The ONLY place in the US to experience THIS Chinese festival!!!Added:
WHERE IS JACK OFF TO? This time, Jack's off to Marysville's Chinatown to check OUT BOMB DAY. BOMB DAY IS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE BOK Kai [music] Festival, one of the oldest Chinese celebrations in the US. During the firing of the bomb ceremony, giant firecrackers are set off, shooting up small good fortune rings into the air, where participants brutally scramble to catch these rings.
If you're able to snatch one of [music] these lucky rings, you will have immense good luck for the coming year. If you didn't catch one, you'll just have to rely on good old strong work ethic. Mhm.
Marysville is the last place in the US that still performs this ritual, making this one of the most unique Chinese traditions in the country.
