Otter BUSTS Through Frozen Lake! 🦦❄️

[00:00:22]This is one of my favorite videos I have seen recently. And there's some things about otter you might not know that are actually very interesting. One, they are really built for this. They have webbed feet. They have very thick fur. And you have to realize how cold that water probably is. If the top layer is literally frozen ice, the water under it has got to be very, very cold. But these otter can take that because they have this very, very thick fur that keeps them insulated from that water. And then something I honestly didn't know is otter can hold their breath for up to 8 minutes long. I would have never guessed that. They are very good at holding their breath. Now, they don't necessarily stay under there for 8 minutes every time. It's usually much less than that, but going under for like four or five minutes really is nothing for these otter. So, they don't have to like panic or go down for 20, 30 seconds and then come back up. They can stay down there for a while, but as you can see, once they run out of breath, they'll just hope the ice is thin enough and poke through it and take a breath.
