This comparison provides a sharp sociological lens into the tension between Japan’s ritualized commitment and France’s emphasis on spontaneous emotional chemistry. It effectively illustrates how distinct cultural frameworks dictate the very architecture of modern intimacy.

Dating in France vs Japan | The Biggest DifferencesAdded:
Bonjour. Hi, my name is Kiko and I'm a Japanese model in Paris. Guys, look at him.
Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. Guys, in this video we are going to be talking about you guys favorite topic, dating again.
Dating in France versus Japan. The biggest differences.
Let's get into the video. As most of you know, I lived in both countries, France and Japan, and dating in both countries feel completely different. Not that I have a lot of experience dating in Japan as I spend a majority of my time in France as an adult, but I am Japanese and I hear a lot of things about dating in Japan. So today I thought why not make a video so that you guys can compare difference between dating in France and Japan. So there are about five points I would love to cover in this video and the first thing is about fast move. Who approaches first? In both countries men tend to approach first but how they do it is very different. In France I would say eye contact is very important. Also they approach more directly and they also do it in a natural way as in they do it in daily life. Also a lot of compliments and conversations are very playful. Whereas in Japan it's more subtle and interest is shown indirectly and especially group settings matter more like you can find a lot of reality TV shows on Netflix about this in Japan. I mean there's a lot of what they call goong or group dating so that you can trust your personel more based on opinions of other people and also people can be a little bit more shy about direct confession and also reading the air is considered as important.
Number two, communication. In France, I would say it's quite spontaneous and casual but confident and direct communication is more normal. In Japan, lying culture is huge in comparison to WhatsApp culture in France. Also, from what I know, faster replies can matter more and indirect messages are quite common. So, they are harder to lead. So when I listen to my female friends who are dating Japanese guys, sometimes they are second guessing because they don't want to over ask or something. Whereas in France, if that was the case, maybe woman would ask men directly so that she'll get the answer she needs or something. But yeah, so that's definitely a difference between dating in France and Japan. Number three, expectations. In France, dating can start very casually, whereas in Japan, confession culture like kokuhaku is so huge, guys. I think I've talked about it in my video a few years ago. This culture can never go away because it's that important in the Japanese culture.
And relationship status can be more defined early because they care so much about relationship status as in France level can come after. So that's a total difference between dating in France and Japan.
Number four, Roman style. In France, it's passionate, charming, floating.
There are certain gestures that maybe wouldn't happen in Japan, such as speaking on my own experience, there were times where I went to a restaurant with my friend in Paris and when I tried to pay, somebody already paid or you know when I order a drink, somebody pays and you know that kind of thing directly happens in France. You know, it's very quick and it's passionate, charming, floating. It happens right there. Right now in Japan, act of service is so important. Consistency matters. Not just kind of love bombing, but actually the action has to be very consistent.
Grandio gesture is I say like con gesture is not as big on the surface level but he will care more I guess like by lighting a very meaningful love letter or he will send you a long love message or good morning good night you know very consistent texting that's kind of what I hear and that's kind of how they show romance so I think these are very different romance styles in my opinion and I am curious which one do you guys prefer. Let me know in the comments. Last but not least, let's talk about green frogs. As much as people talk about red fox, I actually prefer to talk about green fox like what's actually good in life than like what's actually wrong. I mean, it's important to focus on what's wrong sometimes as well. Yes, let's talk about green fox.
Green frogs in France are like confident, respectful and honest communication also emotional openness. I think it's very important no matter how busy he is like you know you always have space for each other to communicate better and communicate openly and I would say in Japan green frogs would be like liability consistency and also quite support and effort which is like a luxury and this is what I personally respect about my dad and my sister's husband they are quitely supportive and they are consistent and I find it almost invisible but the support is consistently there and I think that's such a beautiful thing at the same time for me direct communication and honest communication is very important and I'm sure some of you also value that so I think there are a lot of green facts in French dating and I have a lot of respect and honestly I wish um you know in Japan like people communicated a little bit more directly because then you know a lot of women wouldn't have to second guessess and for fans I would say like maybe direct communication is great but maybe the way you say it is something to be um kind of considerate a little bit more because when you want to share something with somebody such as your partner like the way you phrase it I do think it matters because if you say something quite aggressive like you cannot take that moment woman back. This is why I personally value emotional intelligence. If more people worked on their emotional intelligence and their communication styles, like the world would be even a better place and stuff.
Anyway, it's not really related, but I hope you guys enjoy this video and let me know what you think of this video. Do you agree with me or disagree with me?
