£300M WAR CHEST! 🚨 Massive Transfer Budget Revealed & Rashford Dumped!Added:
Manchester United have just been handed a massive 300 million pound war chest.
The latest financial reports change absolutely everything for Michael Carrick this summer. Plus, have Barcelona officially turned their backs on Marcus Rashford after moving for Anthony Gordon with reports suggesting that he's not in their long-term plans?
And finally, Lori Witwell has dropped a massive update on Sandro Tanali replacing Casemiro as the number six this summer. Welcome to the Midday News Show, guys. Please do hit the like and subscribe buttons and let's jump right into it.
Welcome back to the channel, guys.
Thanks for tuning in. As always, we've got a busy, busy show to talk about.
Welcome to all the new subscribers as well. Like we've been saying all week, the numbers have absolutely gone through the roof. Uh so, welcome to everybody. I am going on holidays tomorrow. Uh I'm away with the family for a week, but we will still be keeping the uploads uh of the midday news shows going all next week as well. The background will change. Uh, I'll probably be doing it on my phone, but we will continue to update you uh, next week as well. Uh, so make sure you're tuning in, subscribing, turning on notifications, all that good stuff. Now guys, there's only one place to start, and that is the financial reports coming out around Manchester United, and it is really, really good news. We know that Inos have been cutting costs over the last 12 to 18 months, and it seems to be paying dividends on the back end. Uh Manchester United according to Simon Stone in the BBC uh have reportedly got250 million pounds to spend on transfers this summer. The club confirmed they had paid off 110 million of their revolving credit facility since the reporting period ended on the 31st of March which is which is a key method uh of paying for transfers. Now, Steven Railston from the Manchester Evening News goes a little bit further and he says that Manchester United again he he mentions they have repaid that 110 million um in recent weeks, leaving 250 million headroom and positioning them to spend up to £300 million this summer. CEO Omar Brada highlighted the improved financial strength as the club targets key reinforcements in midfield, left wing and left back. This is absolutely massive news, guys, for United. Look, we know that United have, [sighs and gasps] you know, we we don't have the best financial structure over the last maybe 10 to look, ever since the Glazers, you know, ladened us with all of the debt after buying the club. It's been steadily deteriorating ever since. But you've got to give credit where credit is due to Inos here. They've come in, they've cut costs where they needed to.
Now look, it's always disappointing when you see people losing their jobs and and look, there was, you know, massive job losses at Manchester United, but ultimately United were massively overstaffed. We had one of the most bloated staff um numbers in the Premier League. And Inos came in and just, you know, look, we're going to cut costs where we have to and where we need to.
And the one thing you can say about Jim Radcliffe, he doesn't maybe know football inside and out. That's why he's got football people around him to make them decisions. But what he is good at, he's good at coming in and buying businesses that are losing money and turning them around and making them profitable. Now, how easy that is at United remains to be seen with the amount of debt that the Glazers put on us. But ultimately, the decisions that have been made over the last 12 to 18 months are now culminating in the fact that it's giving United some really really good wiggle room to to to go out and spend money in the window. We know the amount of work that needs to be done this summer, especially in midfield. And look, we heard the the whole 150 uh 150 million that was there for the midfield rebuild. Now again, I go back to what I said and we'll get into specifics in a minute, but when we're talking about an 80 million pound replacement for Casemiro for that number six, that leaves you then with maybe 50 million pounds for your second choice. Now, is that 50 million pounds going to be the likes of Matteas Fernandez, for example, out of West Ham? And then you've got 30 to 40 million pound for your third choice. Now is that 30 or 40 million pound already nearly in the door in terms of Ederson. It looks like it. And it looks like that Ederson deal is done.
And it looks like we're pivoting onto the next options. You know, we're talking about Talei in a moment. We'll talk about Fernandez. So I think United finally are being run correctly behind the scenes and and you know you can watch the United stand and Markbridge and whoever else you want to about the negativity around the club and you can feed off of that negativity if you want but ultimately there's been a hell of a lot of positives done on the back end of United in terms of trying to make us sustainable and profitable and the recruitment has been very good. Now we need that recruitment to continue this summer. That midfield rebuild is absolutely vital. But United having up to300 million pounds to spend is huge.
It really really is. That will allow us to to potentially bring in three new midfielders and it will also allow you to rebuild that left hand side if you want to get in another left winger and we will need a left back to to come in and to to I suppose share the burden with Luke Shaw there in a 60 game plus season that we will hopefully have next year. So look, really really good news, guys, uh around these new financial figures. Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below. I want to know your thoughts as well because a lot a lot of um a lot of the the talk we've had over the last few days has been around transfers, been around, you know, the Bruno Roy Keane things. I want to know your thoughts on Inos. Jump into the comment section below. Are you happy with them? Are these kind of reports coming out proof that they are doing a good job behind the scenes? I think it's quite clear that the transfer business has been really good when you look at Ka and Bremo, Cesco, Lemens, Daru, uh, Aiden Heaven. It's been really, really positive in fairness. So, yeah, let me know in the comments section below. Now, want to get down to specifics, guys. We mentioned at the back end of yesterday's show Sandro Tanali being potentially the replacement for Casemiro. Now, more reports. All of the reports are coming out of Italy. Now, when you look at it, let's talk Ederson for a second here.
Ederson when he first initially got linked with Manchester United a couple of months ago it was all heavily coming out of Italy. We're seeing something really similar here with Tanali which lends to me thinking there there definitely is something here. United are keeping tabs on him. We know they inquired about him a couple of months ago and went a bit quiet and it seems to be coming back again. The reports out of Italy are saying again that United retain interest in Sandro Tanali, but Newcastle want a fee close to 100 million pounds for the Italian midfielder. Now 100 million pounds for Tanali is not going to happen.
Absolutely no way. United will not go above probably 8085 million for a replacement of Casemiro because we need three midfielders in in the summer. If you spend 100 million, you're going to drop that down to only being able to bring in two. And we can't just bring in two. If Ugarte leaves, which I think he should and I think he will, that means three midfielders are a must. Now, Lori Whitwell has given us an update on Tanali as well on the Strefford Paddock yesterday. Go check it out uh if you haven't already, obviously after my uh new show. But he says it felt quite strong earlier in the year, then got told that the price was not something United could complete. H there's been reports in Italy this week that he is on the agenda alongside Ederson. I don't know if that's just from Italian origins uh that information. I had sensed prior to this point that his price was beyond the realms of what United were willing to pay. Now again, I mentioned this initially when we got linked with Tanali that it all comes down to the negotiations of the price. I don't think there would be an issue in terms of a a personal package for Tanali. I think we would be able to get him on decent wages, bonuses, whatever that case may be. That I don't think that would be an issue at all. Ultimately, it's going to come down to Newcastle. Look, Newcastle have kind of stagnated a little bit.
Their new owners came in, you know, they they invested quite well. They reformed that midfield and they are going to have to sell this summer. Now, Anthony Gordon going to Barcelona for 80 million is going to take a lot of the burden off of Newcastle to have to sell any more people. We heard of Lewis Hall looking to potentially move on and and a lot of clubs being interested in him and Sandro Tanali's agents are working actively to get him a move away from Newcastle this summer. Now Newcastle have got two options here. They can go all right well we get rid of you because we only want to have players here that want to play for Newcastle and we'll rebuild. But ultimately you see the struggles that they had last season in trying to get a striker in. Nobody wanted to go to Newcastle. They were linked with all of the same players we were. Esco Jacarez um oh god I can't even remember all of the other strikers that were there you know there was a lot I think Ekitique as well was linked with him and they missed out on all of them they could have that same issue this summer if they need to go out and get a replacement for Anthony Gordon for Sandro Tanali and maybe they might go well we don't want to have that issue again we're already after getting rid of Gordon Tanali you've got a contract stay where you are but United are going to have to be there test the waters I think I Anything over 80 million is now look again and I want to I want to just reiterate this a little bit because we're talking about you know direct replacements for Casemiro. Is Tanali a direct replacement for Casemiro? He's probably not to be quite honest with you. I think again he's not that out andout number six but the more I think about this are United actually going for an out and out number six a destroyer I don't know if they are because when we look about our first choice target is Elliot Anderson. Is he an out and out number six? No, I don't think he is. The only real out and out number six I think is Chuani. Now Chuani is according to Ben Jacobs is is being driven by uh [snorts] Christopher Vll.
Now Christopher VL has got an awful lot right since he's come in at Manchester United. And I think this guy again you all know if you've been watching for the last few weeks you know that this guy is my ideal replacement for Casemiro. that number six that can come in, play that role, and then give the freedom to an Ederson, a Matas Fernandez, a Bruno Fernandez, a KB man, whoever it is around him. You go play, I'm here. Don't worry. I don't think Elliot Anderson is that. Now, Sandro Tanali is probably the closest thing you could get to the likes of an out-and-out number six. I think you could probably drop Carlos Bale into that category as well, but he is obviously less experienced. So, it's going to be very interesting to see how Manchester United actually go through this window in terms of that direct replacement for Casemiro. Ederson is not the direct replacement for Casemiro. No way. Tanali, I think, does fit the bill, but not out and out. I don't think we we I don't know if we're going to look for an out and out number six. I mean, if you think of Casemiro this season, a lot of the time, especially under Micah Carrick, he was making them third man runs into the box. He was getting forward. He was creating chances. Was he playing that, you know, ego player? I'm I I'm never going to get ahead of the ball. I don't think he was. So maybe Michael Carrick is looking to transform that role a little bit where you can have a player like a Tali, like a an Elliot Anderson for an example that isn't just a a holding number six and that can, you know, break the lines and maybe jump to press uh the opposition defense, whatever the case may be. It's going to be very interesting, guys. It really really is. Now again finally before we move on uh Matteas Fernandez again Lori Whitwell says it feels quite warm when I speak to people West Ham um even if they had stayed up we're going to sell him they needed to raise funds now they've been relegated that would open the door to a more reasonable transfer fee uh 50 or 60 million now again that goes back to what we've said if you spend 80 million on Tanali um 50 million on Matteas Fernandez that's 130 and then you've got Ederson for 35 you know brings it up to about 160 now you won't have to pay all of that in one go.
So the 150 million I think you're talking spot on there as well. I think if we could get a like if we ended up with Tali Fernandez and Ederson I I would be happy. I really would. Now I would be happier with a Chuani Anderson and uh Fernandez. Absolutely I would. But ultimately we've got to just keep our powder dry for a moment and see what happens and see what can develop. By all accounts, United have personal terms agreed within with a a high number of midfield targets this summer already, which is absolutely good. It means United are doing their due diligence.
Now guys, I want to finish on Marcus Rashford because this isn't positive news if you know people are hoping that the deal to Barcelona gets you know made permanent. H reports are coming out from Spain guys that are saying the opposite to be quite honest with you. directly from Barcelona, Catalonia, and they're saying that Marcus Rashford is reportedly not part of Barcelona's long-term plans and is unlikely to stay beyond this season unless they fail to sign a striker to eventually replace Leandowski. Barcelona are also said h to view Anthony Gordon as a better tactical fit than Rashford, particularly for his pressing and defensive work. I wouldn't disagree with his pressing and defensive work. I think Anthony Gordon is better is better than Rashford at doing that.
But ultimately these are not uh reports that we want to hear. We want Marcus Rashford to be done and thus a sign seal and delivered and heading off to Barcelona for 30 million get the money in. But ultimately like I mentioned yesterday I think there's a high possibility he comes back to Manchester United this summer and United look for a another suitor for him. Now another report coming out from Spain has said that if Barcelona activate Marcus Rasher's 30 million buy option the fee would be paid in three installments uh 10 million euro across 26 27 and 28. Now look a lot of deals are done in installments like that as well. It's not uncommon to see things like that. But ultimately, if Barcelona can't spare 10 million this summer to sign Marcus Rashford and then pay 10 next year and 10 year year later when supposedly they're going in for 100 million on Julian Alvarez, then yeah, I mean it just goes to show everything about what Barcelona actually want and their intentions of really keeping Marcus Rashford this summer. To be honest with you, the more I read into it, the more I think Rashford is going to come back to United. I really, really do. But let me know your thoughts in the comments section below, guys. Let me know your thoughts on Rashford. Let me know your thoughts on Inos. Like I said there, I want to know your opinions on Inos. Are you happy with what they're doing? Where can they improve? And what do we need to do going forward? Uh, you know, to get us back to challenging for Premier Leagues and Champions Leagues. Like I said, guys, I will be away on holidays next week, but these uh midday news shows will continue to come out at 12:00. I'll probably be doing it on my phone. I might actually do it on the laptop. H I've got a camera on my laptop here as well. Uh, so h the camera may be different, but the audio will be the same. So, make sure you're tuning in. As always, please do smash a like on the video, guys. Subscribe if you're new to the channel. I will have a video coming out uh on the weekend as well, either tomorrow or Sunday uh just in relation to a keep sell loan uh in relation to the current squad. So, make sure you're tuned in for that as well. Hope you have a great weekend, guys. But until then, I'll see you on the next one.
