Geographic isolation can result in extremely limited contact with outsiders, as demonstrated by a remote island village where the last white person was seen in 1992, and a 20-year-old resident had not encountered a white person in real life for approximately 15 years.

Visiting a remote island villageAjouté :
I just spent about an hour and a half in St. Cecilia's Church in a little village.
And there was a 14-year-old girl whispering to a 20-year-old girl.
And I told her, "You don't have to whisper. I don't understand a word you're saying."
And even though she didn't understand a word that I was saying, uh the uh the uh facial expressions and laughter that I portrayed came across.
Uh the 20-year-old told me she was telling me that you're the first white person she's ever seen in real life.
Uh the 20-year-old had seen white people or a white person anyway in uh years ago, many years ago in a uh like 15 years ago.
Or she thinks she did anyway in uh in in the city.
I asked the older guy over there, who was about 50 years old, and he said the last time there was a white person in our village was in 1992.
