Project K.I.C.K is a growth drug developed in the 1960s by Taiwanese chemist Juan Lee, originally intended to accelerate the growth of cattle and poultry. The drug provides pain immunity but causes severe genetic mutations, with 90% of babies born to mothers who consumed it being deformed or missing limbs. Kenji Nata, a martial arts expert and wealthy investor, obtained the formula and created a cheaper production method, distributing the drug freely to create addiction before selling it at street prices of $300 per ounce. The drug affects the brain and nervous system, and Lee himself became addicted to his own creation, dying from an overdose in 1975.
