In EVE Online's economy, the alpha account system (where new players can train to 5 million ISK for free) has been exploited by established players creating hundreds of accounts to extract large skill injectors for free Omega, causing prices to drop to 740 million ISK; this abuse creates negative impressions for new players while allowing established players to generate trillions in profit, demonstrating how game mechanics can be exploited to create economic imbalances that disadvantage new players and require developer intervention to maintain fair market conditions.

Skill Injector Crash - The Oz Report (Jun 19th, 2026)
Added:All right, this is the Aussie port for June 19th, 2026.
We didn't have it last week for Blaster Boy content, but we're back this week and I want to start just like before on the overall market volume that we that we had. Market volume was around 152 trillion in the forge last week. If we compare that to 2 weeks ago to the last Aussie port, that's higher 11%.
And if we take Plex and Plex adjacent items out, we're at about 90 trillion, which is also up about 10 to 11%.
Generally, I would say that is very good, but in the meantime, we've had the Cradle of War expansion drop, which I would just have expected a little bit more of an uptick in terms of market trading out of it. Yes, we didn't have the massive sales going on that we've had before, but still, you know, 150 trillion for the week after an expansion, it's it's okay. It's nothing to write home about.
I do want to mention two items here in the highly in the highest traded item category that aren't usually there. So, one is the War Path operational intel.
This is the event item, the event currency that was was traded a lot in the last weeks for the event that the War Path event that ended.
Total trade volume 1.3 trillion, not bad, pretty good. That puts it on number four of the top 10 highest traded items in in EVE Online. And the other one is at number 10, the capital disintegrator specialization. This is the This is the tech two trig dread weapon skill that is still selling for about 2.7, 2.8 billion ISK and the total trade volume is 466 billion traded last week and one reason I mentioned it because there was a lot of criticism around this item because it's it comes from Pochven. It's formed heavily in Pochven and a lot of people are complaining about all this volume market volume going into the pockets of some already richest players in EVE Online because they're part of the Pochven, let's call them multi-boxing cartels and so there's a lot of controversy around this skill book right now in in EVE and it's it makes the top 10 highest traded items of the last week.
Let's look at PLEX and PLEX adjacent items really quickly and for that we're going to jump into the game client.
Let's start with PLEX.
So PLEX this week has gone down a bit.
This isn't surprising because we have a 25% PLEX sale going on. So currently PLEX on the buy side about 4.46 million on the sell side about 4.6 million. That is down about 4% in the last week. So that's you know, that's to be expected, nothing special but you know, it's it's in it's in very cheap territory if we're looking at at the year.
Uh there's only been one time one or two times this year is where it's it's been trading lower than than now. More interesting is what's going on with large skill injectors because we're looking at large skill injectors, current sell price 740 million in in Jita. That is very cheap and look at this drop right here. What happened here?
I'll tell you what happened.
We have 7 days free Omega with the expansion. Again, this is I think about I don't know, the fourth expansion in a row where the CSM, including me, have told CCP to fix this, or Fenris, before you make this into a drinking game again.
Because this is a problem where thousands of accounts get trained up to the 5 million uh threshold alpha accounts for free uh with just the effort of a lot whole lot of clicking and creating a whole lot of accounts. And then when they get 7 days free Omega, or the other offer that was going around, the 7 days Omega for 25 Plex, that gives them a week of Omega, which is just enough to extract a large skill injector and make about 600 million ISK profit.
And this way, you know, trillions are made with uh alpha abuse essentially. Um an abuse of the system that would be fairly easy to stop, but you know, Fenris has decided not to stop this yet. And so that is why you're seeing very cheap skill injectors. And the the the bad thing about this is not necessarily the the cheap skill injectors, because okay, so it's it's free it's it's, you know, cheaper cheaper skill points for everyone else. That's that's not a bad thing.
The bad thing is that it just looks very bad on paper, right? Um it it looks bad for new players joining to hear on Reddit about players creating, you know, a whole bunch of uh uh hundreds or maybe even thousands of accounts. If you look at my Discord server, there's people posting on there that themselves have done this for thousands of accounts. That is obviously not the intended way that the game is uh is is or that the alpha system is for, and it is something where again the richest or you know, most established players that game the system are making the trillions and not new players or not anyone in between.
And that's not a good look for EVE Online, and that's why I am absolutely against that, and I think Fenris should fix it as soon as possible.
Extractors on the other hand, they went up in price as you might expect because injectors get created by skill extractors. The reason The reason this didn't go up as much is because anyone that is, you know, crazy enough or smart enough or insane to uh to do all that skill farming and and and skill extraction will have probably already stocked up on skill extractors and has skill extractors up to their ears uh from the April uh you know, Plex together sale that we had on skill extractors. So, that is why those probably aren't jumping as much as they are. What did jump this week is surprisingly hypercores, so they are now uh recovering rather rather quickly. It took them quite a while, but the past 2 weeks have been uh pretty pretty steep, so up 11% this week. And then one more thing, and that is cerebral accelerators. I want to talk about those cuz we all often talk about them on on here.
That market has completely normalized now because the there's no event cerebral accelerators right now. So, it's one of those rare periods where we have only the boost cerebral accelerators in the New Eden Store that you buy with Plex and the Master at Arms cerebral accelerators, and then the skill injectors as the comparison. And so, overall you know, if you're under 50 million, it probably still makes a lot of sense to just use skill injectors because it's instantly uh but overall, we have basically parity between the booster cerebral accelerators and the master arm cerebral accelerators. Uh so right now it doesn't really matter what you do. Buy Plex and then booster cerebral accelerators or just buy master arm cerebral accelerators on the market, which is finally uh a a reason for master arm cerebral accelerators to recover a little bit.
They've gone through a tough time and everyone recruiting new players, which is including me, uh has has been, you know, losing a lot of money on their on their stash of cerebral accelerators, which is fine because those are typically not the people needing a lot of ISK.
All right.
What else is going on?
Uh What's trending up this week is the ship of the week, for sure, is the Brutix Navy Issue. Look at this.
So, uh if there was a popular fleet ship this week, it was definitely the Brutix Navy Issue about 4 or 5 days ago, uh we saw a a big a big spike in them. And so, if you can resupply the market on those, that would be fantastic because the market is running running low and prices are spiking. So, right now very good time to have a look at the Brutix Navy Issue.
Speaking of low supply, there are some things that are some especially uh faction modules that are that are running very low. So, for one, the Caldari Navy Ballistic Control System, uh there's 0.1 or 0.2 trade days left here.
Uh very few. Um so, if you can trade in for those, that's a good opportunity.
And the other one is the Republic Fleet Gyro Stabilizer. Look at that. None left in Jita right now. None left.
Prices um price spiked and then they were gone.
And so if you can resupply those, it's probably also a a good time to do that.
Uh the other thing that is very short in demand is raging gamma filaments. So uh tier four um shield abyssals and they are, you know, these are cyclical because they are I I I say this frequently on the show. There are different videos that come out or different fits that make the rounds and then people jump on that fit and and start running them. So love trading in these gamma filaments uh and in in any of the filaments and right now the filament of the week is the raging gamma filament. It's running very low in Jita and the current price about what, 14 million. So if you have those, definitely sell them right now. Resupply that market and if you're running the raging gammas, maybe it's time to run different ones.
Um Yeah, and then let's talk quickly about the the faction bastion modules because if you look at the items that were trading at high volume this week compared to yearly average, then these are obviously in these lists as you see here. But that's, you know, uh easily because uh they are quite new. Yeah? Uh they were uh part of the warpath event a couple of weeks ago and if you're looking at the prices of them, then you can see that they, as all items, were introduced and they were very expensive in the beginning and then as people started trading in their tokens for these, the prices dropped. We saw a low point in on around the 1st of June and then the event ended right about here and that's when the prices started rising again because it's not as easy or it's impossible to replenish them since then and so this might be something to keep an eye out if you want to invest in some larger high volume high value item that that were cheap because of the event.
All right.
I think that's it for today's Aussie port. We're going to return to the regular
