote-unquote rich states are headed, okay?" Because of the amount of money that and tax people to most of people's wages to go to tax as well. So, their actual take home is very, very limited.
>> if So, if Britain was to join the United States as the 51st state, how many states do you think would be richer than us per person and how many would be poorer than us?
I would say there'd probably be 20 states richer. Yeah. And then 32 poorer.
And And just to clarify, so um your perspective, you're from Northern Ireland originally, which is obviously part of the UK, but you now live in Texas. So, you you've got both perspectives.
>> sure. There's a lot of rich people in the US, but only in certain states, like New York, Texas, California. But then you go to like Oklahoma and stuff and they're just not that rich there. So, I'm possibly going to surprise you um because according to the new study, every single American state is now higher is now wealthier per person than the UK, including Mississippi, which was the poor which still is the poorest state per capita, has now overtaken the UK. Wow, that's crazy. I had no idea.
So, this kind of leads us onto the next question. Why do you think British people think we're richer than we are?
Mhm.
I would say there's a lot more middle class in Britain. Yeah. So, um you know, if you drive around small towns in America, it looks like there's a lot of poorer people. Um but there's also a lot of rich people in the US, so um it just varies. I think the general middle class in the UK just feels like they're richer. Yeah.
And what's very interesting is I mean, you said was it 25th or something? Mhm.
Um you did a lot better than the the British public as a whole. So, the the British public, 3,000 people um were surveyed and the average was seventh.
They thought we'd be the seventh richest state, when we'd be the 51st.
>> Yeah. Wow. So, clearly there's a big disconnect between how rich British people think they are and how rich we actually are.
>> For sure. Yeah, that's huge.
Crazy. It is huge. There's And this, you know, it's funny because this guy is trying to talk about small town Americans as if, you know, all small town Americans are all poor. Again, that's not necessarily true because small town Americans, you can say what you want, but they actually own stuff, right?
In the UK, they don't own anything, right? You can be a small town American, you actually own your home, right? Your home might not be super extravagant, or it could be very nice, right? A lot of people in small towns, they can even build their own houses. They know how to build their own stuff. But you got ownership, right? You own a car.
Okay, you don't have to, you know, rely on anybody else or public transportation to get around. You actually have ownership. In the UK, they don't have ownership, right? They they can't afford the how homes in London, right? They don't have cars. Living in a big city, not owning anything, that doesn't it That doesn't make you rich, right?
I'd rather live in a small town and own a car, own my house, own land, right?
I'd rather live in a small town and own everything that I got than to live in a big city and don't own a damn thing. And be and relying on the government.
Just saying.
Recent survey has found that Britain is now poorer than all 50 American states.
We've just been overtaken by Mississippi. Yeah. Does that surprise you?
Uh yeah.
Why?
Well, we get we get run down a lot.
Yeah. I don't think I don't think Britain's as bad as people say. Yeah.
But there was there was also a poll and British people think that if Britain was an American state, we'd be the seventh richest state. So, the actual answer is 51. We'd be the poorest American state.
But it depends who you ask, isn't it?
Yeah.
Ask the rest of the people, they might get a different answer. Do Do you think that cuz obviously like quality of life stuff, like we have uh like free health care and stuff. Do you think that kind of makes up for the not being so rich GDP per capita? It depends what you deem as being rich though, doesn't it? You're talking monetary, lifestyle, quality of life. Wouldn't go to America if you paid me.
Really? I've got no interest in going to America. Do you think Okay, so a lot of the American I certainly wouldn't go now. If Britain was an American state, if we were the He's woke as hell. He's part of the reason for the decline, right? Part of the reason. He clearly didn't like hearing those facts.
>> [laughter] >> He didn't like to hear that at all. 51st state, how many states do you think would be richer than us and how many states do you think would be poorer than us?
Oh, that's a very good question. I like that one.
>> I don't know what a state is. Can you give me an example?
So like California, Texas, Florida.
>> There's 50 states in the American Union.
If Britain was to become the 51st state, how many states would we be richer than and how many would we be poorer than?
Oh, that's fun. Do you know on I reckon we'd be in the top 10. I reckon we'd be in the top 10, yeah, cuz I feel like London's got a lot of business going on.
It's got a very flourishing capital, do you know what I mean? It's like a If you look where we are now, lots of tourists.
Yeah. But yeah, I'd say about What about you, Jude? Um cuz I like the number two, I'm going to say top 22. Top 22.
>> [laughter] >> That's nice and even. Yeah, that's what I thought. I've got some bad news. We'd be the 51st, the poorest, the poor If we If every single American state, including Mississippi and Alabama, which are poorer states, are now richer than Britain on a per capita basis. So they've got per per person. No way, that doesn't make sense.
>> but but what's interesting is that there was a big survey done and most British people think that we'd be number seven.
So 3,000 British people were asked and the average number was we'd be number seven, which is pretty much what you Yeah, I said 10. Um and so it's actually you're actually more accurate than the average British person. But but So why do you think we're so much poorer than Americans? And why don't we realize it?
Uh I think um it'll be because like right now probably like London's not like um it's not like looking after itself and we're not looking after each other. It's a Just go ahead and go ahead >> [laughter] >> Call it like it is, right? It's a That's why.
That's why your your country is again, you become socialist.
Uh you have weak male leadership. Your country's being overrun by migrants from the third world, right from the south, who who are not helping the GDP, by the way, right? And and your economy is is in decline, right? You're in contraction. You're not really growing.
Yeah, it's a terrible situation. It's absolutely terrible situation, and I feel I feel for uh the Brits who actually, you know, do not agree with this stuff, right? [laughter] I really do, and I'm actually rooting for the UK. I think when it comes to the totem pole, right, of global superpowers, I think it should be the US and then the UK, right, and then everybody else. And I think that we should be tight. So, I'm saying this from a place of wanting the UK to do better, right, to be better. Okay? I I don't want to see the decline of the UK.
I I I think the world's a better place when when the UK is a top dog. But, you know, right now again, it's just it it's it's very sad what is happening uh to what used to be a great country, a great empire, right? You don't have a navy, you don't have a military. Um it it's sad, it really is. You turn into a laughingstock. See, back in the day, you used to be hated. People hated you, right? But, you were respected, right?
>> [laughter] >> Fast forward to today, people still don't like you, and they don't respect you, either. It's it's it's [clears throat] bad, it really is. This is why you shouldn't care about being liked. You should just care about being respected. Who cares? Doesn't matter people like you. What really matters is respect, to be honest with you. That's it. That's all that that matters.
I feel like there's a lot of a community or like there's not much of a community here. I feel like everyone's very like segregated in in a certain regards.
Like, they're segregated within their communities, and I feel like um we don't look to help each other out. It's everyone's each for their own, which overall even though each to your own you think would benefit you, I feel like overall negatively impacts everyone. Do you think America has better communities than we do, stronger communities?
>> like yeah, definitely in certain states.
Like, even if you don't like those communities, I feel like there's definitely some mad communities out there. Like, do you know what I mean?
But, I feel like like, if you go to each state, there's a very tight-knit like, if you go to Alabama, you know what type of person you're expected to meet. If you're going to Texas, you kind of know you know what I mean? You know what a Texas person's going to be like. You feel me? Yeah. Do you agree with this? Um wasn't it cuz we were still in lockdown as well? But, in American cities as well. Oh.
>> [laughter] >> I thought I wish I wish we could use that excuse.
>> Yeah.
I don't know. I think there's a lot of bums here as well. I can't lie. There's a lot of people that don't really work a lot.
>> Cuz America's They got it everywhere, to be honest with you. We got too much of that here, too, in the United States. Well said.
>> Yeah, I feel like a lot of people in America like, I don't know. Even though they've got a terrible, well, in my opinion, terrible Prime Minister or President, whatever it's called. Yeah, that thing.
I think we have a lot of lazy people in the UK. Whereas, America, I feel like everyone's like, really bright, really happy. I want to work like Yeah. Um again, you know, this is what socialists and our country, the Democrat Party, this is what they're trying to turn us into.
This is what they're trying to turn us into, okay? I want you guys to understand that they're they're trying to sell us that, right? This is what they're trying to sell us. And um this is why, you know, I continue to make these videos, I continue to talk about this stuff, cuz I'm telling you, these people there's a reason why these socialists, who are trying to sell us on becoming like Europe, why there's a reason why they don't want to move to Europe, right?
There's a reason why they're still here and they're not there, okay? Because here is better and it's better because of the capitalism. And the the problem, one of the problems with decline it in the UK and in Europe as a whole, again, has to do with the economic system and has to do with migration, right? Those are the probably top two issues um plaguing >> [snorts] >> um our uh European counterparts. And I think that uh you know, what is happening with the UK is a a great example. Um they don't even add anything to us. We wouldn't gain much by adding [laughter] them to the union, right? We wouldn't gain anything. It is kind of wild to think about, but hey, let me know what you guys think. Make sure you like, comment, and subscribe. Most importantly, share a black conservative perspective. Peace.
