I'm back.
I got a little a bit more charge on my phone.
Um, so my name is D and I talk about digital marketing and digital products. If you do not know, if you're new here, if you're just finding me on YouTube and maybe wondering who I am, that's who I am. My name is D and I talk to single moms who have a handmade business um and are posting consistently but not seeing any sales.
Um I do want to let you know sis is not you.
It's not the algorithm. It's not the economy. It is your positioning. Okay.
So, we are going to talk about positioning today. Okay. All right. Are you ready?
Um, first I want to talk a little bit about my story.
Again, my name is D. I have a bracelet or jewelry brand that I have been trying to, let's just say, get off the ground for a few years.
Um, thinking so slow.
So, I've been doing bracelets. So, I've been making bracelets um for about 10 plus years and I just was never successful ever, ever, ever, ever. Um I would post on my social media.
I would put the products and put a price and hope for the best. I would hope, excuse me, that someone will essentially purchase my products. They never did.
They never did. And it wasn't because I wasn't good enough. It wasn't because my products was trash or they weren't they weren't cute. It was because I didn't know positioning what that meant. Okay.
Um, and when I learned positioning my first launch, real launch, cuz I didn't even launch my products. I just posted.
Okay. Um, so when I launched, when I learned the strategies in launching my products, I gained sales in that first week. Okay. So again, I had been trying to sell these bracelets for years and was unable to.
Um, so yeah. So I just want to talk about that today. Um, I did give you a little bit of a background of my story, um, my business and things like that.
So, we want to talk about positioning.
And I have a three-step method that I go by, I talk about um here lately.
If you are a woman or a single mom in business and you have been struggling with sales, you might want to listen up.
You might want to get a notebook and pencil and write some of these down.
It's only three. It's only three steps um to you know you start seeing sales or consistent sale or even if you haven't made any sales maybe your first sale or two or three. Okay.
So I have what I call the IOD method.
Okay. And it is identity, emotional outcome, and direction. So, three simple steps that you would need to take in order for you to start gaining sales with your um with your business. Okay. So, we are going to talk about again positioning. And what positioning is is how you make your product feel.
Um how you make your product feel like for a specific person. Okay?
So you want to make your product feel like your product is for that specific person. You don't want to talk be too general and talk to everybody. you want to talk to a specific person. Okay, that is one thing that I did not learn until recently. Um, and I know a lot of small business owners may not know that. They may people may feel like in general if you niche down or if you're talking to one person that they're going to miss you they're going to miss out on all this money and all this opportunity opportunities which it's the quite opposite. So if you don't niche down, if you don't talk to one specific I'm sorry, words are hard sometimes. um one specific person then you talk to absolutely no one. No one is going to buy. Just like for me for instance when I was on Facebook posting my products and just posting them, not giving a caption, just posting the product and putting the price or I might say shop here or something like that. It was very very generic. Okay. When you do that, you're talking to no one. So, no one is essentially gonna buy. Okay. So, I do want to preface that. So, again, we have a three-step system. So, if you have been not doing good with making sales or you feel like you've been showing up consistently every day, posting, posting, posting. Hello. How are you? Um, and so I talk to moms. I talk to moms about digital marketing and digital products. I talk about marketing your um product based business.
Oh, okay. From Okay.
Oh, cool. Okay. So, I'm in the US. I'm in Missouri in the US.
So, but yeah. So, I do talk to moms again um about how to go from just posting online to actually making sales.
Okay. So, that's what I talk about um talk about digital marketing and also digital products.
So um if if you're a mom and if you're interested I you can you can um certainly stay in the lives and learn about positioning. Okay.
So again I have a three simple a simple three-step method and it's IOD method.
My IOD method and that is identity emotional outcome and direction. Okay.
So, for the eye, for the identity part of it, you want to know who your product is for because again, if you don't know who your product is for, then you just talking to everybody. And we don't want to talk to everybody because when you talk to everybody, you talk to nobody.
Okay? And then that is um messing with your your moola, right?
And we don't want that. We want to make the moola. We want to make the money, right?
So, you're not just talking to a woman.
You're not just talking to a mom. You're not just talking to a makeup lover or a bracelet lover. You are talking to a specific type of person. And so, I'll give you an example. Um, you could be talking to a tired mom rebuilding her confidence. You see how that's more specific than just a mom?
Okay. Um, you can also be talking to a single mom. Um, I'm sorry, a single woman stepping in stepping into her soft girl era. Okay.
Instead of just talking to a woman, you're going to be talking to a single woman who is ready to step into her.
She's tired of the hustle and bustle and she's just ready to just relax and step into her soft girl era, right? Or you could be talking to an entrepreneur that is done playing small and she's just she's just ready to, you know, I I don't want to say get it out the mud, but she's ready to, you know, put all of her energy into her business and step her game up. Okay, so that is the identity part. Again, we want to talk to a specific person. And again, that I always mix that word up.
Uh um a specific person could be a single mom. It could be a single mom again that's trying to rebuild her confidence.
It could be a single woman that is ready to um get into her soft girl era or it could be a business woman or entrepreneur that is ready to stop playing small. So that is the identity part. Again, we want to identify who we are talking to. We can't just be talking to everybody or just a broad general um person if that makes sense. Okay.
Um or a group, not person, a group. So for the E, I'm sorry for the O, so we did the I which is identity. The O is for The O is for emotional outcome. Okay. So, we have the I which is identity. Who are you talking to?
I don't have a WhatsApp.
That's not what that is. I don't have a WhatsApp. Sorry. Um anyway, emotional outcome is the O. So how does she feel after buying? You want to ask yourself how does how would she feel or how does she feel after she buys your products? Okay, how does she feel? You know, these are things that you want to ask. Does she feel confident? Does she feel put together? Does she feel seen? Does she feel powerful? How does this person, how does this one person feel after she buys your products? Okay, that is very important. Um because she's not just trying to buy or she's not just buying your product. Okay, she's buying a feeling. She's buying a transformation. She wants a transformation. Okay, that is what she's buying.
Um and so that is the O in my method. So we have identity which who are we talking to? We have the O which is the emotional outcome. And then we have the last um the third one is D which is direction.
Where are you sending her to? Okay.
Where are you directing her? What are you directing her to do? Um, so basically a CTA, a call to action. So what does she do next? What is she supposed to do next? So after she sees your content, after she, you know, likes or whatever, she's interested, what what are you telling her to do next? Okay. Are you telling her to comment um a word to purchase? Or are you telling her to DM? Are you telling her to click a link? Are you telling her that here's the drop um the launch, whatever. What are you telling her to do? Okay? because when you tell her when you give her a direction, then she's more um likely to convert into a sale. Okay. So again, we have that IOD method. We always want this is what positioning is. you want to make her um feel seen like who who is who is your product for? Okay. So, for example, um I'll give Rihanna the her Fenty. Rihanna has a of course everybody everyone knows Rihanna has a makeup line and it's called Fenty. So she we're going to break down my method my IOD method um with B Rihanna's Bana with Rihanna's brand. Okay. So um the I in which is identity remember we're going to identify who our person is. So in with the Fenty brand, Rihanna essentially talks to the woman who wants to feel seen in beauty, the woman who wants shade, inclusivity.
That is a word, right? Um she talks to the woman that is bold, confident, and unapologetic.
Okay? So it's not about her products.
It's not about her foundation. It's not about the lipstick. It's not about the blush, right? It's about how It's about who her person is. Okay. Who is she?
Um the O, which is the um emotional outcome. Sorry y'all. I I've been I had a headache, a migraine today and this bright light is really getting me.
Okay, so the second step is the O, which is the emotional outcome.
How does she feel after buying your products? Okay, so in Rihanna's case, her person feels confident. She feels unapologetic. She feels bold. She feels like that that girl. Okay. She feels like a it girl after she um puts on the makeup or whatever. So again, it's not about it's really not about the products, okay? And I I want to make you understand like whatever your product is, it's really not about your products.
Honestly, if you have a t-shirt line, um, your person really don't care if it's 100% cotton. How does it make how does her your t-shirt makes her feel at the end of the day when she puts it on?
How does it make her feel? Does it make her feel confident? Does it make her feel trendy and chic? What how does it make her feel at the end of the day?
Okay. And then next in my three-step IOD method is the D and that's direction. Again, we're talking about Rihanna. So, she might say your next step is to shop now, shop the new launch. Um, get the exclusive, you know. So again, when you have a productbased business, these are things that you really need to think about and ask yourself like who is your person?
Who is she?
Have you ever thought about that? Who is your target audience?
What does she do?
Oh my god. Sorry.
This thing is sharper.
Okay. Um, so does anybody have any questions?
Are you with me so far? Did I go too fast? cuz I can go back and um retell you the three simple steps to making your first sale because at the end of the day, every business person wants to make money, right? They want a return on their their investment. Okay?
You spent all this time and energy.
you've been spend all this money on this these products and you want a return on that and you don't want to feel like you when you're posting no one you're just invisible basically. So when you don't have a strategy in place, when you don't have positioning in place, and if you don't know marketing, then essentially you are invisible because how long have you been doing this? It took me 10 years, 10 plus years to figure that out, which is crazy.
Which is insane actually. But like I said yesterday, I honestly just thought that I could post.
I had enough people on my Facebook where surely somebody will buy my products, but that wasn't the case. And I tried. I tried for years. So if you have been um you know posting and no one is seeing and no one is buying, no one is converting um it's not your products because in all actuality we're not selling the product. You you're really selling the transformation. We're selling the transformation. How does your person feel after she buys your product? That is the main goal or that is something that is very important that you need to ask yourself.
What is her transformation after? So it doesn't have to be a bis a product based business. It could be a service based business. So just say you are eyelash tech. You do eyelashes. How does your how does your client feel once she gets up off your chair? How does she feel?
What is her transformation?
She might have came in looking like a plucked chicken, but how did she feel once she looked in the mirror and saw her eyelashes?
What type of What type of woman? She feel like that girl. She feel more confident. She feels polished.
Her face feels more structured because she has, you know, you know, those eyelashes do do the trick. And the eyebrows, okay, it does. It's a hell of a transformation.
Okay, so again, you want to ask yourself that if you want to. I can go over my method again. Also, I also want to um let you all know like if this is something that you have been struggling with, I do have a program that will help you with your positioning.
It will help you with your launch. It'll help you with your messaging. Um, it'll help you with branding cuz some people I mean if I go down um my Facebook timeline, there are just regular people like me that just post their products and and and think that that does the trick that people are going to just flock to them. No, you need a strategy. you need a freaking strategy.
So, um, but I am part of a community, an amazing community. It's a community of moms.
It's a community built by a mom for a mom. Cardi W. You know she got a new hairline. We resharing that. That's digital marketing. you basically are promoting those people products without getting paid. So, if you are Hello. If you are, you know, you might have a 9 to5, you might be starting up that business, um, you know, if you get inside the community. The great thing about it, you can resell it. That's another stream of income. So, we already at three, which are 9 to5 if you want to include that, but who wants a nineto-5? Okay.
Um and with marketing and digital marketing you are you can get or I'm sorry you can accumulate more than one or two streams of income. We need that. Who want who wants to be working at their 9 to5 when I tell you they won't my job won't see me next year and I'm banking on that like if I can set myself up the correct way within the next few months six to I'll just say six to nine months if I can set myself up correctly is gone okay she is gone on. I have my digital marketing.
I have my um jewelry brand. That's two, you know, streams of income. So, I'll be fine. I also work a part-time job. I work for my mom um when I get off of work, but that's easy money. Great salary. Easy money. Okay.
I'll be doing that until she tell me she don't need me no more. So, I'm already at, you know, we'll be at three streams of income.
So, yeah, if you are a m, especially if you're a mom and if you're a single mom, girl, you need to hop on this. You need to hop on this, get inside the community, learn positioning, learn marketing, learn branding, get that business up and running so you can start seeing consistent sales. Okay?
consistent sales and um you can also resell the course. That's another um the resell the program. That is another at 100% as of right now.

You need to learn positioning. And when you get and when you understand my method which is the IOD method the identity the emotional outcome and direction you will start seeing you know you'll start seeing a difference but you got to do it. You got to give strategies. You got to learn marketing.
There's no way that anyone should that has a business that don't know marketing or don't know how to market is you just it's it's a hobby. It's a hobby at this point at that point, you know, and you don't want unless you want it to be a hobby. Okay? If you if you find great pleasure in making whatever you're making, posting it on the internet just to get likes and comments, sis, that's good for you. But if you are someone who maybe wants to turn their hobby into income, okay, into a business, then you need to learn marketing. I I I I'm going to say that from here to Africa, okay, you need to learn marketing. Every brand, small brand, big brand is doing it does marketing.
And when you are doing it digitally, when you're doing it online, that is the best way because back in the day, people had to use the TV, they had to use billboards, they had to use the radio, and that costs money. We are in a time and age where social media is free, okay? And we can market our business on social media. What a time to be alive, right? Back then, we couldn't do that.
or you have to go door todoor or you have to make flyers and take them to businesses and you know and that still was money that you had to you know give away or not give away but you had to um words are hard anyway you know what I'm trying to say okay you had to pay to get that product to go and market yourself essentially okay so Um, do I have any questions? Again, I've had my business, my bracelet brand for many, many years. Could not make a sale. Could not make a sale. could not figure out why I couldn't make a sale.
And once I identified who my target audience was, once I um identified the emotional outcome, how will she feel or how does she feel once she gets the products? And once I gave her direction, I'm telling you, it was like, oh my god, I I learned I learned a strategy. I learned when I tell you I launched I did a pre-launch.
I was talking about it often. I was posting my content.
I was um going live talking about it, making bracelets on live as I'm just, you know, talking to my to the community or what my community or whatever and just building anticipation. Building anticipation, talking about it. Yeah, it's going to drop on September 26.
Don't don't forget or um I forget the wording the verbiage that I was saying, but I was really making hype around this brace these bracelets coming out y'all.
And when I tell you um it went live September 26th at 700 p.m. and I went live on Facebook and I was on my Shopify store and I was like whoa. It's like people it's like all kind of people on my store like they were really going around looking. It was so amazing y'all. And when I tell you I have been trying to make a sale for years. COVID came um when everybody was doing their thing, I I it just was it was not working for me. And I wish I can take a picture of my um when I was in 2020 when I was taking pictures and I was, you know, making the jewelry and then I was doing like these photo shoots. Like I took time and energy, all a lot of time and energy making them, buying the the beads, making sure they're perfect color and it matched and all of this and that.
Um, and when I tell you I will post it, I was like, "Yeah, get these um beautiful teal bracelets. It's goldfield." I don't I don't even think they were goldfield at the time. I think they were like goldplated.
And I didn't say goldplated. I think I said like gold and turquoise or gold and teal bracelets. Matte bra cuz they were matte. Matte um beaded bracelets. And the price is $35.
And that's what I put on my Facebook.
Baby crickets. Crickets. I did it a few times. Crickets. Nothing. I'm like, but when I would wear them out, people would compliment me all the time. all the time. All the time. So yeah, girl, if you don't have positioning, that was the one thing I was lacking. I ain't know who I was talking to. I ain't had no transformation story for my audience. And I did not give them well, I did I did one of my I did give them direction. DM me full price or DM me if you want to purchase cuz I had put the price on the picture or on the caption.
So yeah. Yeah. You got to do more than tell your audience about the products.
No one cares. No one cares that your just for instance that your beads are gold filled on your bracelet. No one gives a They don't care about that. They want to they want to know how is it going to make them feel once they how is your product going to make them feel after they purchase?
What's the transformation? What does that look like?
You got to tell me cuz if you don't otherwise I don't want it. What's the transformation?
Okay. And who is it for? Like who's your product for? You got to know who is it for. Who is it for?
You don't know then neither do they.

But now that I got it, I'm like, "Oh well that's what I was that's what I was missing that whole time." The whole entire time was me positioning my products or me positioning my business, but really the products, me positioning the products.
Um, but you know, you live and you learn. And I'm glad that I learned it because this is going to take me far. I can create another business, if I wanted to, um, another product based business.
I like candles, you know, I could perhaps um, launch me a candle business if I want because I know how to market now. I know how to position my products to where I'm talking to that one person to where I'm essentially telling or giving her a transformation how she'll feel. How she'll feel. That sound weird. How she will feel. There we go. Um once she gets my product in her hand, how how would my candle make her feel when she get it, you know? So, um, if you do have a product, if you have been or a business, you've been thinking about starting a business, the this time is the best time to start cuz the world is crazy. Economy, and I I'm not even going to blame it on it.
I'm not going to even say anything about the economy. when it comes to starting a business because there's people all over the world that will like you on social media you reach so many people you reach so many people you know how many active um people that are on Instagram accounts that are on Instagram it's like a billion people a day like it's a lot of people to reach, you know.
