Calling London a "cultural gateway" is just a sophisticated way to rebrand colonial dependency as a modern strategic necessity. It intellectualizes the "Western filter" while ignoring that true global success shouldn't require a former colonizer's stamp of approval.

291. "Stone Cold Discipline" Ft. Stonebwoy | The Pull Up PodcastAdded:
Yeah.
Baby, baby.
My sister feel it. Feel it. Feel it. Feel it.
Feel it.
>> Yeah, man.
>> Yeah, man.
>> This is episode 291 >> of the pullup pod.
>> Biggest greatness in the building.
>> Big stone boy. Stone boy. Let me cross my legs too.
>> Following the movement still live show just done. We have to treat you to live proper man for real.
>> What's going on still?
>> How you feeling then bro? Love >> a man of few words.
>> Would you come London often?
>> Yeah.
>> Do you f with it like do you like London?
>> Yeah, I I do. It's um I've always seen London as like a stepper as a Ghanaian from an artist perspective.
>> You know, when you're growing up or you're blowing up from Ghana, >> one of the very first places that you have to step to know that your thing is about to go global or it's getting international attention >> is London.
>> That's how I feel.
>> Why do you think London is that place?
because I think it's a multi-ethnic or multicultural standpoint >> as history would have it you know and also the British would have colonized the majority of the world's people and then West Africa >> Ghana Nigeria etc. So right from uh leadership and governance you have had white people be our prime ministers and governors. So they were reporting >> straight and direct to and fro from here in London >> you know or maybe the UK. So it has also gained us that route >> culturally >> and you know and everything makes sense.
Oh, that's how I believe is be became the genesis of all of that.
>> You know, >> the genesis is cold.
>> Yeah. But I feel like that's the case for Bear. Like I can see how you can say that because I feel like Bear, >> let's say, let's like an African artist is about to blow. Yeah.
>> When they start popping in the UK or when you're hearing them bear in the UK, you just know that it's it's about to go crazy. It's about to go crazy. So, no, I can see how see how that's a thing.
Still for >> sure. Still outside of London, would you say there's anywhere else that has that kind of effect?
Um, London is is the city. Do you mean outside of >> outside of the UK? Sorry.
>> Yes. America has that as well, which is New York, >> you know.
>> So, anywhere that is like basically of that culture cuz I know like London's got loads of Ghanaians and like West Africans as a whole. So like New York, >> Caribbeans as well.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Black culture basically.
>> Exactly. So many cities in the world that has that um influence would also play a role in in that. And you can find some of the capital cities in the world.
>> So, uh besides the UK, London, >> New York has that as well.
>> Yes. In Americas still, >> but um do you have any children, bro?
>> Yeah, I have two two children.
>> Okay. I was going to ask like is there anything that your So, do you have a son?
>> Absolutely. I got one and a daughter. Is there anything your son could ask you that he would go to his mother for before you that would offend you?
>> Like, >> is there anything that my son will ask me that would go to his mother for before me? Right.
>> So, you ask his mother before he asks you? So, let's say I don't know how old your son is, but let's say >> let's say he's more older than >> 16 17.
Is there anything that he'll go to his mother first before asking you that it would it would make you feel away basically like how come you didn't speak to me first?
>> Is there anything if I can um span it? I think at that age he's a teenager >> and therefore if he does go to the mom before he comes to me >> then that is how he's supposed to go.
>> So what if it was about women >> say again >> or if it was about women or about sex >> love or yeah so that's what I'm saying at the age of 16 >> if he has to go to the mother before he comes to me then that's how it's supposed to be because >> but wouldn't you expect him to come to you for certain type of things?
>> That's what I'm saying. Now we need to specify those things. I was actually going to go into some examples. You know what I'm saying? Some of the things that a son would ask a mother before they ask me.
>> Many of those things if we bring it practically are things that we know that the voice of our mom would make it happen.
>> So we go through the mother and then they can help us to go to our father >> to get that many of the things. And I'm being very practical.
>> Okay. you know once you're able to convince your mom >> then she's now able to convince your dad that which is very practical but in terms of >> u personal stuff that would have to do with his sex as a man >> I believe that he would find relativity with the father immediately first before he would find that relativity to the mother >> except maybe it's um um single mother situation >> and that's where you find out that the boy child would really be looking outside >> because There are definitely some things that as a a teenager naturally they may have to come to the that first and most often they're even shy when it comes to the sex situation and so you the man have to actually look out for those things to approach them and give them that confidence but then also it starts from the childhood >> the way I am with my son I trust that by the time he's 12 and 13 he'd be able to come to me for those things >> yeah personally I would feel >> if that happened to me personally and my um son went to his mom first.
>> Yeah, I I'd feel offended still.
>> But it depends on what. That's what I'm saying.
>> I'm talking about using the example of >> the example of sex. Yes. Yes. Yes. But I don't think I would feel offended.
>> Yeah. I wouldn't feel offended because open up, you know, >> as much as I'm a guy and you know, my son should relate to me more in that in this kind of sense.
>> I'm still a parent and my mom said my mom my >> mom your wife >> my wife or my girlfriend or whoever it is at the time.
Just say wife my girlfriend bro he loves the baby but don't put him in the spot because he's being very you know >> okay hold on it for me >> me when I talk I try to put examples people are co-arenting >> no it happens it happens picture why don't you paint the best picture >> he's painting a hypothetical picture >> I can't Cool. Cool.
>> Cool. So, yeah, >> but um I'd expect >> my child to have that same sort of com comfortability with both of us. Do you get? So, I'll be okay with feeling, oh, >> yes, >> you're going to go to momsy about whatever it is growing up.
>> Yeah, I'm not going to I'm not going to feel offended. Not at all.
>> Okay, cool. Offended might be too strong of a word.
>> Okay, let's say feeling to his feeling to have sex basically like he's at an age where there are certain feelings that he's feeling. Let's just be specific and try to draw >> you.
away.
>> Okay. So, and then it goes to the mom.
You'll be offended.
>> I will feel away because at the end of the day, yeah, >> you're supposed to relate.
>> Yeah. But you sometimes you need to understand how do you portray yourself as a parent if you're a parent. No, no, no.
>> He's not going to come to you with nothing.
>> I don't think the guy got to the age of 17 without being 7 8 N.
>> Exactly.
>> So, it depends on how you think about it first.
>> Yeah, bro. Regardless, like >> there's certain things I would feel away about.
>> Yeah. About the walk stuff, >> bro. Like, okay, cool. Yeah. That >> and you feeling away, you're going to show yourself feeling away. Is it? Do you think that's going to beat him for myself into them situation?
>> Get myself into that conversation.
>> But also, you know that from how I grew up and and where I grew up from, >> we we tend to our mothers more than our fathers >> about that type of stuff, >> of course.
>> But we don't talk to our parents anyway.
So, why are you surprised? Exactly. When I when I've had when I've had any type of conversation of that level, I don't What do you mean?
>> But I have never sex about sex about think I have ever had that type of conversation with my mom.
>> But have you ever Okay. Well, >> neither have I had it with my dad.
>> Till this age, >> but I've I've had a conversation with my dad and I would never have a conversation with my mom.
>> Yeah. But that's okay because of how you and him are.
>> Yeah. But generally speaking, the standard >> is for guys to be able to, it doesn't have to be tell your dad every single thing, but the general standard if that topic comes up in conversation, the norm is for that to be had with another man.
But as a man, how you grew up?
>> No, it's how society is, bro.
>> It's how you grew up. It's because me, I'm being specific to the situation.
It's how you grew up. Some people grew up not being able to speak to the that at all. So if he's 17 and 18, is he now going to tell you about that? I think we have to think first conversation that you had.
So I think you could go to your dad because you and him are like that and you can open up on some things.
>> But I'm put I'm putting in a situation where both parents end the life. We have to use uh the best case. Okay. So both parents oh then you go to your dad.
>> But in this case the the son has gone to the mom.
>> I'm just saying no matter what you men say to me that is trying to be >> So isn't the best case scenario. All right. Okay. Good. There's no scenario where >> that's calm.
>> It's calm. Like, yes, I'm not going to beat him. Like, he hasn't be like, "BRO, WHY ARE YOU NOT COMING TO ME?
>> I know what the norm is." It's going to make me question like, "Ra, >> am I not a good life?
>> Do you have a child?"
>> No, I don't.
>> So lying, bro.
>> I'm tell you.
>> I'm speaking from from an honest perspective. When me and my wife are together, >> you see, >> we actually cuz we're using the best case scenarios.
>> Okay. Okay. When I was on a plane right now, when I was on a plane to London, right, my daughter has a phone. She's eight.
>> She I will show you the video. She does a video and sent me at the end of everything. She make sure she's the last one to hit me up. Sent me a video. Daddy d have a good flight. Then guess what I did? I forwarded it to the my wife and said, "Don't show it to CJ else she's going to feel betrayed."
>> Because No, because that's the last moment she and I >> and it's so cute. I'm just showing to her mom. So in a good in a in a best case scenario where there's a which is what we pray for where there's a mom a dad and there's that kind of communication amongst them >> that that the guy has asked the mother would end up at the father >> because the mother might even come get the answer from the he's saying he's saying this is all about feeling not about what the conclusion happens so >> okay is is there anything apart from a sex you would have this >> yeah because what you're asking I'm not if the woman does have that answer Yeah, >> the really masculine situation in a good home that would go to the dad and get the answer to try to give the child because she came to him.
>> She came to her, she came to her.
>> So in the end, you same one who is going to give that answer depending on what it is.
>> If it is really a masculine sex type of thing, then the dad will know better anyway will know best. So the woman would in go and get the answer to come and give to the or when she opens it up to the guy. The man will now then pick up that conversation with a child >> say yo bro come over this side. Do you know what I'm saying? I heard you told mom this one. I'm speaking from >> small experience of having a son and a daughter who can communicate >> the those ones they talk to my guys on phone >> you know. So I'm speaking from experience of why I will not feel any way >> but I but then as the age goes on they would know what to take to the mom and what to take to me >> directly especially my son and my daughter basically so I wouldn't feel any way >> in this kind of situation it's about who you're comfortable with in opening up to >> and we are both parents so you know >> I think I feel a way about a majority these situations I think there's like in the sex situation you know I hear both sides because fair enough for the woman you know She can give you a different perspective as a as a man.
>> But I think like things that are like clearly masculine like >> let's say for example car issues or something like that.
>> If it didn't come to me first away I can't lie. I'm going be like bro what's going on? I'll probably even cut out that that conversation with the mom and be like >> yeah bro like what you doing bro talk to you about that.
>> What do you mean she to change that tire? I >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But I hear both sides.
I I'll definitely feel a way >> some like a car of course the mother doesn't even know so she would get SHE but we're bit specific I'm just saying typically like car issue now he's going with the car issue >> instead of you the man to get angry the woman get angry at the child >> car is your dad >> speak my parents >> playing with me speaking of my parents though what's one thing your parents um >> done that you wouldn't do like something that maybe when you was when you was growing up that maybe your mom had or your dad had or they were doing that you just wouldn't do like in terms of how they raised you >> principles morals >> UBD's students >> one thing that comes to mind straight away yeah you see when our parents let's say like your mom's got a phone call >> and you pick it up for her and she tells you to lie on her behalf >> I feel like I would try to avoid making my kids lie for I feel I feel like I feel like it's just a bad example cuz how can I now tell you lying is wrong?
>> As a child, yeah, I used to think, bro, you're telling me lying is wrong, but you make me lying.
>> What would your mom make you lie?
>> It would BE LIKE I'M NOT HOME. Your mom's not home. She's not home. She not It's lying.
>> Would you take that type of something?
It's still something.
>> Would you take that into your life and be like like if you're lying, you would relate it back to that and be like, I'm lying now because >> I'm not saying I'm not saying that's that's why I'm lying. I was lying before that. But >> but I just feel like it's hard to tell your child not to do something that you're doing in a type of way. So that's my thing.
>> Literally, you're making that on your >> behalf. We we we say that though, but if we're being real, like cool. Let's say your parents was doing something like as we have grown up. Your parents are telling you don't do something that they're doing. You can never look at them and be like, "But you do it though.
You're just not going to do anything."
>> My mom could never If my mom drinks, if my mom drinks Yeah. If my mom drinks Yeah. at your at your age of growing up.
I'm not >> Let's say I'm 16. Let's say I'm 16.
Yeah. And I've seen my mom drink >> and then now I want to start drinking D and she's on me about allow me brok.
You're banning like let's say that's happened. You're banning your parents.
>> Being a parent doesn't It's not about It's not about banning your parents.
It's not about banning your parents.
It's about following the example you're trying to set. If your parent is telling you something and you can view them as a hypocrite.
>> Come on, bro. Tell me, bro. I'm not listening to your parents.
>> They got to be the example. They got to be You wouldn't do it if you could see that your parents are contradicting yourself.
>> Facts.
>> Uh, >> so you would listen if they were contradicting, >> bro. I feel like >> don't smoke.
>> Yeah. What do you mean?
>> Smokes weed and it's trying to tell.
>> Let's not use an example like that.
Listen, why not? WHY NOT?
>> I'M TRYING TO BE REALISTIC like things that DON'T REALISTIC. I HAD BRETHREN SMOKING WEED and they smoke weed before all the man in it. My dad don't smoke weed. So I CAN RELATE.
I CAN'T RELATE to what he's talking about. My parents didn't do that to the type of one. Okay, >> but I get where you're coming from. His brethren that smoke weed first. Their parents were smoking weed. Where did they get their weed from? I stole it from his dad.
>> Literally, bro.
>> Their dad will tell them not to smoke weed. But naturally, man's dad smokes weed.
>> So wait, baby, you think? Yeah. As a parent, man could do something and tell my child not to do it. think it's good but I'm just saying the way that we have been well maybe I'm talking for myself in it what your parents are saying is law like at the end of the day you can think yo they're they're capping oh they're not really >> like aligned with what what they're talking about >> they got to follow they got to follow that law >> I support my brother because link up link UP but if if that is then that's cool because the thing is it's Oh, I grew up in uh I grew up like that. So I thought I can get it.
I grew up like that. And I think >> the position where you as a child stand to question too much and whatever.
There's also an age of consent >> where you have to use your own head to think about stuff.
>> Yeah.
>> There are so several examples that we grew around and we do not have to do the same thing. So that one is on you. Yeah.
>> If your father for instance smokes and you they tell you not to smoke and you feel like you want to smoke, >> would you smoke at the age of 6 8 9 >> maybe?
>> Then if you smoke at the age of 6 7 8 9 me my house I will put you to it. I will straighten you.
>> Yeah.
>> Facts >> because I didn't if I smoke I didn't smoke at 67.
So you have to get to age of consent realize some of the things. So you have to now be responsible for some of the >> What's the age of consent for smoking by the way? What age do you think is the age of >> like the legal age anyway?
>> Now what's the age of consent that your child could smoke >> and you would be okay with it?
>> Except he's an adult. That's his own decision. I'll try and discuss it.
>> Discuss it.
>> Yeah. But what age is there now of consent in Ghana? I think is 18. Okay, cool. Would you be okay with it at 18?
18. 18 year old. Ah, I'm okay for look I'm okay with you being an adult and taking a certain decision but probably most of you will never even find out.
There are people who are old now and have certain habits that their mother and father do not know till now because they respected their parents and they used to kind of respect >> that their dad or father wouldn't see.
>> I don't know how many of us over here have had sex and shown it to our parents.
>> Not yet.
>> NOT YET.
NO, >> EVEN mentioned it.
>> You're done. Look what happened.
>> Yes.
>> When I have a baby, don't think it's a miracle.
>> Exactly. Yes.
>> Virgin in the flesh.
>> So, there are still some things that you would have to keep under wraps and be respectful and be respectful about it, especially for yourself at the age that you are. But let's be realistic. Are we going to allow our kids I mean in terms of lie >> to a to a large extent they learn from what we do >> okay me I have a prosthesis in my right leg right >> do you know that my wife caught my son trying to walk like me >> like he just loves his dad so much >> certain groups he emulates so at this age of him being a seven year old he's speaking things naturally that is what that tells me but by the age of maybe 10 11 12 when he where he's growing >> he would have to now be thinking for himself decisions for himself and that is where you'd have to now step in and discuss certain things but >> perfection as parents zero not all of us are perfect >> fair enough parents are not perfect so if you say my dad asked me to lie for a da who is coming to collect money pick and tell him I'm not home >> I will do that I will do that because I'm not going to pick catch another police catch my father in the household I agree with him. I agree.
The whole group, but you're saying you're saying there's no harm. Surely there is some harm to me. Like you're saying little white lies.
>> Yeah. Not even the little being white lies. What white lies again?
>> Like when it's harmless, >> but not every the example he gave was harmless. But Ben's Beng's principle of lying of making your child lie for you.
I don't think the effect of that is harmless.
If you talking about those lies here, you're just you were talking about those little >> I am talking about those little white lies, but I think that the effect of it is like I can stand on a principle and not live by it. That's the issue. It's like you're teaching your son you can you can say you believe something and not live it. It's better to live by the principle than stand by it.
>> What do you mean?
>> You said you can you you just said something right now that you can you can what? Maybe I didn't hear it right.
>> I'm I'm saying like it's What did I say?
You kept saying you can stand for something but not live it.
>> No, but I'm saying it's better it's better to live it than stand like that's what it's better to live it than than to proclaim you believe something and not live it.
>> Living it we are all not perfect.
>> I get that though. I get that. I get that. I get that. I get that.
>> You know, but I'll tell you living it holds way more weight than >> Way more weight just the rest of my water though.
>> Just the water.
>> Yeah. I need I need alcohol.
>> Okay.
>> But um another thing that What was you going to say, bro? I was gonna bind the next to you.
>> Oh, I was gonna say nothing about >> But would you lie would you would you would you would you lie for your your for um >> my child?
>> No, your your parent would you lie for them knowing the situation? Would you?
>> Yeah, I would.
>> Exactly. I would also do that.
>> I would I was going to say another thing that our parents did. Obviously, mine got beats when I was growing up, but you get beaten in it. I wouldn't beat my >> reminiscent. Yeah. I wouldn't beat my children still.
>> Yeah. I might slap him though.
>> Me too.
>> Wait, what? Me? I have a king. have a cane that I show.
>> Hold on. You have a cane.
>> You have a big cane that I show them.
>> But you just don't use it to just brings out.
>> But it's interesting how I believe that the kids of today because I have two of them >> like they they they they love to be free >> and therefore depending on how you you you you communicate with them not only by speaking but by all the form or all the informal modes of communication they tend to >> listen and be straight. This is mine. So I wouldn't have to use the cane any longer cuz I have one.
>> Safety measures >> for my kids. They hate to make me hurt or they hate to make me feel as angry.
>> Okay.
>> Exactly.
>> So they're avoiding that more than the kid.
>> Exactly. Exactly. They hate to make >> Did you get beans growing up?
>> Sincerely.
>> Me. I was hot and they used to leave me with wire.
>> Do they work?
>> They work. I have scars over here.
>> Oh no. But did you change work on the body and work on the mind now?
>> And this is why I have to be my kids bro.
>> If they could turn out like stone boy, bro.
>> There was corporal smokes we >> punishment before. There was corporal punishment. That was even in schools.
>> You know was normal at times.
>> I don't I I I came from that school as well. So >> teachers can you how much more your mom and your dad.
>> You see what I'm saying? and teachers in my class. I remember vividly when I was in primary four and five. Yeah. The school that I went and you know all those hood schools >> it's like there was a board that there was a board right that separates the class 4 from class 5.
>> So when you were in class 4 >> you can see the people in class five but it was in one long hall and they separated. So these guys they love to just when one is caning it inspires all find something to five is caning and then they come and say let's go >> you can hear them people screaming and then this one will say his name is Mr. Tagadu, have you have you seen the heat in the other class?
>> You scared?
>> I'm about to put fire here. Fire.
>> He was inspired.
>> He was inspired.
>> He called me. I was a cardboard boy.
>> He called me and say, "Living stone." I said, "Yes, sir. Go and bring the homeworks from last week. Imagine you just want to find something." So, I believe that the king does >> no reason to beat you.
>> They just beat us. I believe so because the slightest thing that could have been like don't do that any longer and I I think we also had >> hardheaded people in schools no more as much as they don't any longer. So that would tell me that there must be some >> something in place of that >> because if you have stopped whipping them >> something's happened and >> something must definitely just beating them still >> or they didn't need to do it back then.
>> It's like we've never really needed to do it man we're just lazy. But it it was just a quick way of getting what you want.
>> So you agree beating is a lazy variant then?
>> I I think it is lazy.
>> You got there.
>> So would you So you wouldn't be a child.
>> No, I don't I don't want to say I wouldn't beat them. I ideally would not want to.
>> Okay.
>> But I can imagine a world where as a parent >> Yeah.
>> You see how Stone Boy said it perfectly earlier. Parents aren't perfect, bro.
You get me? So like in in frustration, you might >> Do you get me? Like smack or be >> smack's not beating, bro. I'm not doing I'm not doing the whole lay down there, let me clean >> because you know like after I always I always thought after when someone's beating you >> the anger's gone.
>> Why is it still why is it still ongoing?
They think they think it's disappointing.
>> That's what beating is though.
>> I'm not I think we had this discussion.
>> So you think you think if I'm if if my child does something wrong right now >> and I do so can I and I smack them in the moment. Yeah. You don't think that's beaten?
>> No.
>> Why?
>> Beating is a whole process.
>> Is a whole process, bro. punishing you.
>> Being has got contracts, got rules and regulations.
>> I've gotten both. You know, the one being the pre-planned one.
>> Yes. The one that I think it is stemming from religious backgrounds as well.
Sometimes because they read the Bible to you in Proverbs, they say the Lord will take away the foolishness from the mind of the child. There's a boy in it still.
You understand? Exact. That's I'm speaking practical truth. So my dad will reason me. I >> So read the Bible before he beats you.
>> Yeah. This is why I'm 32:6. No, he's teaching you the Bible at the same time.
>> Oh, maybe not like the Bible.
>> Cold.
>> I'm speaking my experience. People can you relate. He's teaching you the Bible at the same time.
>> That's Yeah, that's poor story.
>> So that you know that Yeah. This one he deserves for the foolishness to be taken up. But me today, I'm happy because two three days ago, I went to visit then someone priest in the the medium. Every time I go to visit them, I see a childhood friend who is in jail. And the only difference would have been that >> I believe my upbringing and you see not entirely because people fall in trouble different things happen >> but for the fact that >> I feared to bring problem to the house >> some people don't fear that >> I just manage to walk my walk J somewhere somehow. So I think that has actually helped me to always by the grace of God >> be on the good side of the law most often. Did you meant Did you meant fear getting excluded or like getting detentions and >> Yeah, because I knew what I was coming home to.
>> That's what I'm saying. You got deep.
Some people really on some speak to me one more time. You get to speak then. So, I don't want to be here anyway.
>> He never lived that way.
>> The way certain people were about the maddest form of like escalation in school, you could tell about >> Yeah. Like, so yeah, I agree with that.
your upbringing and discipline doesn't have to be through beatings. Exactly.
>> But you can definitely tell there wasn't a serious way but when I was growing up I always just thought beatings that that was my that was my way of >> that was my form of discipline. So I thought that was the only form of showing and you know how I knew that was not a way that you know my wife she had never been beaten.
>> Okay.
>> But she's straight >> and then she hates to disappoint the parents or the dad.
>> Fact. So that is how I got to know him.
>> You found that one >> and and that would have been another form of >> punishment. Punishment. However, that disqualified go. I cannot I do not know what or how the dad did it.
>> Yeah.
>> But she couldn't just >> be on the other side because she didn't want to. And I see that with my my girl.
>> Definitely definitely my daughter though.
>> You see, I see my daughter in that way.
She >> doesn't want to disappoint.
>> She doesn't want to disappoint me. And that alone, you know, is good enough for her to try to >> to do the right thing.
>> To do right and I see that if my son wants to take my character, >> there's trouble.
>> But for me, I knew that I was because our times there's no video game. Which video game are you playing like that? We are on a road. We're jumping from here.
We're doing that. So there were things that they need to tell us about. Don't do, don't do, don't do. And sometimes when they follow it with some fear, then you wouldn't do. M >> you know >> fair enough for sure.
>> That doesn't mean I'm 50 years though.
>> It's just from the era because this time the kids are playing game, bro.
>> Yeah.
>> He's in his room trying to y you're kind of in the safest space >> when you're in your house.
>> Just you you're controlling your TV.
>> You see you see like when let's say a friend does something to you that you >> that you think is wrong or you just does something in general that you think is wrong. Yeah. And you're trying to pull him up on it and you're trying to keep him accountable. Yeah.
How far can that friend go in correcting you? So, let's say for example, you've caught your friend or your friend has caught you cheating.
>> Yeah. Or >> he's found out that you cheated on your wife.
>> In order to keep you accountable, he's really speaking to you in a type of way that you find disrespectful.
>> Can he talk to you like that even though you've done wrong?
>> No. Me doing wrong doesn't warrant disrespect.
>> But he's his reaction to this is because you've done something so crazy. He's disappointed in you, but he's really like, "Come on, bro." Like, you're [ __ ] up.
>> It It doesn't warrant disrespect.
>> So, in that scenario, how are you handling that? Are you just going to take the talking to >> Hey, bro. Shut up.
>> Yeah, cuz I know cuz I know I know where it's coming from, but I'm more within my right to correct him.
>> Correct.
>> Yeah. Don't chat to me like that.
Obviously, man gets the promise of the premise of where things are coming from.
But talk to me boy to boy where boy is here, bro.
>> He's talking to you boy to boy on a level like that. So, you know the like how far you've gone. Yes. But I could I could understand that if you told me something I can understand what you're saying without >> if I come to you and I'm like oh bro I can't lie man you can't >> no he wouldn't say that he wouldn't do it like that bro if I'm like bro it does it is the impact eventually it's the message that you want to send across >> it is not your anger that you want to show me >> right it's the message so I buy your ideas like talk to me nice don't disrespect me because I may have done something crazy but now disrespecting me because of what I've done is be crazy.
>> It's another password.
>> Exactly. Exactly.
>> And now now your message might even get lost in the disrespect.
>> Yeah. No facts.
>> How dare you try to chat to me like that?
>> I'll cheat again.
>> I'll do it again.
>> Watch me.
>> What were you going to say?
>> No, no, no. So, I think that was just a question. How far he can go? Like how how mad can he go about it?
>> But I don't think he has anything to be disrespectful. I don't think he can be too passionate either.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> Wizard your wife, >> bro. You don't even know her like that, bro.
>> You love her. How do you love her? Why are you being so passionate about it?
>> He loves you, bro. He's He not in a weird way, but he doesn't want a weird way. He doesn't want you to like, bro, he he loves what you've got going on at home, bro. You got a good passion. Good woman at home. Make you think that it's for you, bro. Like, bro, you're not really really on her as well, BRO.
>> YOU KNOW, >> and that's the disrespect. Everything before that was fine. You could be passionate. Call me pathetic, >> brother.
>> So, it's too far. Yeah. But, so don't cuss me directly.
>> Yeah. Don't be disrespectful, but >> but all in all, you would still take the talking to >> Yeah. Yeah. For sure. For sure.
>> There's no way you did that, bro. No way. Yeah. I'm trying to act it out to her.
>> No, you know how she >> No, no. Now, now you're even What do you mean you know how good she is for you, bro?
>> Brought you up, man. How you doing? A >> Yeah, fair enough.
>> Yeah. Yeah. To be fair, but maybe cheating the wrong example, though. Is it? Because you're cheating. I can understand um that I can understand.
>> However, >> say anything yet. I can understand why your friend would be passionate. It's a big deal. So, I can understand why he would be passionate about that. But there's other things that might be more weirder.
>> Okay. Like, >> yeah, >> I don't know. What are the things that your friends can hold you accountable for?
>> Okay, let's say let's say you've said you wanted to go gym.
>> Yeah. Say you wanted to go [ __ ] man.
>> And he's just he's just bullying you, bro. Like this what you you always say you're going to do things. You never do it. You're wet, bro. You're weird, bro.
>> My friends can do that. But I think that comes from body positivity.
>> I think it's more about um my friend saying that in a place where >> they know it's going to hit home.
>> No, no, no. Not just Yeah. They know that's the way to get to me, but they also know they're not doing it on a bullying aspect. Mhm.
>> Like man's not man out of shape to the point where they're like actually bullying me. It's more like getting on me. You're a joke man. Cuz that's how the man them are about man not going.
You didn't go gym today.
>> You're a [ __ ] Like that's how man actually talks to man's brother. They're [ __ ] So that's just how man goes about them [ __ ] >> How you been gym today?
>> H I actually have. Have you?
>> Okay. Naturally not [ __ ] >> I think that's burgered up bro.
>> I think it's quite hard. I'm trying to think of what's something they can hold me accountable for that I would find offensive that they're moving passionate about. Yeah, >> but I I also think as friends, you know, you guys would have formed a certain code of ethics and some language amongst code of ethics of language at whatever level, >> you know, that's how each other. self- responsibility and selfacountability is the ultimate >> you know so that that that that actually sets you apart first and foremost because I can't be too >> I can't be too concerned more than you should be in a practical situation where I could I should just nudge you to remind you of the intensity of that >> that you have done >> I just nudging you to remind you probably and then you it's up to you to actually carry the responsibility for yourself and I think it goes a long way amongst boys lately or whatever it is that selfacountability has become that it's your friends who supposed to be feeling that for you long >> you should also you know and of course you should also have some level of dignity to be able to talk to your friend in a certain manner when they're wrong >> because imagine you are always >> cheating and doing something that is like now you about to shout on the other guy nowhere exactly so there must be some level of >> yeah I disagree with that I know. I know.
>> I thought the messenger is important.
>> I know it's clear.
>> Um, >> no. But imagine, let's say I'm I am a thief >> and I' I'm a klepto at that. Yeah.
>> Then you take something that one time, two time >> or you take something whatever. Then I come at you to try to, you know, like, >> but what if it's two different vices?
Let's say I'm a cheater and you're a thief.
>> Mhm.
>> Can the thief tell me the cheater?
>> Cheating. A vice.
>> Cheating is a vice.
I would have for smoking.
>> They're too different. They're too different. They're too different.
>> They're too different. I'm >> with Let's say for example, let's say for example, you're you're >> Oh, I'm stressed. I just need to cheat today.
>> I DIDN'T WANT TO do it today.
>> Yeah. Let's say a thief and and a cheater. Yeah. Let's say the thief is telling the cheater like, "Bro, you need to fix up."
>> Surely as the cheater, I can still take in that message even though you're not on the right path. Right.
>> Two different sins.
>> So, that means it's fine.
>> Say again.
>> So, because it's two different sins, I should be able to take that message, right? Yes, of course. That's why I said they're two different drug and alcohol examples.
>> Okay, let's say there's somebody who smokes and there's somebody who drinks.
>> Oh, that one they will argue and laugh about it.
>> Because drunken that's the reality similar in the damage.
>> They can argue about the damage to you.
It's almost the same thing. Somebody smokes and they be like, "Hey, you can you drink about I'm not going to I'm not going to tell you you shouldn't be cheating your wife.
You're going to say no, but you be stealing, >> BRO.
>> Just stop cheating.
Stop cheating. So, imagine a cheater that I know is also coming to tell me not to cheat. Then that's like we reminding each other to step down.
>> To cool down. To cool down. It's like bro, we need to stop.
>> You can't come and say you said bro.
It's like bro you've you've you've gone to the next level you know >> this one is cheating bro man six >> you are graduating you are you are trying to graduate let's go back to form four >> m minor cheating >> that one can work >> you don't seem like a do you you don't seem like a person that has any road rage like not ask when you're driving on the roads you know you know something annoys you are you the type to get angry do you beep your horn at all do you have road rage >> oh yes yes yes you read me wrong SIR WHERE I come from, there's a saying that if you can if you can drive in a shy man, you can drive anywhere in the world.
>> If you say that again, >> if if you can drive in a shy where I come from a you know where shy is an area in Ghana is an area in Ghana is in it.
>> He did say it. He did say it. He did say it's on the is a city on the left and tear is on the right. But that's one of the most popular in Ghana. Oh, Dave showing off where you just said Ghana. Did you hear how he said Ghana? In where?
>> In Ghana.
>> He said Ghana.
>> We've been saying that's not how you say Ghana. You know he's British. He be saying Ghana, but it's Ghana.
>> Why are you saying he >> show might have been right for weeks?
>> Literally Ghana. We got Ghana. It is Ghana.
>> Ghana.
>> You ain't going.
>> You have road.
>> Yeah. Yeah. So yes, it's people do all the you know >> just anyhow anyhow >> I heard you have to beep to have to beep >> you go for the road your car's broken down >> sometimes you have to beep sometimes you you just have to sometimes you have to have a lot of patience >> so that one too is there I I just have decided to have patience right now because and be careful to save myself come and kill yourself >> because when you you know in in an accident every both of us get hurt.
>> Yeah. In an accent, both of us, if I don't if it if it doesn't hit me like on my skin, my car is going to dent and I'm still going to deal with that. But for me, as stone boy, >> it's too much for me to take. So when I'm when I'm going out and I have to drive myself, >> I make sure I have on the cup of patience. Else I call a dispatch. It's easy.
>> What about you, man? Do you mind or road?
>> Comes and goes, man.
>> I don't think I've ever seen comes and goes. It's I'm on the storm boy vibe.
He's been in the car with road rage.
>> Yeah, but overall he hardly has road rage. I heard him say, "What the [ __ ] are you doing, man?" And that's >> that's as far as it goes.
>> [ __ ] bro.
>> Go out day.
>> What about you, bro?
>> No. No road rage still.
>> I find it so funny when people are banging up.
>> OH, BRO. JUST DRIVE, MAN. LIKE, THEY'RE BANGING UP. BANGING UP, BRO. LIKE, we have places to go.
>> He's actually in another car >> and you're shouting at each other. Can we can we go please?
>> Who are you?
>> Um mine I'm I'm I'm touch and go man.
>> What about Have you seen any roads from him? Like >> from JB? Not that I remember. Yeah.
>> Travis cars fam.
>> You would know though. Is it you've been driving? Yeah. Does he have roads?
>> I'm good right now.
>> When when it comes to situations when it when it comes to situations where let's say for example, you're like this headto head.
>> Oh, I'm the what? What?
>> I'm I'll move back cuz I need to go to I need TO GO TO I'VE ACTUALLY changed as a man.
>> Wow. Yeah, cuz I'm said I'm not saying I don't have road raidge though, >> but that thing that's I've changed a lot of things. I definitely used to be much more on the road. Ah, Ubie. Beeping the horn. That's one thing >> I hate. Beeping the horn still. I think beeping the horn is is is mad still.
You're disrupting so many people. Not only are you beeping the horn at the person, everybody else don't know what's happening. Then the people on the people that are walking are all hearing. It's literally noise disruption. So man, avoid beeping horn at all costs.
>> Yeah, a man reverses in that situation.
The only thing that does piss me off naturally. I'm still a monkey at heart.
So if you stop at Amber Light, I might overtake you. Uber and cross the line.
But that's all right. That's not even road.
>> It's not all right. If you do it, police would pull you if they saw you doing it.
>> But it's not road rage. You know what I mean?
>> It's not road speeding.
>> It's not road rage. No.
>> No. You got You're avoiding the person.
This person >> UNLESS UNLESS YOU'RE GOING OFF AT the guy the [ __ ] idiot. Why you not Yes.
>> I definitely stuff though.
>> I feel like I can go through tight gaps fast if I'm annoyed at how slow traffic's moving.
>> Obviously, I know I'm not going to hit my car, but I'm doing it in a way that looks reckless enough to scare the other driver.
>> This boy's crazy. I do know that the other driver as I'm coming towards the no clue as in because obviously you know sometimes when a gap's tight you might need to come away from it to go into it. So I exaggerate that go away from it like >> that man's very close to your ube and then squeeze through the ooby-doo. So I think maybe that's something I need to work on in 2027.
>> Yeah, man. No roads to be cool still. How your how's your inside voice as well? Like do you feel like when you go and you're out and about like in places, maybe you're on the phone, >> um do you feel like you're someone that like >> you got a good inside voice in terms of like you don't disrupt other people?
Let's use the phone as an example.
You're out, you're on the phone, you got your AirPods in.
>> Do you think you're calm and collected?
Like do you feel like >> shout >> or do you shout? Do you feel like you're on the phone and you're too loud? Oh, >> I I I think I'm I I just manage. I I don't I've not caught myself shouting as much. You know, >> maybe in a situation where >> I'm pissed off sometime somewhat on on the conversation that I'm having then I'll manage to move away a little bit and then you know but besides that it's normal. It's like this I talk normal and so you know it's always calm like that sometimes.
>> I'll be >> I'll be sh on the phone bro. you.
>> Yeah, I be getting told off that I'm making too much noise.
>> Where are you doing that?
>> Um, the people I'm with.
>> Wow.
>> I'll be at home.
>> Yo, my mom on the phone. I remember schools called my mom.
>> Regular conversation.
>> They said to my mom, "Why are you shouting?" She said, "This is just how I speak, bro."
>> The schools asked her why she's shouting.
>> The teacher said to my mom, "Why are you shouting?" My mom said, "This is just how I speak."
>> And that's when you That's when I realized this woman has a loud voice, bro. Does your mom actually shout on the phone? Bro, did you SEE THE FOOTBALL MATCH YESTERDAY?
>> YOU KNOW WHAT I THINK ABOUT THAT that I've had? I I think I've I I I feel >> And she lives life on speaker as well. I think that it doesn't help.
>> What do you mean live on speaker?
>> Never to the ear. Always on speaker.
>> Yeah. But I feel like sincerely I mean for conversation sake people some people use that against Africans. Oh, hondo.
>> Therefore, like I've goten that before. I've gotten that before when I know I'm not shouting >> because watch it. It comes from confidently speaking amongst each other.
>> Intimidate them.
>> Thank you. I'm being very quiet about your language.
>> Thank you. I have checked it and I realized >> on it's it's it's really a thing that >> I don't be speaking my language, man.
That's why you know like bro I'm not even shouting I'm talking to you.
>> I've gotten that a few times and I've studied it to realize that >> more often than not it's like a manipulative situation. I mean it's distinctive when somebody is like loud on the phone most you know you can but sometimes somebody's trying to talk to you >> and you say why are you shouting especially when they know they're wrong or you're you know admonishing them or you're acknowledging a certain situation sometimes if I do remember well maybe you go somewhere your shop something you know and but why are you shouting I'm like no come on man I'm not shouting I'm trying to talk to you happened to me before so that's what it made me realize that I think outside of Listen, I don't believe because I'm not >> It must be extreme for anybody to tell that you're shouting in Ghana.
>> I I don't know. But cuz all of you going crazy. It must be extreme for I don't know. It must be extreme.
>> But for the level and that means what?
>> Why are you shouting like that?
>> Did you know that?
>> I didn't hear what I >> did.
All this time you you've never told me.
>> But I don't think Africans are confident to each other. They say they say Ghanaians are really polite.
>> You get to repeat that as well.
>> Leave me. Leave me. Leave me.
>> What did he say?
>> Ghana's cool, man. You know my accent. I know I can.
>> Okay. Can you repeat it for us?
>> No. No. It's good. It's good. It's good.
I'll repeat the next thing you want me.
>> Cold. Cold. Cold.
>> He's meant to be Ghanaian, but he's meant to be. He's meant to be man know how to speak our dialect depending on where we grew up. Even someone in Ghana because they didn't go around, you know, they can't speak. You hear that?
>> Some you say some some in Ghana don't know how to speak their language.
They've >> gone to believe in Europe, bro.
>> I'd assume so. I'll be honest.
>> In Ghana. Yes. It's quite official language of both of those countries.
English, bro. Right. Remember that?
>> In Ghana. I remember that. Think about it. The road rage thing naturally.
That's a great message you've sent. I mean, not road rage, sorry. The inside voice.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah man. Yeah, I definitely don't have I was on the phone with the the the lads the other day and yeah, I went from the gym to Costco.
>> Oh, I remember this.
>> And wow, >> both buildings definitely heard those phone calls like I'll be I'll be on the phone. The man will be like, "Where are you? I'm in the gym." Like they can tell everyone can hear what I'm saying. I'm laughing. The worst ones I've gone to Costco, >> me and you know what I mean? And we argue sitting in rivalry. We were arguing about sat. Why you saying that to me? The way the um >> the is right in front of me. So I'm like, why are you saying that to me? But she thinks I'm talking to her.
>> Guess what? One time I was traveling in an airport. In an airport, >> which one?
>> If you find this, I don't know. I don't want my Nigerian people to come at me, but normally >> even me are the vex. I say ah >> Nigerians hersed [ __ ] >> Wow. Like see me, I'm saying wow. Come on to the next.
>> See me, I'm saying wow.
So every day we learn something.
>> It's gig.
>> That's why when you said Africans, that's why when you said that shouting, I'm Nigerian. When you said that shouting perspective to me, >> I was like, nah, Nigerians be shouting still. Yeah, but ah you telling somebody like that that you are shouting and they told the guy he was shouting and he said >> he [ __ ] them off like >> shouting. So you realize that it's how >> shouting people >> as he shouting. Yeah.
>> Who shout >> at home? At home are you the shout >> or is it everyone >> at home? I'm the shouter as like on the phone with the man them naturally. I've had my sister knock on my door like he just remember >> it's a part of them >> but I don't know if everyone in my house does it. I'm saying I'm my house.
>> They learned in capital letters.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> You man the alphabet? Yeah.
>> Can you man do the alphabet without doing the song?
>> Yes.
>> Hey, >> thank you my bro. You said you can. It's not going to be as funny.
>> Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Make it funny. make fun >> when I get to that element of >> can you do it without >> but what are you going to define as a song cuz if man just says it in a little a little bit of >> you do about doing it in order >> like throw me in there somewhere >> if I give you a random letter okay cool what comes after T >> U.
>> What comes after P?
>> Q.
>> Yeah, he knows it.
>> But he don't know.
>> He don't know.
He knows it. He knows it too. He couldn't do it. He knows it. YOU DON'T KNOW IT.
>> YEAH.
>> WHAT COMES AFTER F?
>> G.
>> You said that.
>> What comes after Y?
>> Zed, bro. Come on, bro.
>> MAN DON'T KNOW THAT.
>> HOW COME?
>> NO, THAT'S LIKE SAYING WHAT COMES AFTER a like. Come on. Come on, bro.
>> You're actually 43, bro.
>> What?
>> Okay, cool. I'll give you one more.
>> Give it to MB.
>> Who gives it to you?
>> You know I don't know, bro.
>> What comes to F?
>> G.
>> Oh, that was EFG.
>> Yeah, >> that's what I think about the song cuz before D >> before.
>> YEAH.
HE WAS THINKING THOUGH. HE WAS THINKING THOUGH. HE WAS thinking ABC.
>> So you don't know what's That's mad, >> bro. It's gone, bro.
>> Lmento literally L.
>> I definitely want to go the white thing though.
>> Z, bro.
>> Yeah. XYZ.
>> Oh, >> you learn something new every day.
Anyway, I got a game for you guys.

No, >> look at each other.
>> Can I look at their face?
>> No hinting. But yeah, >> um anyway, so it's hardly ever.
>> If you all get the the same word, that's three points.
>> Mhm.
>> If three of you get the same word, that's two points >> each. Yeah.
>> Uh to the people who got it.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Match.
>> Um if two of you get the same word, that's one. And it's just one person, that's none in that. Of course, there's no match.
>> Exactly. Exactly.

>> You're losing my three.
>> Yeah. On three. Yeah, you have less than other people cuz you one.

>> Okay.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, God bless you and You are too much. The way I wrote the one dance I see my ink they flow me.
>> Yes.
>> Sometime I write like an Arab.
I went to Arabic school. I come to school.
>> Next one.
>> Name a Ghanaian dish not including jalofess.
>> Ah. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go.
>> Hold on. Hold on. Calm down. We have to >> Don't worry. Don't worry. Like that.
THEY'VE BEEN TELLING YOU >> MOVE YOUR ANSWER FROM HIM. I've been telling you telling you I've been telling move the board.
>> Is there another pen?
>> Yeah. Yeah. So the pen is actually running out of that m >> take this.
>> Oh my days.
>> No no no.
>> Stop cheating, bro.
>> You're showing your >> Am I? No, I DON'T MEAN TO.
HEY, >> REVEAL. REVEAL. Everyone reveal cheating doing it.
>> What did you write? Did you write >> on the same thing though?
>> Bang.
>> I got Bangu.
>> What did you write before?
>> What before?
>> I put watch.
>> What's that? Two each.
>> Yeah, two each.
>> Two each. So, we got two points, right?
Sorry. One 20 one. Sorry. One each one.
>> One in 1.8 each.
>> It's one each.
>> Yeah. 1.8.
>> Okay. I'm on eight.
>> But I'm on seven though.
>> I'm on six.
>> How you on seven? You was on five just now.
>> You You didn't get a bangu. You are >> You meant to add one.
>> It's six.
>> Okay. Okay.
>> Next one. Name a Jamaican dish not including jerk chicken.
>> So, >> I mean, I'm stuck here. Yeah, >> you been offensive for no reason.
>> He said, "I'm stuck here like judging his only dish." What we doing though? We have to choose the one. Come on, bro.
>> Come on, bro.
>> Can I just name the meat though?
>> No, you g away.
>> One reveal.
>> REAL like you, bro.
>> Yeah, man. Yeah, >> stupid.
>> How many points?
>> Sorry. Sorry. Sorry.
>> Uh, was that three of you?
>> I'm on two of us. Nine.
>> Oh, sure. You didn't get one.
>> I'm on nine.
>> ALL RIGHT, MR. B.
>> I WAS on six. Plus three points.
>> Two. All of us get it, but I didn't get it.
>> Oh, be be checking me. Oh, please.
>> I don't want to go too far.
>> Wait. So, you're the cheater. So, you tell your friend.
>> I'm the cheater.
It depends. I am C H E E T A H.
Okay. Okay. Okay. Think about it. Think about it.
>> It's the last one.
>> Last question. Yeah.
>> Last one. Yeah.
>> Name a famous wrestler.
>> It's not hard, bro. This guy always thinking.
>> Can you not think, bro?
>> I say who? There's only one guy, bro.
>> All right, boys. Come on, bro.
>> I know you can't see this, but everybody just lock in. Three, two, ONE, REVEAL.
WHERE DID YOU GET your Did you open? Did you check >> me? No, >> you know your shade. So you actually >> My shade is clear. I can move it for you. I can close my eye answering.
>> How many points was that?
>> So I'm I'm on 11.
>> 11. How?
>> Yo yo >> the last ones I've scored.
>> How many question?
>> It should be 11 if I add three. JB, how many?
>> 11.
>> Yeah. 13.
>> Oh, >> exactly. You see, >> show winner. We >> got a winner and a lose over there.
>> Forget a winner.
>> Winner on Bank.
>> Bang.
>> Bangu.
>> Exactly.
>> Don't worry, >> bro. I see I see your tattoo. Yeah. I think we're done with this. Yeah. What What does BHIM mean?
>> It's bless his imperial majesty.
>> I see that's that's the name of your concert as well.
>> Beam. Yeah.
>> Cold. How you feeling for that?
>> Yeah, man. Amazing. is is is set to be some something historic.
>> Tickets?
>> Yes.
>> Come on.
>> Yes. I got tickets for >> Are we backstage with you or we just with the people then?
>> Oh, you you I think it's it's the >> Hold on. Chat to me.
>> When you're in the crowd, there's a different feeling when when you are backstage. You're just with us. We are just working. Fair enough. I want to be.
>> So, it depends on Are you Are you my wife? You want to be >> You want to be with me at this time. at this time of >> come and be with me.
>> I heard that you're the first Ghanaian to to to do that. Um >> yes, as it is happening like this.
Amazing.
>> As far as I as far as I I I I know. But I think uh >> um um the composers have done OVO because they live here and they're a band. But in terms of a solo artist, I I believe that >> it is something that I am daring and trying to put Ghana on like that. So >> why do you think now now is the right time? Yeah man, now should be the right time because it's been a long time coming as well >> and uh I believe that uh u for nothing at all our fellow brothers Nigerians have actually pushed the envelope you know all these years and if it's if it's nothing short of inspiring we should also see the need to and one of the um um signals that got to me was some years ago like three or four years when I was performing with the O2 to >> bro when we dropped activate the roar that came out of the crowd has always made me know that okay the crowd is there but we have to bring them out as well for the Ghana situation therefore >> all of the shows that I've done in London prior to this one have been great have been like sold out have been you know amazing so we believe that this time is the best time to bring the beam fest over because the beam fest has been going on for like 10 years in Ghana >> I mean the last three ones we did or the last two one was in the stadium 60k cap at the stadium and it was massive. So >> crazy we we we just want 12k out of that globally to show up and then I'm sure >> that's it. And it's going to be Storm War and Friends basically, you know, cuz the BIM fest actually brings over Jamaican artist, Nigerian artist. It just celebrates music of black origin, >> you know. So yeah, that's what is going to be happening.
>> Speaking about um what's the connection between Ghana and Jamaica? We've seen some some of your lingo, you know, you have some ling you have some Jamaican lingo in there, you know.
>> Um what's >> If I didn't know any better, I think you're from there >> for real. Yes. People thought so. But um >> most importantly, as uh as black as we are, we we know that you cannot be black and come from any other continent but Africa. I I stand to be corrected with all these um theories that are going on elsewhere to suit people's narratives. I also trust that once you're black, you come from the motherland and therefore however we have our people here and over there and everywhere. So, uh the cultural influence is also very evident whereas growing up as an artist or as somebody who loves music, I would I would get drawn to regga music a lot and dance on music. remember those are the type of music that you'll find mostly in the hood growing up and of course high life music is the mother of it all for as far as I'm concerned. So it's like having high life on your on your motherboard and then your influence is actually attracting other inspirations of black music which would be reggae dance or you know what I'm saying and that's how I formed my my niche of afro dancers. when you go look into it, stone boy is known as a young pioneer of that word and that style called afro dance.
You know, I I would give credit to the legends that have come after us like from people like the two faces cuz when I pick a typical two-faced song, >> all I hear is Afro Dancer basically, but it was not probably named like that around that time. It's just like African music has been roaming and touring until we said Afro beats.
>> There's no name.
>> So this this Afro dancel now is the one that captures the energies of the African music that comes with some dancel energy and regga flavor.
>> Yeah. But besides your actual music though, like it seems like with other Ghanaians, besides yourself, there seems to be a strong correlation between Ghanaians and Jamaican culture. Like >> where But like why do you think that is?
Why do Ghanaians why are there so many Ghanaians that like connect with Jamaica? Like it's you don't connect with Jamaica more than anyone else from what we see.
>> I I think simply put because we are one people.
>> Simply put, we're one people. And then the passage of time would also have it that many would come from Ghana. And when you see the nan of the maroon is traced to be a Ghanaian. She's a freedom fighter for Jamaica. She led one of the wars that would would would bring you know she won. And when you go check Jamaica right now and not only Jamaica within the Caribbean, you see the Quamina, the Cojo, the Quus, you know, so these are all indigenous Ghanaian names that you can't put to any other tribe. And these are Ashanti and Akan names that are coming from out of Ghana.
So you realize that there's a there's a straight link between Jamaicans and Ghanaian. You just have to study the history or just read it and I think information is there. So that's why I said simply put we are literally one people you know coming from Africa to the rest of the world you know so you have some people from Nigeria Benin it's it's it's it's a whole from Congo >> you know so one people is all I can use to describe that that's why we connect to one another's music that much especially Ghana >> makes sense to Jamaica >> second to Jamaica >> yes yes a few times performed there a few times rece Rebel Salute, you know, all of those ones.
>> Verified and vouched.
>> You know, we was playing the um game.
Yeah. And we had the football question.
I just wanted to get your Do you watch football?
>> Yeah.
>> No, I do watch, but I'm not that football. I would definitely say I'm not that type of guy who can know about what Arsenal is doing tomorrow, which team they have changed, who is going to play and be a a stat like a tactician or statistician. I I >> you don't support a club.
>> I I love my African players in any team, especially Magana ones. But as for that type of support that would make you go gaga, >> my question for you was going to be naturally we always argue about Messi and Ronaldo like we're split down the middle on the podcast about who's better. The rest of the world knows anyway. Not going to give that away to you. But I was I was going to ask you who you think's better, but if you don't watch >> No, I don't mind. But for that conversation, everybody has an opinion.
>> What's your opinion on it? Messi and Ronaldo. H my opinion is that these two giants are >> POLITICIANS >> politicians giants. But let's be very honest.
>> Okay.
>> If Messi is the goat, >> right? Cuz I stated my stance first before I'm I'm sharing my opinion. Do you think that makes sad a lesser player?
>> Like really? And if Sir Ronaldo is a goat, does that make Messi a lesser player? Look at this.
>> Who do you think is better though? It don't mean Okay, I get your point. good players.
>> It's relative because football is a sport that is like in it. It's a talent.
It's like art.
>> You have your time.
>> It's like an art and you have you see the way me my all-time favorite amongst the two is Ronaldino.
>> Okay.
>> So, everybody has how the art appeals to you.
>> Yeah. But your favorite mean your favorite doesn't mean who's the best.
Like so when I ask you who the two and what you're saying is true. Both are goats. Both will be remembered and both are obviously very good players. But the question I'm asking for you is cuz they they're debated on who is better. But you're right. It seems If it was Ronaldo against the two of them, I would choose Ronaldino. That's that's mine. Then I can know what >> Ronaldo isn't there.
>> Exactly. So >> So can we get an answer?
>> But but but you see before we get an answer, let's use the statistics. No, to be very honest, we can't just say it off of emotions and feelings then everybody will be right in their own ways. What makes one best?
>> What makes one best? And I've told you guys this is a sport. This is an innate and it's relative that must be accepted and acknowledged. now to come and say best remember that I'm in a I'm in a I'm I'm in an industry that is also relative and people can choose this over that and it's there so that's why I'm speaking my truth of what it is cuz speaking like a you know so let me just go back there now we have to check who has won the most who that's what we can use to judge else what are we judging for when it is an art that is relative to >> who has won the most out of them >> exactly the most like what >> trophies me is exactly so me I'll go for Messi But he scored the most goals because Ronald scored more goals over his career.
>> Okay. So for you people scoring goals with his laces though on the line >> in terms of >> he be barging his player out the way and tapping it in goes a goal.
>> I just want to ask a question. I just want to ask a question. You know let's say there are 10 boxes.
>> 10 what? Sorry boxes. Boxes >> to take for both of them. Who has ticked >> the most box?
>> Messi ticked most of the box.
>> So let's go for Messi.
>> What are the boxes though? Yeah.
BECAUSE NOW THE BOXES BECOME SUBJECTIVE.
NO, THE BOXES CANNOT BE SUBJECTIVE. THE BOXES CANNOT BE SUBJECTIVE.
The boxes can be let's say goals, trophies, number of world cups, assist.
So let's call my honor. You guys must have done that. You guys must have done that.
>> So who actually got the world's done it for us already to be fair.
>> Who who has that the most?
>> Messi.
I didn't hear all the boxes.
>> Exactly. I don't know.
>> I'm just saying like you guys bum, bro.
>> So if you want, bro.
>> If you if you support, man, you bro, calm, bro. Bro, you can't bro.
Tell him not to disrespect me. We just We just had this conversation about disrespect.
Hold your friends account.
You make me You made me sick.
>> But you understand.
>> You're pathetic, bro.
>> But you understand him though.
>> Sorry. Sorry.
>> You man, we'll quickly end. We'll come off this, but >> what makes me sick about you Ronaldo?
WHAT MAKES YOU SICK TO MY STOMACH?
>> They know they're wrong.
>> What you do? You're sick. You're crazy.
>> The greatest.
>> You don't KNOW WHAT GOES ON IN my mind.
That's why I said because there must be somebody like me who doesn't really, you know. So that's why I said >> it's a sport.
>> If we if we ask footballers who let's put it down there and let's take the bosses and let's see who got the most and that's it.
>> It's split between who?
>> No. No. And who else?
>> It's split how if you not everybody is saying Messi the not we're talking about I'm talking about >> you said if you go about and ask footballers Messi.
>> I'm not talking about us cuz obviously naturally >> I'm saying footballers. If you go and ask >> Okay, one more question. What do you think would be the first thing people would think about to use to judge the two of them who the best is?
>> I think they would judge them by >> first thing probably trophies.
>> No. Do you think so?
>> Yeah.
>> Because that's the biggest I don't think that's the first thing. No, because he said statistics. If I was to argue for he's the one I brought up. If I was to argue Messi versus Ronaldo, I'm literally arguing off what I see, not off statistics.
>> Because because what you see is subjective after that. What's your subject?
>> Because what do you see that mix the same bro? Lie bro big man think you're offended. You're offending me now. You're offending me now. It's annoying bro. Everybody knows it was messy.
>> What would you say next? Unreal.
>> What would you say next after what you said?
>> Trophies after.
>> There we go.
>> Yeah. So it wasn't the first thing.
>> He said top two.
>> Nice one.
>> You got me still >> trophy. Say must be subjective still. I guess in it whatever I guess bro I've seen the documents >> end the debate for us please outside of the fan kingdom >> they all say Messi like if if WE'RE TALKING OH PLEASE JAMIE STOP PISSING ME UP YOU'RE GOING TO ANNOY me you need annoying bro you see you see the footballers you see the actual footballers the the commentators the pundits the act no I'm trying to SNOWBALL SHE CAME FROM NIGERIA, BRO. TURN THAT BACK, BRO.
The actual pundits, the footballers, all of this. U the Gary Lickers, everybody says Messi.
>> WHERE HAVE THEY WHAT INTERVIEW ARE you watching? What interviews?
Like I said, that's why cuz this is sports. We can see who has done that, who has done the most. And that's how we can judge by the best. But besides the the technicalities and the the the fact on the ground in sports everybody could be right or everybody is right because you're perspective >> but if you go into the statistic that's where we can and I'm referring this to my my my trade as well >> because somebody loves stone boy somebody don't love stone boy of course somebody got to know stone boy through this podcast somebody love me because of the way I spoke >> and that's the same way somebody love Messi for just the way he poses And just the way he doesn't talk for somebody who hates you for the fact that he doesn't talk >> the same thing that scores a point for somebody >> there's too many boxes everybody has their individual boxes >> take and that is on the personal side so that we can argue till God comes but when we come into the sport itself we should be able to now roll the papers and see who has performed at what how many times what not what not then that's how I can choose my best over there >> my favorite may not be the best when technicalities come.
>> We've as we've as we've asked CH GBT and why are you changing what it says?
>> I'm not bro. I'm chatting with bro.
>> Cool. So naturally >> and I think CH GPT would actually answer with all these indic.
I'm not going to go through all of it.
It says it's a debate. It says it's a debate >> but cool. It shows both. My honest take most football experts Messi. Most fans who love athlet athletic dominance.
Ronaldo.
>> You're right. I think it's right because football experts footballers and football experts Messi. the football is messy because because I I think I I think I think it's right and guess what it takes information from data and I think it's I can relate because when it comes to fans interact when it comes to fans interactivity and all the all the ones >> but do you know what it is Messi >> and Messi is not like that >> Messi actually >> Messi would not even talk >> bro he's he's like he doesn't even talk so you don't expect somebody who doesn't talk to be able to accept the Ronaldo thing from an actual footballer. You only hear it from wastemen, bro.
>> Waistmen. 20 26 40 years old.
>> Anyway, anyway, >> he's got some.
>> You know what I mean?
>> I think he found out something.
>> Maybe, but they're not going to find out.
>> That's episode 291.
>> 291.
>> Wait, wait, wait, wait. Before you go through, I want to ask if you wanted to, >> let's say you had to invite someone to join us on the podcast, who would you like to see >> from anywhere around the world? Anywhere around the world. I would love for you guys to have a chat with uh is it an artist or anyone?
