[00:00:15]I don't know what year it was, but it's been over 30 years. I know that. It was my grandmother, my mother, myself, and my three daughters.

[00:00:38]Well, last Thursday Well, let me back up. Um I was behind on taxes and I'm older, so I put the house in my daughter's name.

[00:00:48]And last Thursday we went to eviction court because my daughter's evicting me.

[00:00:54]Why is she evicting you all of a sudden?

[00:00:58]I let some people in here because they were homeless.

[00:01:01]They needed help.

[00:01:03]I was told about them through somebody else.

[00:01:09]And they helped me get somebody out of here that was with me that I'd been with for over a year.

[00:01:18]And he wouldn't leave.

[00:01:21]So, they got him out of here with the agreement they would get 2 months of free rent.

[00:01:26]And they came in, they got him out.

[00:01:30]They have not paid a dime rent. They eat my groceries. They do all kinds of things they shouldn't do.

[00:01:35]And my daughter doesn't like them being here and I don't either.

[00:01:41]And she put an eviction notice on them.

[00:01:46]And I looked at the paperwork that evening and I was on the eviction notice also. So, essentially you had squatters take over your house and in that process your daughter found you to be the squatter as well.

[00:01:59]Yeah, which I'm not a squatter cuz I've been here for over 30 years. And it's my house.

[00:02:04]That you gave her because you owed back taxes. Yeah.

[00:02:08]And now, what was the plan originally with your daughter?

[00:02:12]I was going to sell this house. She was going to sell her house in Leander, her and her husband and two grandkids.

[00:02:19]And we were all going to move onto property in the Hill Country.

[00:02:23]And I'd be in my own house on the property, they'd be on their in their own house.

[00:02:29]And now it's turned into I'm being evicted and I guess I'm going under a bridge.

[00:02:34]So, that's where you think you're going.

[00:02:36]Do you don't have any sort of process in place with the with the case worker or anything like that?

[00:02:41]I have two case workers and I'm not able to find any housing because of the lists are too long and it's a very short notice. I didn't know I was getting evicted till the last minute.

[00:02:57]And they they can't find They haven't found a a place that's adequate for you.

[00:03:02]No. Cuz you've also have some underlying health issues.

[00:03:12]Uh Yeah, kidney I'm stage four kidney failure.

[00:03:23]I have lots of things in this house I have to get out of here. There's no way I can get all this out of here in that amount of time. I'm going to have to rent a storage locker to put stuff in.

[00:03:33]And I'm on a very limited income and I can't just jump up and rent something. I don't have a vehicle anymore cuz of somebody that hit me on North Lamar that totaled my car.

[00:03:44]And I didn't get anything for it from the insurance company.

[00:03:48]They deemed it as a 50/50 at fault, which I've never heard of before and the guy didn't even have a license.

[00:03:55]So, here I am, no car, getting evicted, no place to go.

[00:04:04]And what kind of assistance do you have right now?

[00:04:09]Well, I have I'm on Social Security disability.

[00:04:14]I have SNAP, a whole $24. I couldn't believe that's like a slap in the face.

[00:04:29]That I can't believe she's doing this to me.

[00:04:46]I mean, she has a good job. She's a nurse.

[00:04:48]Her husband runs a very expensive apartment complex.

[00:04:52]He's head of housekeeping and maintenance.

[00:04:55]He also gets a check from the government for partial disability for money was in the military.

[00:05:01]They have two kids. One of them is in college. He goes for free cuz dad used to be in the military.

[00:05:06]He graduated valedictorian from his school last year.

[00:05:12]And I'm getting evicted.

[00:05:25]He's trying to fix some things and I feel more safe with him here cuz the people that are here, I don't trust them.

[00:06:15]I had to get help with my electric bill cuz nobody here pays a dime to be here.

[00:06:20]They steal my stuff. They're one of them's vindictive and he breaks my stuff or hides it or something. I don't know.

[00:06:56]So, you're living on a fixed income with squatters in your own house taking all your stuff and all your food.

[00:07:45]I signed up for Metro Access. I go at the end of the month to go under their service, but I know you got to jump through hoops cuz they actively don't want you on the service.

[00:07:58]I signed up for driver senior. I'm like between 100 and 200 on the list.

[00:08:05]So, I signed up with the Parks and Rec.

[00:08:09]And they're very limited. Do you feel that the system that you paid into your entire life has abandoned you now? Yeah.

[00:09:43]Before court last week. We went to court on Thursday and Yep. So, just waiting for the constable to come this week and say, "Get out. Put your stuff on the curb." Whatever.

[00:10:00]Yeah, I drove a cab for 26 years.

[00:10:03]And I have people that would probably ride with me again.

[00:10:13]So, you're saying you can maybe create more income for yourself if you if you were to get a car? Yes.

[00:11:00]Except I've never been in this kind of situation, ever. Never ever have I been without a car.

[00:11:17]And the person that was in my house wrecked one of them. He was drunk, totaled it.

[00:11:24]And the other one, the man on Lamar, hit me with no license, and he totaled it.

[00:11:29]So, now I have no no vehicles at all.

[00:11:42]I was in the hospital recently with pneumonia.

[00:11:46]So, now I have some more medical bills cuz they don't pay all of them, even though I'm on Medicare. All of them aren't paid. So, I have more medical bills.

[00:12:04]Yeah, from Lyft.

[00:12:07]They uh took my car.

[00:12:10]I was driving for them for about 5 and 1/2 months.

[00:12:13]And according to Flexdrive, who I was leasing the car from, you're supposed to be able to buy that car after a certain amount of time.

[00:12:26]But they have an algorithm to where you don't make money.

[00:12:29]So, I didn't make any money driving for them.

[00:12:33]And they came and got the car from where I went to the emergency clinic place when they took me to the hospital cuz I Well, I fell outside of there cuz they wouldn't even see me. They said, "Go to hospital."

[00:12:46]Like, okay. I went outside, I fell next to the car.

[00:12:51]And I ended up in the hospital and then in rehab for a few days. They towed the car.

[00:12:56]They illegally took money out of my checking account without my permission.

[00:13:02]One month they took over 800, and the next month they took over 1,200 out of my checking account.

[00:13:07]That's a felony. So, I'm starting to work with the police try to get my money back.

[00:13:14]Cuz it left me with basically no money.

[00:13:20]So, they're crooks.

[00:13:23]Flexdrive, who works with Lyft, are crooks.

[00:13:31]There's other drivers that I think are going after them.

[00:13:36]And they need to go I think they changed things to where they hide from you. I've gotten paperwork in the mail stating, "You need to redo your warranty."

[00:13:53]Other paperwork on insurance, I don't own the car. Why am I getting that?

[00:17:12]My uncle was a cop. I'm all for cops, but lately, I don't know. They've been to this house numerous times now because of these people here.
