ANSWERING TMI GIRL TALK QUESTIONS BC I'M UR INTERNET BIG SIS追加:
I knew that I was not putting in [music] that tampon right, because it hurt so bad. Just like pull it a little bit, that's the pain.
>> [music] >> Hi besties, welcome back to another TMI girl talk with your brutally honest best friend Shar. It is so good to be back. I had to take a week off last week because I was so sick. I don't know if you guys can hear it in my voice. I am just coming down from it. I genuinely miss you guys so much. Like these videos give me life and talking to you all and helping you give me life. Today's video we are going to touch on so many topics from your kitty, from waxing, from shaving, from makeup, from bras and underwear. I don't even know where to start. But let's just get on into it because there is no time to waste. Make sure to like and subscribe so you do not miss a girl talk and follow me on my other platforms because I give some really great advice on there as well.
Question number one, does eating onions make it smell down there? The answer is no. What affects down there is your overall diet, how much water you're drinking. Some foods that maybe make you sweat more or produce more body odor could indirectly affect what it smells like down there. So just make sure you're eating your fruits and vegetables and you're drinking your water. How do you know that you put a tampon in right?
When I was younger and I had to wear a tampon for the first time because I remember the first time I ever had to wear a tampon it was because I was going to swim lessons and I got my period. I knew that I was not putting in that tampon right, because it hurt so bad. It should not feel uncomfortable and you shouldn't actually like feel it in there. A tampon is designed to feel like you don't have anything in there. It shouldn't really bother you. It shouldn't be like it's sliding out. For the most part a lot of people don't put it in far enough, which is why you feel it so much and you can feel it sliding out. At least that was my issue. I know so many of us worry if we put it in too far in. With tampons we have the string designed to be able to pull it out. So as long as you're able to feel the string and pull it out, you don't have it in too far. Can tampons be used at night? Technically they can be, but I would advise on not wearing it at night because of toxic shock syndrome. That is when bacteria goes through the bloodstream and it affects your body.
And this can lead to organ failure and cardiovascular shock and you have to go to the hospital immediately. And I know that sounds very scary and it is extreme, [music] but it is also a risk, you know, and I just would not want to risk it personally. And the reason why this would happen is if you leave the tampon in for longer than 8 hours, because 8 hours is the recommendation.
Honestly 8 hours is cutting it a little bit too long. I try to leave it in only for 4 hours max. When you're asleep, it's hard to like keep track of that and change it and wake up in the middle of the night. So personally I would just go for pads. Is it normal if I haven't had my period in a month and I'm a virgin by the way. This can be completely normal as long as it's not your consistent cycle. It could even be multiple times out the year where my period will be super late and sometimes that's because I'm either super stressed, it's because I'm really sick. Just like this past week when I got sick, I was supposed to get my period that week. I didn't get it. And usually my period will come a few weeks later. The longest my period has not come because I was sick [music] was probably a month. But if it consistently is irregular throughout the year, that could be something to look out for. That's why it's really important to make sure you have some sort of app that tracks your period so you know when your period is supposed to come and you can look throughout the year and see like okay, my period is pretty regular. Is it okay to shave your kitty when you're on your period?
Technically yes, but I wouldn't recommend it because when you're on your period, it is very sensitive in that area. Especially if you're someone who wears pads, that area is going to be super dried out and it's not going to be easy [music] to shave. And it's recommended whenever you shave or wax to not wear anything that's going to rub against the skin because that's going to cause the ingrown. So I don't know about you, but I prefer not having those things, so I would just usually skip it and wait until my period is over. How to remove period blood stains? I'm a great person to ask because trust me, I've had to remove so much stains from everywhere. Like the key thing is you have to act right away because if you let it sit, it's going to set and really stain the area. But typically if you try to clean it off right away, you can get it off immediately. Even on your white sheets, even on the white couch. What I would usually do is just get cold water.
Cold is the key because hot water can set the blood. I'll get cold water, I'll get like a napkin or a sponge and I'll get dish soap and I'll put it on there and I'll scrub it. I'll let the dish soap sit sometimes, but usually as long as you just scrub it, it's okay. What does waxing feel like? I love this question. You guys know that I always choose to go get waxed. I don't really ever shave myself down there. Waxing just cleans it 100% off. You don't have to worry about it. It's really hard to describe the feeling. I mean if you have hair down there or you have hair anywhere, just like pull it a little bit and kind of that's the pain.
But it doesn't last long, that's the thing. When you do a full waxing session, it's maybe 15 minutes. It's usually not that long. So yes, there is pain, but the pain is literally very quick and then you're done. Whenever I'm lying there, I always just kind of like hold my breath and like focus on something else. For me personally, it doesn't hurt so bad that I'm like screaming and crying. Like I can take it. If you want to try it out, I would definitely recommend making sure that the [music] area is trimmed. And afterwards it gets a lot better if you're consistently going like every month because every month you're going to have less hair. Can you be allergic to makeup? You can also be allergic to skin care, the lash glue you use, the makeup remover you use. Anything you put on your face and your body, you can be allergic to. They can have fragrance, they can have so many of these different ingredients that you could possibly be allergic to and you would never know. I remember I went all throughout high school and college just putting on makeup products and skin care products on my face not realizing I have sensitive skin and constantly wondering, why does my face itch and burn after I use like all my products and like remove my makeup and wash my face? And it's because you're allergic, girl. You're allergic. The worst case that I ever had was when I was using a lash serum. It's called GrandeLASH and I woke up with the craziest [music] rash on my face. Like my entire face was so itchy. There's actually a literal news article about it because I guess a lot of people experienced [music] the same thing. Some other signs that may mean that you are allergic to a makeup product is [music] if you see like tiny little bumps on your face, your skin starts flaking and feeling really dry.
So I always try to strive for products with no fragrance and just clean beauty brands. How to choose the right bra and underwear for different clothing? I try to buy like a certain style of bra and underwear for every type of clothing just so I can have it. The main bras that I will buy is like a regular bra, buy a seamless bra, I'll buy a nude bra, sticky bras, nipple covers. A lot of my backless dresses I will just wear a sticky bra. There are certain styles where I feel like showing the bra a little bit is really cute too, so that's why I will also invest in cute [music] bras like Victoria's Secret. Underrated, but Japan has such cute bras and just like intimate wear as well. So I bought a lot of my bras from there. For underwear I will always buy a seamless underwear, neutral nude underwear, regular underwear and boy shorts. How do you find a good gynecologist? I personally think the best way is through word of mouth, through friends.
Obviously this can be hard if your friends around you have not been to a gynecologist before or you have different insurance. When I was looking for a gynecologist in LA, I asked so many people. I literally posted on my story and got so many girls like DMing me, which was really nice. Because it's just good to know that someone else had a good experience. How to be a good kisser if you've never kissed before?
[music] It's just practice. Like practice makes perfect. I'm not going to lie, like I used to watch those videos as well, like how to kiss on YouTube.
Videos can be helpful and get you a little bit more comfortable. It's not going to be the same thing as when you're actually out in the field doing it. You're not going to be able to ride a bike unless you practice, you know? If you're like about to have your first kiss and you're like, "Oh my god, I'm not going to be good. I'm scared." It is what it is. What are the tips for finding a boyfriend? Putting yourself out there is the number one thing. If you want to have a boyfriend, you need to talk to people. You need to like get a dating app or something. Not saying dating apps are always going to work. I do think like dating apps helps you get the experience and go on dates more.
Even if the date didn't go that well, at least you got out of your comfort zone.
At least you talked to someone. At least you experienced something. So then you know what to look out for. And a lot of people always ask me like, "Shirley, how are you able to find such a healthy relationship?" It's truly because I went on so many dates. I talked to so many guys when I was in college and a [clears throat] lot of them failed. I mean obviously all of them failed because I'm not with any of them now.
There's a lot of lessons that I learned through those experiences. And even though there's a lot of heartbreak, like it allowed me to be where I am today.
What helped you through long distance?
If you didn't already know, my boyfriend and I were long distance for one full year when we first started dating. I think the biggest thing that helped was just constantly planning when we were going to see each other [music] next. So the times when I wouldn't see him, I would be able to just do my thing, you know, call him every night, hang out with friends. So just having that reassurance of like this is when we're going to see each other. Also knowing like when the long distance was going to end made me feel very secure. How to move on from fake friends? It's honestly learning how to be grateful for your own life and being your own best friend. And I know that sounds like I don't know, that sounds probably like really cliche. [music] We all like long for connection. We are imagining this life that we want rather than appreciating this life that we already have. The reason why it's hard to let go and detach yourself from that friendship probably because of the connection you built with this person and also just like imagining the life with friends. Other than being appreciative that you left that toxic situation, I know that being in the actual friendship was not all that, okay? You are probably romanticizing it in your head. When I was in those fake friendships, like I was silent, I was never never happy. Like I always wanted to go home. What is your biggest fear when it comes to relationships?
Personally for me now, because I have built so much security in my relationship, I don't really have any fears. I would say before I healed myself and when I was an anxious person, my biggest fear was constantly that we were going to break up and specifically that we would break up because of something that I would do. Like if I said something and it made them think like, "Oh, she's so crazy. Like I don't want to be with her." or when I was anxious and I would show my anxiety, like they would be like very turned off by that. The only way I got over that was by continuously communicating how I feel, proving to myself that I can be anxious and I can communicate that and still be in a relationship. Like my partner will not leave me just because I communicated how I felt. Actually, from my experience, it has always been the opposite. Like when I held in my feelings, that is when my relationships would fall apart. Okay, and the final question is what are some things girls should expect when they're in their 20s? There are so many things.
I mean, your 20s are crazy. I'm only 24, so I feel like I still have so much of my 20s left to understand and learn from. In terms of like what I learned in my 20s when I was in college, there are just so many challenges and so many mistakes you're going to go through that you are going to have to learn from.
Your early 20s is really when you start making decisions for yourself and I feel like a lot of my beliefs that I used to have in my early 20s, I changed because of just what I've learned and the mistakes that I've made. It's also important to not linger on mistakes as well because it's very easy to make a mistake and you put yourself down for it and you feel embarrassed about those mistakes. Mistakes are mistakes. I mean, we all go through them and in order to fully grow, you have to move on past your mistakes. Acknowledge them, learn from them, and move on. I would also say that girls in their 20s should expect a lot of lifestyle changes because like I said, you're making choices for yourself. be someone who's going to college for the first time. So, what's really important as well is to understand what keeps you grounded on the day-to-day, what your typical routine looks like that makes you feel good. So, even when your life changes, when you move to different places, when you're doing different jobs, you still have that routine that can keep you grounded and make you feel sane and feel good. I really hope you all enjoyed this girl talk. I really enjoyed making it.
Make sure to comment if you have any other questions [clears throat] you want me to answer in the next girl talk because I read all those and I will see you all next week at the same time. Bye.
