Progesterone creams do not substitute for progesterone capsules if you are also on an estrogen

[00:00:00]Progesterone is now hard to get.

[00:00:03]The progesterone 100 mg capsules I'm having a few patients tell me that they can't find it. If that happens to you and you're on an estrogen, you can't go to a progesterone cream. That's not out of endometrial protection while you're on an estrogen. So in this instance for my patients who are having trouble I've had them sort of look around and I think they found other pharmacies and we've been okay. But if you get to the point where you really can't find anywhere and hopefully we don't get there.

[00:00:28]Talk to your provider about compounding that progesterone into a capsule. Compounding is great for needing the in this sort of instance where we don't have anything commercially available anymore.

[00:00:41]I just had to do a change order on prescription for a 200 mg progesterone to two 100s from CVS. So I just I hope this doesn't get that bad.

[00:00:51]But yeah, I talked about with the estrogen, you can go from a patch to a gel. It's not the same if you like the gel the patch, but um compounding, don't forget about compounding. So don't go without because this puppy helps you sleep and you need it for an endometrial protection.
