NORTH CAROLINA HOOD TOUR: CHARLOTTE'S MOST DANGEROUSAdded:
Charlotte is a place that really don't play. Like people think this like one of them place you could just come to and just freelance around here, but you got to know somebody that know somebody to really move how you want to around here.
You feel what I'm saying? North Charlotte, you know, it's trenches. Like it's a lot of pain and agon When that [ __ ] walk a couple of [ __ ] ain't blow ain't no weird as [ __ ] always weird lot of folk straight kicking the better I do this shook me trying to get out his hands I [ __ ] I got jumped by 142 play the original Y. Like I'm trying to tell you original.
Yeah, don't come. We going to chase you out here.
You can't even trust us.
>> Hey, look a crack. Everything >> club.
>> So, as y'all can see, we are right back in good old North Carolina. And if y'all been locked in to subscribe like y'all should be, then y'all know we've already been here several times, exploring various neighborhoods and learning a bit more about the street culture here in North Carolina. However, we have yet to hit good old Charlotte, North Carolina.
And y'all might be thinking, "Yeah, that's because there ain't going on there." I can understand why y'all think that. Because while things look nice and calm and serene and peaceful and super gentrified like every other major city across the US on the surface, trust me when I say that below that is a real undercurrent of some real deal going on.
>> Police brutality, harassment from the police, gentrification, >> they raise the taxes on the house like on the land and so it forced the people to have to sell their house and they raised the property tax. died behind this in real life. I got jumped by 14. I got a little brother who died at 14. He knew what the he wanted in life, [ __ ] I seen them take that [ __ ] away from him. This whole sidewalk was filled with my blood. Have y'all ever got stabbed a day in y'all like that? I ain't know that it was going to hurt that bad.
>> I'm talking some [ __ ] up occurrences indeed. So today we linking up with upand cominging artist Pop Trim and Company so we can take a closer look at what's going on beneath the seemingly perfect surface and learn a bit more about what it's like to come up in the unforgiving and treacherous streets of Charlotte, North Carolina. Lego.
We in North Charlotte feed me. I'm from Tuck though from the west. We live in the F. You already know.
>> Free spin, free CG.
>> It's a community for real. It's not a side of town. For real. We call North Charlotte, but we not the north side. We like more like toward uptown type [ __ ] You feel me? If y'all heard like Freddy P, he'll say Earl Village like >> Earl Village to the mother I enterainment out the pop [ __ ] record. Be looking for me. I'm coming very soon.
>> You don't know about Village. You a weak ass. You ain't from the city. F.
>> You ain't from the city. I'm from f home chuck tell >> that's basically down the street though >> it's north Charlotte then it's goddamn you know it's trenches you feel me like but in the new generation like they broke this [ __ ] to where it's like bro he from tuck I'm from North Charlotte you feel me like but we locked in like them like really like family you feel me >> okay like from the north to the west >> yeah one of the first alliances like it's a whole lot of bros you feel me just from different spots and just you know linked up on some brother like >> always suspect that we never evict free retro over here. This was like always like one of them neighborhoods that was unified. It's like far as like being in just your community doing in your community. I'm going to say this one them type everybody know everybody type you feel me? So tight community looking out for everyone for sure. Some of the kind of struggles coming up over >> police brutality harassment from the police.
Gentrification, you know, they they the banks forcing people out there like people moving over here and calling the police on us.
>> Yeah. They gentrified this [ __ ] So you feel me? Like >> bro is saying banks are kind of forcing people out. What's that process? They raised the taxes on the house like on the land and so it forced the people to have to sell their house. They raised the property tax made it to where you can't afford it cuz they know they're financially low >> because if you look you see it's a city line right here from this house the side of the house you can see the city line.
So it's like a $600,000 like you feel me? Like close to a million dollar worth of land for real.
For real cuz it's so close to uptown like it's like walking distance.
>> This prime real estate right here. Yeah, for sure.
>> For sure. Pop doing some legendary, you feel me? He doing what OG is supposed to be doing. He moving around, you feel me?
Staying consistent, staying solid, you feel me? Just shedding light to where people trying to hide certain like this is a hidden gem over here. You feel what I'm saying? Like trim that, you know, come and show love and goddamn what we got going on. We got it going on.
>> In a city, you get way more hate than love. majority of time. But he's so hard. There some artists in the city that's so hard that you can hate him, >> but you still is him on and off of the beat. You feel what I'm saying? He doing legendary so you know it's big love from us. Listen to me though.
Yo, when I walk on it, I know a couple of [ __ ] ain't blow ain't no proig, you know. I like brown like to [ __ ] I'm trying to get on some other cuz the streets this don't matter. Everything going to get handled and stepped on still but it don't matter.
>> We're talking about hate though. Is that a big common theme in this city?
>> Definitely.
It be fake hate. You get what I'm saying? People that grew up that know like bro like ain't going to tell you about what we got going on which is a lot of great that come from you feel me?
Like our campaign the people feel me?
It's a lot of mother who or a lot of people who don't know the history of Charlotte for real. If you know the history, even if we from odd sides of town, you got respect for, you know what I'm saying, certain rappers from certain areas because we still here. We be over girls too. We all been there before when when trying to beef over girls and stuff like that.
>> More jealous too cuz we got that real wave. Like we ain't got we don't got to fake it for no and none of that. Like we really raw.
>> That's what a lot of these we doing. And then I'm going to speak on this [ __ ] too, gang. Like stop spreading rumor about me gang. You feel me? Only that one little happened. That's a little scratch. You feel me? Don't ever in your [ __ ] life say that you ever did anything to me though. You never did [ __ ] And it's a lot of in the city who keep saying they did something to me and they song never did.
>> We like You ever seen 300? We like 300.
>> The rest of the city is Spartans.
>> But you know 300 go hard cuz every single one of them train to go.
>> That's why they don't with us cuz they can't be a part of us. You feel me? be mad that we do [ __ ] that they can't take.
>> And we know how to wear our a little different, you feel me? Like we ain't walk around with our head down, we got our head up. We got missions we got to complete. Five that's dead, that's fed, you feel me? We still got to keep the train going for sure. I'm the producer for the North Charlotte. Being from Charlotte, we don't really have too many like artists that blew up like mainstream. The baby really on some real The Baby is the only only artist from Charlotte that made it mainstream.
Another thing too, Charlotte is like overshadow overshadowed by Atlanta cuz Atlanta the next biggest >> city.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. For sure. For sure.
Music wise. Charlotte, we been supposed to blow but it's like crabs in the barrel.
>> Weird as always weird.
>> We all trying to get out this soul. Weak as hell, but we standing.
>> It don't matter. It don't matter. Just in the grand scheme of things. We trying to find positive. We trying to get positive going. a lot of bad publicity rumors. Yeah. You feel me?
>> Right. It's like working in sharp fall.
It don't last >> for the city growing like population wise because I remember when the city wasn't even at like a million people.
The eyes is going to be on us. We just got to know what to do with it.
>> A whole lot of fit. No [ __ ] Straight kicking do a better hot [ __ ] No cap.
And look real getting money around this [ __ ] [ __ ] This ain't for play. This ain't for fun. You get your ass put on a noob about this [ __ ] Everybody around me all my we business man for real. My [ __ ] make jewelry >> black entrepreneur a lot of designs.
>> I do detail cleaning on cars.
>> My artist I got a lot of artist out here. A lot of ventures. Straight pain.
CLT.
>> Country club deal worth place and where the money at. I'm at detail clean.
>> Yeah. Yeah. I really going to start called Skup details or gone in 60sec details. We come and goddamn do your [ __ ] Get the out of me. Spy on Instagram. Go get that merch. Real business man, dog. Real business man.
For real. LC gang. Ain't got no LLC. You can't hang big LLC. You ain't got no LLC. You can't rock with me. No cap.
Charlotte. What people don't know that Charlotte is a place that really don't play. Like people think this like one of them place you could just come to and just, you know, just freelance around here. But you got to know somebody that know somebody to really move how you want to around here. You feel what I'm saying? Charlotte is like a island. My biggest goal is to get the about this and everybody cool with me and not fake it.
>> Take that [ __ ] serious >> cuz this real like and it's like it's a lot of pain and agony that come from all this.
>> This do get hard and you got to let them.
>> You got to make sense. If I'm going to go through all this pain, I might as well let everybody else hear this.
A lot of we learned in life is just lesson not lost to the next thing.
>> Yeah.
>> So yeah and nothing no regrets because that's that's what make us who we is today. We done been through you feel me?
Like >> I'm on the south right now with ain't got no >> boom. So after we left up out of the north side of Charlotte, we made our way out west where pop trim and the guys hopped off the porch for real. More specifically, we mobbed over to Tuckiji, aka the Tuck, home of the infamous Chopper game.
This the best smoke shop in the whole city on the west side. This the best smoke shop on Tuck now though. We ain't in the F. We on Tuck. Come here. And I know these pass on smile up in their face on set. Yeah.
Took a CG. Yeah, we on set right now.
How this go. We on the west side with it. It ain't the best side cuz it a whole bunch of going on out here. But it's the best with my [ __ ] Baby Black >> in the smoke shop.
Y >> got my J calling >> man FA bro it's Fred the whole T wave man like we've been thugging since we was like 13 14 years old like doing all type of that you wouldn't even think ain't nobody I ain't going to cap this spot is legendary I ain't do this long ago cuz all this new me from right here real been going on you see this right here this on my face die behind this real life like 1 2 3 4 imagine how many hit the floor behind them same four about this uh apartment and this section man we did a lot of in this section from 14 no really 12 13 to now like I'm 20 now like I'm tough gang from Bradford to tuck it start from the top from Puget to the high school all the way down. It's a long ass street.
>> Did you go to the high school?
>> Oh yeah, I went to West Man. I got jumped by 14 because he was trying to serve at West Met. You still on tough.
You still on the block. You cannot wear slides. You cannot serve. No pins, no weed, no nothing in that school and you not from the hood.
>> You can't >> and you can't fly or we going to snatch that [ __ ] merch. But it's like we took that [ __ ] down in the bathroom cuz he was serving in the hood cuz he was still on the block even though we was in school. Next thing I know I got jumped by hella [ __ ] You feel me?
>> 14 of them.
>> I mean I seen 14 but it's like I stole off a couple. I got jumped. So it's like it don't matter no more.
>> Either way it go I was going to win that cuz who you playing with? And some [ __ ] happened after that. A couple years later and they thought I forgot cuz I ain't after that. But you feel me?
Happens. [ __ ] happens out here in these streets. And you might get drunk. You might win some. You might lose some. You feel me? But you literally see another day and do something to a dumb ass boy.
You feel me?
>> How does this side where we're at right now different from where we were just at the north? Like >> over here is way different because I can't put everybody on the camera cuz it be real life that's going on. It's like even though we still trying to be positive, it's still [ __ ] surrounding all this [ __ ] I'm a good person, but I be on sometimes because I have to. If I don't, it'll cost me or mother I love. So sometimes you you got to go first. I can't really say too much, but yeah. Only burgundy flags over here, man.
>> Burgundy flags. I don't like this >> real rooster [ __ ] >> Okay. And it's been that way since as far back as you can remember.
>> It been that way since before I was this way. But I'm actually in the hood on top on the west side.
