Sealed, a privacy-focused communication platform built on Algorand, implements a serverless messenger architecture that delivers complete privacy by default through encrypted messaging, post-quantum security using MLAM standards, and alias chat technology that prevents correlation of communication patterns. The platform uses wallet addresses for anonymous login, creates transactions on the Algorand network for each message, and employs sub-wallet derivation that changes every 50 messages to prevent tracking, representing a significant advancement in decentralized communication infrastructure that prioritizes user privacy over convenience.

Algorand Community Call May 2026Added:
Heat. Hey, heat. Hey, heat.
Wow.
Wow.
Hey guys, um welcome to the May 2026 Algrand community call and we have a really good one today. We're going to go through the latest happenings in the ecosystem and we're joined by a special guest um which is going to be sealed and they can tell you more about what they're building on Algrand. Um my name is Muel. I'm head of social at the Algran Foundation and I'm joined by my glamorous co-star.
>> Hey, what's up? I'm Joseph. um the head of product marketing over at the Agram Foundation.
>> You may know him as Lo Pickle as well.
Kind of a legend around these sides as well. Um I'm just Muel. I'd need a free bench warning soon. But um yeah, as I said, we've got a really cool roundup of what's happening in the ecosystem. And we're joined by two special guests from Sealed, one of the most exciting teams building on Algran at the moment.
Awesome. So, we're going to kick off with some Algran news that you may have seen over the last month. It's been a really busy month um with lots of cool stuff happening across the ecosystem followed by some stuff on X42 Xchain and then our special guest Sealed will be on stage to show what they've been coding and then we're going to do a Q&A. So if you have any questions feel free to ask them and we'll um answer these at the end of the call as well.
So you may have seen last month Algam was in the news again for postquantum cryptography implementations. This time being recognized by Coinbase in uh you know landmark report that was released.
This came off the back of the Google report and it's great to see such you know industry leaders recognizing Algrand's you know postquantum cryptography and obviously following the merger with Algrand technologies as well. We now have Chris as our CSO who's, you know, one of the, you know, premier, you know, talents in cryptography, especially postquantum cryptography. So, we've got some exciting updates on the state of quantum security on algorithm coming for you in June. So, we'll be sharing more on that and teasing you a bit more on that as well. And the impact of this was pretty positive. Our share of voice amongst layer 1 blockchains increased to 0.25% which is relative to our 0.05% market share. Um, so lots of people talking about Argentin and that's good for us and you kind of saw the effect of that in the market as well.
Uh, listing update uh when Robin Hood Robin Hood last week um Robin Hood is now available for US users. That's over 27 million users across the US who now have access to our grand Robin Hood.
Obviously this was already available in the EU. whoever we're waiting for this in the US and it's just one of the many you know important updates that's occurred since we've moved to the US as well. So that's been a great move for us and for the ecosystem and as I mentioned it's now available to every single US user in every state including New York partnership update as well. So, Algram was added to the JVCA EA green list in Japan and that's overseen by Japan's FSA which is their, you know, financial regulator and it governs banks, insurers and stock exchanges. And what this actually means is the Algrand is now on a list of cryptos that are approved for fasttrack listings. So, when exchanges in Japan, centralized, decentralized, want to list Algrand, they can do so without having, you know, extra regulation. And that's just, you know, something great that's happened over in Asia. Um, which is a huge market. I think some of our biggest holders and exchanges are actually in the region as well.
And another great partnership update was from Algamon project hyper cube. Um you may know them for their work with the water token. Um it's one of the you know first water token systems that you've seen on you know a blockchain and it's fortunately on Algrand as well. So the UK's first ever blockchain verified water credit system was actually implemented using HyperQ which leverages Algrand's technology. It's already been implemented in countries such as Portugal, Italy, um some other ones which we can't mention yet as well. And YTL UK serves almost, you know, 3 million people in the UK in the uh southern part of the country. And this team are really exciting. They recently did an interview with All in Crypto and Genfinity as well. So check those out and find out what they're building and they've got some really great updates soon with some of the biggest, you know, governments and countries in the world as well.
Another one was from Hessa. Hessa had an amazing year in 2025 and 2026 is shaping up to be even bigger. The UNCDF and UNDP partnered to launch Afghanistan's first digital micro finance solution. That means you know loan applications, Sharia compliant dispersements and repayments all settling instantly on Algrand and you know as I mentioned 2025 they distributed over $30 million in aid and processed 50 million transactions on Algrand and also expanded to Syria as well. So, we're really excited about Hessa Pay, what they're doing, the future of, you know, what they're doing.
And one of the great things is a lot of these big institutions and governments are starting to recognize, you know, the utility of, you know, hesipate and starting to get behind it as well.
And al media, there were quite a few cool media appearances. Um, CEO Stacy Warden spoke at the Council on Foreign Relations. Um, that was behind closed doors, but it was a really great, you know, talk um with some really high level speakers and attendees and attendants. Um, we're also recognized, as I mentioned, for the Coinbase report that talked about Algrand's post crypto postquantum crypto implementations. And on top of that, Chris did a really great interview um, which you can check out. He's been doing a lot of media recently, and he's, as I said, one of the greatest minds in the world when it comes to um, post quantum implementations. Mark also did a state of align 2020 interview with Genfinity.
So, check that out if you haven't. And we received uh some media attention for Hyper Cub's work in implementing the UK's first blockchain water reuse credit system as well.
>> And on to my glamorous assistant, Lo Pickle.
>> Hey everybody. Uh just going to give you some updates on X42. So if you aren't familiar what X42 is, it's a standard that was developed by Coinbase that allows for aic protocols to come in and be able to get your API. And you know, this is going to be really important for the future of the internet in general.
If you've been following along with how these search engines and how people have changed the way that they search, everything goes through an agent first.
So instead of just getting classic SEO results, the Google agent will, you know, skim websites and, you know, be able to read the information on your website without giving you the page views and traffics that had originally monetized your site and made your site sustainable. So what X42 does is it adds a layer on top of that. So you can have your APIs for these agents, but in return you get compensated using stable coins on chain. So I'm g we're going to go through um you know Algorand is now a first class citizen X42. So like we said that Coinbase had originally um come up with this standard and we were merged into the repository. So we are fully integrated with the Coinbase X42 and a AI agents and apps can transa can transact programmatically using Algoran now. Um and Algarand is supported across all the X42 facilitators, demo pages and official packages and this helps bring the payments directly to the internet layer. So it's really huge news for us.
It's really huge for the way that everything is changing and how we're moving forward and you know with this new shift towards agents having all the infrastructure in place and having Algarand be as easily accessible as possible is extremely important for the future.
Um, so if you're interested in learning more about X42, we actually have an upcoming workshop that's uh going to be hosted on June 3rd at 6 PM CS C EST. Uh, so if you're joining on this workshop, you can learn how to build programmable payment flows on Algrand using X42. You can explore use cases such as paid APIs, agentic payments, and machine-to-achine transactions. And you build a payment gated API, an automated X42 payment client. So, if you have any information that's worth sharing and you want to be compensated for it, X42 is your friend.
So, join us in this workshop. And in addition to that, on June 6th to 7th, we're actually going to be hosting an X42 hackathon. There's up to $20,000 in prizes. So, if you're interested, join the workshop to find out more information and uh you know, get building.
In addition to that, we also launched Xchain accounts in the month of May. So Xchain accounts are extremely powerful feature that uh use Algarand uh logic signatures in order to basically link an EVM wallet uh to an Algarand account automatically. So this is really great for people that are already building in the Algarand ecosystem because now you can add support for EVM networks without actually adding the EVM networks for support. Uh what this does essentially is you log in with your MetaMask wallet, you sign a message and that message basically allows MetaMask to communicate with the algorithm chain and control it.
So uh we we started with Alpha Arcade as our first implementation. So if you go on Alpha Arcade, you can now see the option to connect your EVM wallet. So this works for Rabi, MetaMask, Coinbase wallet or any other EVM wallet that's in the ecosystem. Connect it. It creates an algorithm account for you automatically.
Then you fund that account using the built-in bridge that's in the in the website and from there you can use any algorith well in this instance alpha arcade uh using your EVM wallet. So it skips having to remember a new set of cphrase. It skips having to um you know have another wallet to manage and it really makes everything so much easier for the end user that doesn't want to um you know go through the whole onboarding process for trying out a new chain. So we're working on getting this fully out to any DAP that is that wants to have this feature but it really makes building on Algoran that much easier.
Passing it back over to Muel for the ecosystem.
>> Awesome. Thank you. We're going to do some ecosystem highlights and then we're going to go to our special guest from Seal as well. So these are some things you may have seen across the ecosystem.
As mentioned previously, Algo was added to the JBCA green list in Japan. Cited by Coinbase as a leader in the post quantum cryptography realm as well.
Hyperq becoming, you know, the facilitator for the UK's first ever water credit system with YTL UK Xchain being launched featuring Alpha Arcade.
We hit an all-time high in decentralization with two billion states and 80.5% of consensus share being held by the community. X42 is now available through all facilitators on Algrand.
Shared accounts launched on Alrand as well.
Oh, back now. Um, shared accounts launched on Algrand as well, which is a really great feature from the PAR team.
Also, um, Travala integrated Algrand and Algran native USDC payments into their car rental service and 1.5 million ALGO was paid out to Alran builders through the XGV program, uh, which is really great to see so many, you know, Alan Native builders being supported with some of the great stuff they're building as well. So, head to X to kind of check out everything that they've been building. We wrote out a nice little thread so you can see and support these builders as well.
Awesome. And now we're going to head to our special guests from Sealed. Um I'm not going to spoil anything, but guys, would you like to take it away? Feel free to intro yourselves and then go through the slides.
>> Uh hello everyone. Can you can you hear me well?
>> Yeah. My name is Igger Makovki and this is Dominic Stamping. Uh you can see him now. Uh we are co-founders of seal and thanks of thanks a lot to Algarand Foundation for having us today. Uh we are happy to be here with you and be able to speak a bit about privacy and communication and why available apps fail to deliver this part in our opinion. So um I want to explore with you guys more about what sealed actually is. So our goal was to create a new standard in privacy. So we designed seal to deliver complete privacy for everyone by default. It means a fully encrypted messenger but not only a messenger uh communication infrastructure at a full scale. So everything is encrypted as a standard and will not be able to be decrypted with the use of future technologies. But let me tell you something more about it in a moment.
Let's first dive into the problem. Uh can you please go to Oh, thank you guys.
So um let me ask you a simple question. How much is your privacy worth? Because so far we pay a very big price for it. We don't pay for it with money. We pay for it with our data that we expose at many steps in the internet. So every single day the web three industry moves billions of dollars. Yet we use broken web two tools to communicate about those funds. We live in an illusion that signal or telegram are safe because they have end to end decryption. However, that's a lie. Encryption only hides what you say. But the decentralized servers of this corporation are still collecting your metadata. They know who you talk to, at what time, how often, and from even where. For big tech analytical algorithms and hackers, this metadata is all they need to pro profile you or execute an attack. We are decentralizing finance, but our communication is still sitting in corporate pockets. And how is it handled right now? Actually in today approach of handling communication there is a various of ways to to breach our privacy. It starts at the very beginning of creating an account. We have to use phone number which links to our identity. Some apps use E2 encryption but most of them don't do it by default.
So the messages are stored at servers of big companies at risk of exposure at any time. So after all we also leave the metadata along the way.
So uh we can move to next slide.
Why sealed?
This is exactly why we built it. But how do we keep it sealed? It is the world's first truly serverless messenger built without central servers and ready for the quantum computing times. We don't collect IPs. We don't build relationship graphs. We don't require your phone number. We have zero database to be breached. First of all, blockchain saves us from using a critical infrastructure nor servers on which we would have to store the data. You log to your account with wallet address which keeps you anonymous and every message creates attraction on Algorant network. The message is encrypted using the private and public key and we keep it even more secure encrypting post quantum with MLAM standard. Even though the messages are sent on blockchain sealed doesn't expose who you are talking to. And this is the the part that is more technical. So I would like Dominic to step in the the head of every technical aspect here and explain a bit more.
>> Sure. So now the mic parties um usually if you send a message from one it's >> yeah just skip to the slide for for a little more longer. Um currently when you want to communicate with someone you use uh another person's uh wallet address in Apple address because we generate the wallets in the app. Um after that the message is uh encrypted and sent through our smart contract that also works like a mixer for various messages around our network. So from the uh third party point of view when the volume is high enough it's even impossible to create the correlation of two people talking to each other but what's our tech technical crown jewel currently uh the best technology is an alias chat which bit more complex but also is way more private than even our current approach which is still a a biggest standard these days I hope uh when it comes to alias chat, you have two ways to start a communication. The first one is to send an invitation to another wallet, which looks the same on chain as a common send message. So there is no way to even notice who invites who. But the most important part and the better way is to exchange keys offline and after that even your device don't see who's the receivers's wallet. So even if someone will for example have gone and try to um abuse you about opening the app showing the the interface there is no need to find out who's the receiver because of these two keys exchanged there is no need to see the of the receiver and this way you just need to set up an alias that's why it's called an alias chat and that's our more important product uh current in current stage uh in the future when we go to the mainet on 17th of June it will be quite similar when it comes to the uh to the technical work of sending messages but after that we also want to implement and derivation of the wallet in your own app that you use for communication instead the ID let's say so the wallet that you use for common communication and for using credits and you to derive a sub wallet in your app and this sub wallet changes uh every let's say 50 50 messages you send. So so from the uh blockchain point of view you don't send messages from your main wallet anymore.
But these wallets change on time every time you send messages. But from your point of view and the from the receivers's point of view, the conversation looks the same. Um, moreover, if you will try to uh delay the data or just remove the app, these keys of alias chat just go disappear and they are not backup by blockchain by itself like we have in common messages.
So that's why we consider chat as the the most private way possible for today's communication. Um yeah I hope that's that's clear and eager the mak is again yours.
>> Thanks. So I think that's good summary for for the technical part how we do it. we can we can move to the last slide and I'll tell you a bit more about where we are now and where where we heading. So uh as of now we are preparing for a mainet launch for 17 of June uh 17th. So the app will be live uh this date the app going to be available in a paper message settlement. However we are planning to sponsor the gas at the beginning of our way. So we are happy to invite everyone to our discord where we going to provide with calls for messaging within the app uh for free.
What we are working to implement next in our road map is group chats P2P communication sending attachments and voice voice calls. Uh, I would like you to I would like to invite you to scan the QR code that goes to our website seal channel partners where you can sign up for for using the app when it's going to be live.
And for now, uh, I would just like to sum up that it's time to stop compromising between convenience and privacy. Uh I invite both users to to both users individual and business to to do ecosystem projects and uh and take part in uh testing still.
I think what's also worth mentioning um if I may add uh are our long-term plans which are uh slightly more developed uh after creating the the common appendary basis like telegram or WhatsApp or any different uh tool to communicate we also want to create around seal and our solution a workflow similar to slack or asana that will provide you as a business owner to more uh create an envir environment which will be 100% decentralized uh with no uh back door from our side of any other. So it will be I think a huge um huge step forward when it comes to the privacy of the workflows because these days companies use like I said slack or Asana that unfortunately are centralized servers and this is kind of tradeoff because you need to trust these people these companies that they don't use this data any kind uh but the seal's approach is just to make everything clear open source open for any kind of verification so that people are sure that we don't say we just created the >> so privacy by design >> exactly >> okay I think this that's this all good good summary domin >> awesome thank you guys for a great presentation and um yeah you can head to the sealed website and channels to kind of hear more about them we're going to answer some questions now and answer some questions that you've had on the various channels and we've got a few that we've we've got already but I wanted to begin by asking um Eagle and Dominic a question you know what is it that's made you kind of want to develop this you know privacy messenger app I've personally seen a lot of instances recently with huge hacks and and you know security concerns on apps such as WhatsApp iMessage etc so what is it that's kind of pushed you to kind of create this and where do you see the demand for it as um you know we see there is there is lack in the in the industry of web 3 the the infrastructure for communication within people I think it hasn't been uh covered yet and our main goal was to allow people to to to introduce them to some space where they can freely talk about whatever they want they can be anonymous and have this simple private comp conversation by by default.
>> Awesome. Thank you. Um had one question.
Is EVM available today? Joseph, would you like to take that one?
>> Yes. So um kind of the the X-chain accounts allows EVM to be available like we don't have a direct integration with EVM which is a good thing by design because if you've ever done a crosschain protocol there's a lot of maintenance that's involved whether keeping up with the chains SDKs keeping up with all the wallet change keep up with all the metadata standards. So having this X-chain account implementation makes the maintenance workload so much easier for anybody that's building on Algrand because you don't need to worry about that stuff anymore. The the logic SIG that we developed with this feature does all that stuff for you so you don't have to worry about it.
>> Awesome. Thank you. Uh one question we had we we've seen this one a few times but um when will King safety paper be published? Um on that one, you know, the the the infamous King Safety paper. Um so we had a proposal and we went to our board. Um as you know, we've had a new board in place recently and it's an amazing board full of some, you know, real industry, you know, titans and they gave us some feedback on a proposal we put forth to them. Um from that we've started to add you know our changes into that paper and the next step will be for it to go to the EAC which is the ecosystem advisory council with some of the you know uh most OG builders in you know the Algrand ecosystem and once we get final feedback from them um we'll implement that feedback into the paper and that'll be published to the community as well. So hopefully that answers your question, but just yeah going through all the right channels and ensuring that people in the community actually have a say in this before it's kind of published. And just as a reminder, it's not a definitive plan. It is a paper that the community would have to vote on for it to be kind of implemented as well.
Awesome.
Any other questions? This has been a good but quick call as well. Um so let us know if you have any more questions.
We can answer those. If not, um, we can wrap things up.
>> In terms of in terms of Phillip, I do remember the addicting game website.
That was one of my favorite websites back in the day. I miss it dearly.
Having one of those flash games at our disposal was so fun.
>> We had we had not a question from Cloudy Videos 344. Algo is the future. We totally agree and uh where the future's headed at the moment. Um, we're seeing a lot of focus on agentic commerce and quantum security as well. And it's been great to be recognized by industry leaders such as Google, Coinbase for our quantum security implementations. And we have something really cool coming next month that you're going to really love.
Um, that's going to show why we've already been leading, you know, the space in terms of postquantum cryptography, but we're going to show you how we're going to take that to the next level as well. So, yeah, algo is the future indeed. And unless we have any more questions, oh, good idea for sealed as well. Awesome guys. That's that's all the that's all the feedback you guys need. A good idea for sale.
>> Yeah, that's right. Thanks.
For sure.
>> Yeah. I guess if anybody has any questions, we probably wrap this up.
>> Yeah. And if you have any more questions, head to our Discord, head to our Telegram, RX, um any channel you want and we can answer those questions there. Awesome.
All right. Thank you everybody and we'll see you in June as well.
Thank you for invitation
