Pigs are not unclean.

[00:00:00]Hey folks, it's Neil from Ankor Ranch Farm in beautiful Scio, Oregon. Uh, pigs are not unclean. Um, look, I don't eat meat on Fridays and some other days of the year as well. Uh, if you believe that God or your gods told you not to eat something, then much respect for giving that up. That is a good thing to do. But don't blame it on the animal.

[00:00:32]Pigs are not unclean at all. In fact, chickens poop in their food. Do you see any pig droppings along here? No.

[00:00:42]Because pigs do not do that. By the way, the reason I'm feeding them I've been feeding them along this stretch along the uh fence line here is this is I'm going to turn this into nursing pens later this summer. In the past, I've always had the saus uh give birth in the woods, but they tend to go real far away and um that's dangerous for the piglets.

[00:01:07]So, I want to keep them someplace where I can keep an eye on them for the first week or so. And uh look what a great job they've done at clearing out this area so I can build some nursing pens here for later. Uh but yeah, pigs are great animals. They are much cleaner than most other farm animals. Um, yes, they like to lie in the mud for the same reason that people like to go to spas and get stuff put on their skin. It feels good.

[00:01:37]It makes their skin stop itching. It keeps the sun off. That's why. But they are not unclean. They are wonderful creatures. If you don't want to eat pork or if you have a religious obligation not to eat pork, then that's great. You do you. But stop talking badly about pigs.

[00:02:02]The other uh these three sows are pregnant. Uh the boar obviously isn't.

[00:02:07]It's interesting. The other SA has already had uh several litters of pig piglets and she is not going to be rushed for anything. So, she is still sleeping back there. There will still be plenty of food left for her when she finally decides to get up and come have a snack. All right, ankorranchfarm.com.
